[Q] Question about Ultima 4.... - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I recently installed Ultima 4 on my X10... and i really like it... smooth and fast, and the most important very good battery usage. But i have a problem, it reboots by itself, frequently, like 5 or 6 times per day, without specific reason... some times while playing a video, other times when installing an application, and it's really annoying... And i'm wondering if anyone is having the same problem.
I flashed BB52, and then installed the ROM... Is there anything i should do to fix this?
Thank you

Fixed... I think. I installed FreeKernelmod351 for Froyo... and it's been almost 24 hours without any reboot

battery drain

Hi sorry to bother everyone but i'm kinda sick of failing atm
I hate how the battery life is so short on the x10 so then i looked at eric's ewjet rom. some guy said he got 4 days battery
BUT when i;ve installed it, it always drains in less than a day
i;ve reinstalled it about 3 times already. can some1 help me?
and could u maybe outline the steps simply?
unfortunately X10 are the well known device that drains battery quicker than many other phones. You might want to wait 2 days or 3 to wait for the new GB 2.3 firmware to be released as it is told that it will improve problems of battery consumption
My girlfriend gets around 50 hours with thi phone, some surfing, and quite a bit playing games, she gets nearly triple the battery life that i get with my sensation. Edit: this is with wolfbreaks rom, she is quite happy with it. damn i need some sleep

On the stock x10, there are a bunch of apps that run in the background that really don't need to.
Another thing you can do is install something like a Task Manager and end applications that aren't being used. An example, is that if I open my camera app and close it when I am done, my camera app stays open for hours after I have exited the program....I could kill it using Task Manager.
Don't use animated desktop....keep bluetooth and data and wifi off when you aren't using them.
My stock phone would only last a day. My BlueSpark ROM, with light use, will run for 2.5 days without having to recharge. When I made my own custom ROM, that was very minimalist, it lasted for 3 days of light use with no charge.
You could try flashing a different baseband, I've heard that'll help.

I'm on Wolfbreak's rom and I only get 1 day out of the battery. What baseband is she on?

[Q] MIUI-NB lags

Hi!
I tried to search for the solution, but didn't find one.
I've installed MIUI-NB ROM recently (unfortunately, I cannot post there, because I don't have 10 posts to post in developers' forums; if somebody can append the question to that topic, I'd appreciate).
Generally, I like this ROM very much, but today I have experienced HUGE lags when accessing the Internet via mobile data (especially noticeable on 3G). Load average jumps to 8 and more, lags are so noticeable that render the phone unusable. Did someone experience that?
Reboots do not help. Switching to WiFi cures the lags immediately, thought the load remains pretty high (about 2.5).
Did someone else experienced that and can give a bit of advice, please?
I did, I couldn't figure it out. I believe it has to do with either kernal or modem. Try miui LE 9.1 which is what I have with the kb5 modem and its super fast. I've haven't experienced any lag yet.

Its more likely do to the fact that he adds to much bloat and useless apps....hogging up all the ram.
I also use lithium with kb5 modem....can't beat it
Hey, i was a NB supporter, and loyal too, but it started to crash on me lately so today i went to Miui PRIME and so far.. its AMAZING no lag what so ever.
I heard Lithium was good too but i asked one guy and he said he got 8 hrs from light usage... so i was like ehhhhhhhhhhhhh
I was also on NB but it was too laggy ...so had to move on to lithium 9.1 ...which is working great
I had to go back to cm7, I started to get reboots during calls and had to take the battery out to shut it off. If i put the battery in it would fire up on its own. That was a first.
Ok here's an update I'm on LE 9 and I'm at 72% battery at 7 hours. Ill give you guys a total of hours when down to 2%.
This is with light to moderate usage, YouTube, FB, xda, web, texts and calls

Don't expect great battery life with any miui...I think the best I've gotten was around 12 hrs with lite use....I went and got cpu master and uv'd to 800 but im not sure it really helps but it definitely oc's very well

Battery usage isnt a huge prob for me, my problem is after a week or two ive gotta reflash the same rom, setup my apps. hate too but im thinking of flashing back to stock and running bionix. not having a stable build is getting frustrating.

How's the battery life on MIUI Prime? My phone, too, has been crashing after a day's use. I would have to restart it every 1-2 days in order for it to become responsive again. It gets annoying and I'm already contemplating on going back to 2.2 again. lol
Agreed I've been thinking the same thing.
Ok guys last update on my battery before I go to sleep. I'm at 6% battery left and it has lasted me 16 hours. I am using juice defender so that is helping. I used the phone to listen to music, FB, text, calls.

I was on bionix, and it was starting to drag and GPS wouldn't lock. so I wanted to try a newer ROM, just flashed MIUI-NB, but the low battery life worries me.
OK look at it this way....you know how your computer starts out really fast and all...then after awhile ....after so many downloads and websites visited it starts to slow down and then starts freezin up and all that....well that's what's happening to your phone, after all...it is a computer.
What I do is completely wipe everything including formatting system and SD and external SD...reflash your favorite rom and WHAM! Fast as hell again.
Thing to remember is all the BS you install and uninstall, isn't completely gone....its there and its hogging up your ram.
Just a hint guys... this rom your talking about is slap full of bloat alot of it is needed just to get fair results becuz of all the crap that's been done to it .
I'm back to 2.2 after almost 8 months of playing with miui and gingerbread, and I've realized something....the grass isn't greener on the other side.....especially when the proper files have not been released.
I do not mean to offend anyone...I am just posting my opinion off what I see after many many flashings.
I love miui with all the customizing that is made available with it but its just not what it could or should be and probably never will be and you can thank Samsung and T-Mobile for that.....unfortunately the vibrant is fading out as with the smartphone before it and the one before that.
One thing is for sure though.....the vibrant was the beginning of a Great Era. and that is a fact

MIUI-NB?

Hey I installed MIUI-NB a few days ago when it was released and am wondering how the battery is or if its supposed to even out? Mine lasts about 5 hours on light use and just an hour ago I had it at 87% and its now at 15% and all I did was mess with the theme a bit. I even have the data off. Is that normal for MIUI?
tough call, i flashed back to stock, had serious problems, i liked the build but too many scripts ,my phone couldnt hang, great idea just too muchfooofooo
you think the scripts have to do with the battery drain? I heard extended settings also causes battery drain.
1) Have you done atleast 3 battery calibrations?
2) If you have, does the battery stay bad even on froyo stock roms?
3) if they do, then your battery is most likely faulty.
Yup done the calibration and I can get through the whole day on a 2.2 rom so its not the battery.
I'm using MIUI-NB with Glitch v12. With JuiceDefender running, I can get more than 48hrs on light use (texting, car music, light gaming), and going 24hrs with heavy use is no problem.
Like the creator said, let it settle.
yeah for sure, what were you getting the first 2 days?
Problem with Titanium backup
Hi,
I just flashed the MIUI-NB rom. Looks really great.... but I previously had a different rom and had taken a backup of my contacts with Titanium backup. But now when I try to restore the contacts with titanium backup I see that its successful but there are no contacts. And when I choose to restore App+Data it gives me an error stating the contacts app cannot be installed.
Please can anyone help me out here.
Thanks a lot guys.
GPS
I flushed this rom several times...could not get GPS working.
I've followed the instructions: flush, wait, reboot, wait, foxGPS, reboot, angryGPS lock test.
so when I do angryGPS lock test, it looks like crazzzy but after that GPS would stop working at all!!! no mater what I do! I have replaced lib files for FFC so maby that what cosing it.
By the way what is the best stable GB rom for the vibrant for daily use?
I've been using boinx V and 1.3.1, but now I'me tiring to move to 2.3. I've also installed FFC just a week ago.
Please help!

[Q] SOD on galaxy ace GT-S5830

Hey guys,
Just want to ask have anyone ever experience Sleep of Death(SOD) on your Ace?
SOD is that the phone goes into deep sleep or u can say it shuts down automatically when your screen is off for about 10 minutes...sometimes you must remount your battery only it will start up...its kinda annoying because you have to reboot 4 or 5 times a day!!!
I flashed my friend's stock rom from 2.3.4 xxkpn - 2.3.4 xxkph and rooted, deodexed, and have CodeRom v2x-2b flashed.
Everything goes nice and smooth...but the next day it goes SOD even so, i reflashed everything for 3 times but still things don't get solved.
But funny thing is i flashed my Ace with specification above everything is working superbly fine since the 1st day till now, but my friend's Ace goes SOD.
If there is anyone have experience on solving SOD don't mind sharing it??
because tried methods such as turning off wifi while screen is off and other methods posted on the internet but still won't work...thanks
yes, it's a common problem with SGA. for some people it happens everyday, for others it happens once a weak. you never know.
there are custom roms that dnt have this problem. right now i'm using GingerReal-2.0. it's very stable and fast.
oh...will try that ROM someday...but i'm still satisfied with my CodeRom
thanks bro.
SOD problem on SGA solved!!!
The cause of the 'SOD' is all because of the wifi when there is no connectivity or the phone is unable to connect. This has been tested for several times.
Just make sure to turn off the wifi when you are not in use and the 'SOD' problem will be solved.
The same for me
I'm also experiencing SODs with this smartphone. The Wi-Fi trick seems to help, but it is really unfriendly to the user. So, still waiting for a real fix.
There 2 other big threads wholly devoted to the problem:

Honor 7 ROM recommendation

Hello All!
I looking for some advice what rom to use. No need to be fancy, just something that is working fine and stable, still fast after a few months of usage.
I'm using "B396_Reloaded [magisk][Xposed][microG] " right now but quite unsatisfied with it.
I had been using it for about 2 months, but today I had to factory reset, because I was getting random reboots and could not wake from screen off, could not install/uninstall anything.
After reset, still having issues with new ROM(SuperSU not working, Playstore acting wierd when installing apps), so I think it's time for a change.
What ROM could you recommend?
Thanks!
