[Q] Wake up on notification - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know there are other threads on this in different phone's subsections, but am I missing something here when I thought this was a built in feature? For some reason, my atrix doesn't wake up on ANY notification. Anyone know how to enable/disable the wake up? I can't seem to find it...

[Q] LED lights in CM nightly build #13

I was wondering how these worked, right now I have it enabled. Whenever I miss a call the bottom buttons on the bottom light up (menu, home, back...) and they do not go away until I clear the missed call notification. I was wondering if this is the way it is supposed to work? all there is to it? are there any settings where I can make them blink? I was thinking it would be more like the app noLED.
I'm sorry if this is a N00b question with an obvious answer, I have searched but can't find the answer.
thanks for any/all replies!
That's referred to as BLN (BackLight Notification). Its supposed to light up for missed calls, texts, emails, or any other notification. Its suppoed to state lit up til you clear it. What you are describing is expected behavior. There is an app in the market called BLN something, to manage it, built for the Captivate. There is also an app called blinky that worked on the captivate to make them blink.
In theory it should work better than NoLED, it should take less battery and processor. It hasn't been implemented in the stock based ROMs (for the S II) because it causes the phone to not enter deep sleep mode (as does noLED). It must be new to CM7. Hopefully if it doesn't cause a wake lock in CM7 it can be ported back to stock based ROMs. This is the last feature I was looking for in the custom ROMs for this phone.

Yes what he said above except Blinky and BLN APP will not work for cm7 on the SGS2. Cm7 has its own setting to control it. You can disable them if you don't want to use led notifications from with the settings or CyanogenMOD settings.
Yes it creates a wakelock until you clear the message, missed call, etc. Then the wakelock goes away. Also there is a timeout for the led notification that can be controlled also.

[Q] Is there a "sweep to wake" app out there?

I have a case on my phone that makes using the hardware buttons a real pain. Has anyone found, or does anyone know of any custom kernels or roms released that allow a 'sweep glass to wake' feature? I'm using widgetlocker now which allows a wake by pressing the volume buttons - which are easier than the power key, but if anyone has any suggestions (other than removing the case), I'm all ears.
I'm running the unNamed 2.1.1 rom w/entropy's kernel btw.
Thanks!
Matt
Don't know of any. Don't think anyone would even want one, besides you. I leave my phone in my pocket and it would constantly turn on when walking, if it was just a swype gesture. IMO, it would be a massive pain.
I'm 99% certain there is no way to do this without increasing battery drain significantly. Having the touchscreen controller active while in sleep would increase drain a lot, and also it's about 50% likely the touchscreen controller is not even capable of waking the CPU from deep sleep.
It would require a MASSIVE amount of kernel hacking to make it possible, and the battery drain would be awful.
Check out "Tap Tap App" in the market. I've been using it. It's a little strange as it doesn't always work. It does most of the time. I don't know what it does to the battery. I haven't checked it yet.
You're closest bet would be to find something that allows the capacitive keys to wake the screen (I believe some HTC devices can do that, as can my gTablet).
It might be as simple as editing a keymap file.

[Q] disable haptic feedback completely

Hi I couldn't find an answer anywhere including other phones. What I want to do is remove vibration feedback completely ( plug phone in) if its possible also have a p769 if that's of any relevance am rooted. Also to clarify I am not talking about the keyboard feedback this is beyond that. Thanks for your time.
I'm also looking for solution for this problem. I hate it when mobile vibrates even on notifications!
It was fine with ICS but JB has no option for disabling vibration completely.
you can disable in Cyanogenmod also . but no way to disable on stock jelly bean.

Vibration /Profile Widget?

Hey all, im trying to find a profile widget taht will allow me to switch between sound, vibrate and vibrate with sound. So far none of the widgets I have found will do that. If sound is on it will have sound and vibration. I can work around it by lowering vibration intensity in settings but was looking for a quicker way. Anybody know of anything like this out there? I used to run CM and they had the functionality in their profiles but I cant seem to find anything else out there. Maybe im the only one that is still annoyed that I cant make this happen? Or maybe there is something that will do this and im just out of touch. Either way any suggestions would be appreciated.

10.0.6.0 Notifications Broken?

Hi all,
Overnight, notifications have completely died on my phone. They don't show on the lock screen or as floating notifications.
I have everything enabled. EVERYTHING. Floating notifications, per-app enabled notifications, show on lock screen. I have no idea what else I can do.
I read that this was a bug in older versions of MIUI but was fixed in August, but I'm running the latest 10.0.6.0.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks.
I've had this issue since day 1 buying things phone. I am completely annoyed too. I haven't found any solution in the forums
