Sorry if this has been asked in either the Q and A section, or this one. But I was wondering, for the people that bought the EVO 3D off contract, for the full retail price, how much did you pay? Sprint/bestbuy said it was 679.99(sprint) (699.99 for bestbuy) for the time being, and would go down to 549 eventually. Wondering if anyone else enencountered this as well?

I still don't understand why somebody would pay full retail price of $549 plus tax for this phone. Open up a new line at $199, then just cancel your current line. Even at full ETF price thats $200 + 199 = $399 plus tax. If you've had service then your ETF gets prorated per month (for example in my case: I've had Sprint for 9 months, ETF is only $140 plus $199 for new contract = $339 plus tax.) Then just sell your old EVO or old Sprint phone to get more money to use towards the new EVO 3D. I've been doing this for years, also works at other carriers.
The only downside is you have to change your number but its worth it to save over $100.

I hate ATT as much as the next guy, but stealing is never right..
I would just be thrilled to be able to find a Tmobile store in chicagoland that had them in stock!!!

He said on returns the only thing that really matters is having the phone itself, the battery, and the charger on the return
I'm kinda torn on this.... Now I would never go sign up for At&t and get a phone just so I could return it and keep the MHL adaptor. BUT, I'm sure many of you have gotten a replacement device under warranty and kept the battery, battery door, or charger/usb cable whenever you returned the device. I know Sprint has told me to keep all the accessories and just ship the phone back, which I have done. If that was the case with the OP, then I dont see a problem. Now telling people to go sign a contract with AT&T just to keep a MHL adaptor is a different story though. Too much work and probably not even that much cheaper than just buying the adaptop after you pay for 3-4 days of service, figuring that the plan is $100 a month, divided by 30 days is around $3.33 a day, 3.33 x 4 is over $13... Just buy one for $20 and save the hassle and dishonesty... just my 2 cents...

yep. well sorta.. I wanted my EVO because of the new 4g lte speed that was coming out after the release. But that turned to months of waiting and still stuck @3g service. I should have waited until the actual service came out then gotten the phone....
But i do love my phone... and even more that i modded it...

I picked up my EVO 4G LTE on the 1st weekend it was out for $99 at a sprint store. I got a killer deal and some discounts and my old EVO was not even ready for a full upgrade at the time. Sold my old Evo on ebay for about $75 so I walked away with a steal.
Got to know how to shop and deal these days, I'm afraid.

With the HTC One being $99 on T-Mobile. Then I could cover the cost with a trade in if the trade in estimate is $100.
I am confused on proof of purchase. I actually ordered mine a few days ago, but reading the thread from the last rebate the carriers dont send an invoice with the phones. I know people last time just provided option B. The UPC and imei doesn't have the date of purchase. I am curious why this wouldn't work? I have an old smart phone that I would likely recycle anyway so I don't really have alot to lose by trying right?

Just snagged this phone today on amazon for a whopping $21.74 can't be anymore excited to have it wednesday. Congrats on the deal. I assume this was some sort of Black Friday special (assuming you're in the U.S and know what Black Friday is). You'll love the phone. Screen is amazing, battery life is fantastic, and if you're into rooting/ROMming there are plenty of options.

Paid NZ$750 for mine (D802) off contract, but sold my 2 month old Nexus 4 I got free with my contract for $300, so all in all, not bad! Worth every cent though!
