Hello to all.
I made some mods to the stock Mms.apk (the messaging app).
Features
No more AutoConverting messages to MMS after 4 SMS. (In my mod, it will be converted to MMS after 1000 SMS.)
Possible to add to the message 1000 contacts instead of 10 contacts.
When your phone is off, Sent Time displayed instead of the Received Time.
Replaced the stock sms launcher icon with the Froyo/Gingerbread one.
Default Text Message limit: 10.000
Default Multimedia Message limit: 1.000
You can now send 160 characters greek message instead of 70. [Uppercase only!]

Great job
But When i've tested your rom ( 5.7 ) last week.
I've found a bug from SMS
When I received a SMS, time was wrong
When I send a sms, for exampe it was 11:00 AM
And When I received a SMS two minutes later
It was said 9:01 AM
Sorry if the bug has already send ...
...
Sorry for my bad english
If you can fix it in v6.0 it would be great
@brigo, Thanks for reminding it to me. You must set the time manualy. This is because wrong configured time zone
Thanks

Is it normal for the stock messaging icon to disappear from the bottom panel of the main screen after applying this mod ?
I extracted the modded mms.apk and pasted it to /system/app with root explorer. Did a reboot and now only Phone, Contact and Applications are available on the bottom bar. A separate mms.apk is available in the scroll screen which works fine for messaging. Didnt copy the Meta-Inf folder. I am using DDJP4 "plus" FW.

I am using 10 minutes ahead from the original time setting. For example, when I try to send a message at 10:10 PM, the correct time stamp will appear. But when I received a reply after 5 minutes, the time stamp became 10:05PM(should be 10:15 PM).
I m gettin wrong time stamp only from cdma no. s... :-/ as I keep my phone turned off sumtimes, so I can understand later, at what time it is sent actually..

First and foremost, before installing this ZIP through Tenfar's recovery, you MUST have GingerBlur v4 already installed!

[EDIT] Running this with GingerBlur 4.5 - working great with NO issues..
Nice work man!! This looks great!!
Thanks! I JUST finished updating the OP with install instructions and I also attached a RAR file with the dock/icons to use if you wanted to make LauncherPro look just like it does in the screenshots.
Also, while I like red and/or blue themes, my wife likes purple so I'll probably be working on a GrapeBlur theme next.
If anyone tries pushing these files to a release other than 4.1.57 (such as Adeo or Gingerblur based on 4.1.52) I would be interested to know the results!
Looks great sir, thanks for the work.
Looks great man, thanks for putting this together. One question though, is it posible to make a blue theme as I love blue!
Thanks for great work! One question though, any errors during the deodexing process?

I had one error, I think it was on PhotoEditor.apk and PhotoEditor.odex. I've seen or used a built-in photo editor so I just removed those then restarted the deodex process for apps and it completed successfully.
just tried deodexing and yes, getting the same errors from the two apks as well. Ok thanks for the heads up will try again
Successfully applied the theme!
Found 1 bug. The clock in notification bar is black in mine instead of white. Any idea why?
This might be a nobrainer but, if I change the icon files inside the apk and then push it to my phone will it still work? In this way will I be able to make my own 4.1.57 themes?
hey.. i am sorry to ask this how am i suppose to install the grapeblur and the launcherpro.. i have no idea .. i am soo sorry to ask such a dum question.. but this is my first time with an android
okay I may be kinda slow how do I make use of the launcherpro files?
hey how would you install cherryblur in the first place.. i have my phone deodexed and all but having trouble knowing how to install cherryblur...
Beautiful theme and I love battery icon... what clock app are you using?

You added a few icons to the /drawable-hdpi directory. Do you actually use them via the xml files, or are they just remains of whatever framework-res.apk you used?

yes
just get framework-res.apk, back it up, open it with winrar.
drag and drop the files, of the same name, that you would like to replace into the open winrar window. choose normal and 'add and replace', then close the window to save. replace the one in system/framework with your modified version.
Be sure to set the priviledges correctly after you copy into system/framework.
They should match the original, full read and user write.
Thats how I made this.
Edit: Every time I replace the framework-res.apk I lose my google, twitter, and facebook accounts. Anyone know why, all I'm doing is replacing images.

When you long press on any of the icons in the dockbar of LauncherPro you should see an option to change the icon. You need to have the icons/dock I attached saved to your sdcard ahead of time so you can choose "custom" for the icon and select the graphic you want to use.
For the dock you go to Menu -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Dock Background
* Pretty sure that's correct, but my phone is in on the charger in my bedroom where my wife is sleeping so I don't want to accidentally wake her up.
Hey all i just wanted to ask is there any way 2 get the old text messaging program back instead of the one thats installed with this one i liked the stock Antrix one. For those like me who need corporate sync and like the blur universal inbox you can install just that portion of the moto bloatware instead of all of it.
** EDIT ** I'm adding a couple more applications now. Please, others jump in to do other applications because I'm out of time working on my Atrix for this week!
** WARNING ** I'm not an android dev and this process has only been tested on my phone. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
There are 3 files attached.
messaging.zip - restores original blur messagine apps, including corporate sync, txt messaging with balloon conversation mode, and the universal inbox. It does not have the messaging widget.
taskman.zip - if you liked moto's Task Manager app, this will restore it for you so you can kill tasks and uninstall like before GB.
gallery.zip - restores the moto Medial Gallery application. Note the GB version of Gallery will still exist and both will work.
Quick instructions:
* You will need CWM Recovery for this
* Follow CWM instructions exactly - especially the part about plugging into the AC adapter or it won't work!
**NOTE** this will also install the original blur txt messaging interface with the conversation balloon mode. Its all one application so no way around it that I know of.
1) copy one of the zip files (attached) to your sdcard root directory
2) run CWM according to instructions in its thread
3) after reboot into CWM select "Install zip from SDCARD"
4) select "Choose zip from internal sdcard"
5) scroll down to the zip file name (ex: messaging.zip)
6) select the file (power button) and run the update
7) go back to main menu and select "Reboot system now"
A few steps but doesn't take long. I just pulled these out of the gingerblur-bloatware.zip and figured out what file structure you have to leave in place for it to function.
Hope this will save people some time.

I think there's a bloatware restorer on the greyblur site. Try that.
Will that install it all back tho or will i be able to pic
well ill look at it and see if it can do only one thing
thanks i forgot about that
Alright so i found them in the files there how do i delete the new one and get this old one back on there? im so confused help!
Still have not figured it out some one help?
http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/d...-reinstall-deleted-system-apps-bloatware.html
That thread helped me how 2 install the files but i cant install them it tells me
Application not installed any clue how 2 fix this and remove the old one some thing? any one?
You need to download the messaging bloatware zip, reboot into recoverymode and use CWM to install that zip file... It's the same process as installing grey/gingerblur.
Well if i new where the messaging bloatware zip was i would try 2 get that
i know they have the full one with everything but is there one with only the messaging part? or some thing like that?
Well i tryed 2 just install the messager part and i soft bricked my phone just fixed that but still dont have the old messaging system
Go to the android development section and find the gingerblur thread (it shouldn't be difficult). Then go to the gingerblur website given in the thread and download the bloatware.zip. you will also need tenfars cwm recovery which is in the development section also. Then just flash the zip file using the cwm recovery guide. Make sure your phone is plugged into a wall outlet charger when you do this (not a computer USB port) or it won't work.

You are running 3.2? I'll check and see if its because of that or not after work. Otherwise you may try extracting the dialer from from the .zip and push it through root explorer to system/app folder and reboot.
yes i have 3.2 but dialer is still old one from wich folder and which apk i should to extract
i have replased but still old one
under dialer you mean phone.apk write? or dialertabactivity.apk?
Sick theme! Only problem I'm having is my phone keeps force closing. I'm going to reflash in a little bit and see if that fixes it. Everything else is great. Keep up the good work!

Those images are in the DialerTabActivity.apk and you would need to extract the ProjectV_AssassinEdition.zip and push the DialerTabActivity.apk from system/app/ folder in that .zip to the system/app folder of your phone and reboot. Not sure why it didn't go unless 3.2 has a different naming system for the files. I still gotta look into that. That's why I posted it for Project-V, could be port issue requiring a full port.

You may try to do a wipe cache, dalvik and fix permissions from red recovery... The only issue I have had so far has also been an issue for all unthemed roms for me and that's no email notification sounds. But fix permissions might do it without a full wipe. let me know.

I just realized that the image you posted is the in-call dialer....You know, When you are asked to press 7 to delete voicemail or 1 for english lol
Those images are in the phone.apk, but the main dialer for dialing your calls is in the dialertabactivity.apk To get that as the main dialer would require a multi-apk rework... If I have time I might make you a zip you can use in ninja morph.

i've clean dalvik cache and install it from cwm but still the same

i whant dialer like this but with your theme
vazovskiiii ;
The update I attached for you should have changed the number buttons background and background of the dialer itself to that of the in-call dialer you first posted a pic of.
After your last post, I realize that I have no clue what exactly it is that you want.
I'm not sure if it is the other language in the header or the layout of the buttons on the bottom row...either way...if its either of those, I may not be able to help you change that. I just took an existing dialer and themed the images not the coding.
yes yes you are wright i whant your themed dialer with second layout my english is very bad i now
i just whant the layout of second picture but with your theme
i whant change the places of buttons like in second picture in my dialer the below row is speaker call and contacts and i just whant to change like in in second picture down, call video call, message and beckward
Is there any way you can post the wallpaper you used for this theme?

UPSM is good way to save some battery when needed, but only a very limited apps we can use under UPSM. With root access, we can add more apps support in UPSM.
Well, the whole idea of UPSM is to save battery, why on earth we want to add more apps to drain the battery? Because we can :victory:
For the start, our mod will add a few applications so you can test it out before customizing your own application list.
Apps added in our mod:
1) Camera
2) Gallery
3) Torch (included AOSP torch.apk for this feature)
4) Chrome
5) Hangout
Instruction to add more apps to UPSM
1) Download the UPSM_Add_More_Apps.zip from : http://electron-team.com/ADDONS/other/
2) Put zip file in sd card.
3) Boot in recovery and clear cache partition
4) Flash the zip file and reboot your phone
5) Boot into UPSM to test the added applications
How to add your own apps?
6) Go to system/csc and open up allowed_apps_upsm.xml with text editor
7) Add your desired applications. You need to know the application Package Name and the Main Class Name. Check the app's Android.Manifest.xml to find out.
8) Then go to phone data/data/com.sec.android.emergencylauncher/databases/ and delete EmergencyLauncherUPSM.db
9) Reboot your phone.
10) Done.
Note: Music app doesn't work in UPSM because some background services has been turn off.
Wish to have Xposed module or app to easily add more app to UPSM? Me too. Let's hope somebody could make one in future.:fingers-crossed:

I made a quick app to easily add more apps to the upsm list. I am still testing it to make sure it is writing the list right. I will share it soon enough.

My S5 does not have in system/csc a file named "allowed_apps_upsm.xml". It only has: contents.db, customer.xml, default_workspace.xml, feature.xml, others.xml, and sales_code.dat. Help?!
Also will this work on a Sprint Galaxy S5? (SM-G900P)
I hope that someone will turn on music files on upsm.
hello, is it possible to have gps turned on while screen is off.
I want to run Sports Tracker in this mode, but it stops working after turning off the screen

if it doesnt have that file you can add it. No problem. Take one of the files published ona previous page, copy it into system/csc and give rw-r-r permissions. then reboot. It should work on all devices, including sprint. Cheers!

Please can u post '' allowed_apps_upsm.xml '' i would try on galaxy tab s ^^
Thanks
I don't have in com.android.sec.emergencylauncher this file.......db And upsm manager don't work on omega 7.1 why ?
Obviously if you run more apps, you'll use some more power when you're using those new apps in power save mode. But will adding more to the menu use any more power while you're not using these?
What I'm really trying to establish is if there's any negative point to adding more apps in power save mode.

Hey mate, I think I came across something today that may answer your question.
After adding settings with UPSM manager, I went into "manage apps" and discovered that whilst in this mode, all apps are marked as "disabled" except for those that work in upsm.
Based on this observation, it seems like UPSM actually disables all apps (and by consequence their background services) to save battery, not just hiding them.
So to answer your question, I'd guess that adding more apps will not in itself cause battery drain, unless the apps have battery/ram consuming background services. Therefore my approach is to enable as few apps as I need (whatsapp, music etc), whilst leaving off apps like facebook which has notifications etc.
Hope that helps you or someone
Work with NE5?
Does this work with NE5? I can't seem to get it to work. I am stock rooted without tripping KNOX.
I don't have either of the mentioned files:
system/csc/allowed_apps_upsm.xml
data/data/com.sec.android.emergencylauncher/databases/EmergencyLauncherUPSM.db
I don't even have the data/data/com.sec.android.emergencylauncher/databases directory.
Tried using the app and that adds the system/csc/allowed_apps_upsm.xml file but it doesn't affect the available applications list in UPM mode.
link doesn't work anymore (404). can somebody upload xml file I don't have it on my S5 . Will it work on lollipop?
+1

~WARNING~
This is working on Sprint S5 MOAR ROM.
Use these methods at YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!!!
I get sick of looking at the default android contact images and thought I would change them ALL. The image I decided to use is Bob Dobbs of The Church of the SubGenius. Yes Slack is good, and we need to be reminded of that when we communicate with the other degenerates in our lives. A little more Slack ain't not be hurts no-ones mayne.........
I have made changes to almost all contact related images in the following: InCallUI.apk, SecContacts.apk, SecTeleService.apk, and SecMms_Blue.apk. Its been a couple of days now and I am getting no errors + loving the way the Contacts and Messaging look.
Click tab above for Screenshots.
~~~~~~~~~DISCLAIMER!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~
If you get warts, if your newborn pops out with a foot on its forehead, if your teenage daughter runs off with the meth-head biker from down the street, you find your wife having Gang-Sex with cut-throat multi-nationals, or if your phone takes a GIANT **** on you: You are just plain fuct. I will brook no (read: ZERO) responsibillity.
Let The Slack Flow...
That being said, If you love Slack you can use the attached Apks to update the way your contacts display.
First off you will need a root browser like RootExplorer, or whatever you deem worthy.
Next transfer the updated Apks to your SD Card.
Open RootExplorer and navigate to wherever you put the Apks. Select copy-move InCallUI.apk then back out to the root of your phone's file system.
Make sure you are mounted RW (in RootExplorer the tab is located up top). Open "system\app" and then select "Move-Copy here" When asked if you want to replace-overwrite existing app select yes. After the file has transferred you need to scroll down and long-press on it to change permissions to RW-R-R.
Now copy or move the remaining three Apks into "system\priv-app" and change the permissions on those to RW-R-R as well.
Now back out to the root of your file system again and select Refresh from in RootExplorer settings. Reboot and WipeCache\Dalvik. Enjoy much Slack.
ALTERNATE IMAGE METHOD~~~
For those of you not into Slack-ing off whom wish to use their favorite picture of Early Cuyler or Tipper Gore and Janet Reno doing the chilli-dog or whatever, you can use the images in the two folders in the Update Contacts.zip from the download link below as templates. You will need to use whatever image editor you like (GIMP, Paint.net, etc...) to make changes to ALL the image files in both of the folders I have included, and then re-save them to the same folder for easy access.
!!!DO NOT GO CHANGING ANY NAMES OF ANYTHING!!!
Before you make changes in the Apks. Open the folder you saved your edited images in and make note of the names of the files you will be changing imagery in for each Apk.
Open each Apk with whatever archive tool you have (I used winrar). Navigate to each folder you need to update images in and select "add files to archive." Navigate to the folder containing your updated images and hit "ok."
Hokay.
Now place your edited Apks on your phone and overwrite the old Apks, Change permissions & Refresh.
Reboot recovery and wipe your cache-dalvik.
Enjoy...........
Sorry. Links, screenshots, and instructions are up now.
I just edited the SecContact.apk a little bit, but when I pushed the new back to replace the old one, chmod 644, reflashed, clear the cache and reboot... Finally the contacts and the dialer app icon never showes in my app list, who can tell why?
PS: if I deal with SecMms_Blue.apk in the same way, it works!
What else, the stock apk always works fine when I pushed it back to the phone.
So, what is in the way?
Sorry, been out of it for a while.
What is the error adb is giving you?
Did you try using Root Explorer to replace/chmod SecContacts.apk. Also try placing both SecMms_Blue.apk and SecContacts.apk in system/app AND system/priv app. If that does not work send me a log of the additional edits and I will track it down for you. Again, sorry for the deplorable response time.
PM me if you need to.
