[Q] Alphabetic playlist in music player? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hello, guys!
How do you make an alphabetic playlist on your music player? Because the in build player of the Mini makes a complete mess from the files. No alphabetic order. I like to store all my music files in 1 single folder from where to play them. And I didn't have such problem with my previous SE java based phones.
Recently I read a topic on the net, to use Astro File manager to create a playlist, but there are a few files, that remain unordered every time. They go at the end of the playlist although their names have "a" or "b" or "c" at the beginning. So what player do you use, guys?
And one more question - is there any nice player, that has an equalizer and is able to do proper playlists?
Thanks for help in advance!

Music player that reads folders. .

Hello guys,
I have been looking for a music player that can go thru folders and able to add a particular song to a playlist that doesn't require opening the file.
Or as an alternative, an app like astro but with a music option to add an mp3 to a playlist.
Ny suggestions guys? Thanks a lot guys.

PowerAmp reads folders (or your library) and can add songs to a playlist by long pressing on the song.
If you want an app that builds playlists on the phone try Playlist Builder.
Mortplayer i think is what your looking fkr

Thank you guys for the replies.
PowerAmp sounds really good. I will try that as soon as I get a 2.2 update..

Thanks for the app recommendation but I can't add playlist with a long press. I will be keeping it though because atleast I can play a song inside a full folder. I am currently organizing all my MP3s and make main folders by genre and inside will be sub-folders of artists, and inside those sub-folders will be the songs. I am also editing the MP3 tags.
Thank you guys a lot.. These 2 players makes me a happy man. =)
If you use Windows I recommend Mp3Tag and if you want to create some playlists with your PC try Playlist Creator.
Thanks for the recommendation but mp3tag has no way to import tags but it can export tags in excel file though. I found a windows based program that is pretty powerful and can import and export, just can't think of the name right now.
Thanks again guys. I have been using mortmusic player for the last 5 days and I love this app even without making a playlist. The way I am organizing my mp3s I probably wouldn't need playlist anyway..
Have you tried Mixzing? I got it recently looking for something that would play by folder, since all my music is meticulously organized by folder even though many don't have artist or album tags of any kind. Most music players split up all my organizing to try to re-organize by album or artist, which doesn't work for me.
Mixzing works great for me, so far. And it goes out and downloads album and artist info if I want it to.
I downloaded MortPlayer to try, too, but I just haven't gotten around to playing with it much.
My mp3 music is organized the same as yours and I want to play music by folders and sub-folders. Mp3 tags just doesnt work for me. I played with mixzing before with my HTC evo but never really satisfied with it hence why I was still looking. Atleast for now, mortplayer is keeping me happy.

where is the music playlist file stored?

Anybody know the music playlist file stored?
It is very time consuming to rearrange the song order for more than 100 song. I want to see whether I can edit it by computer.
thanks
Why don't you just make an m3u file using iTunes/Songbird/WinAmp/WindowsMediaPlayer. I think the music player can read the file if you add that to your music folder.
Does M3U supported by Stock ROM
I tried to use MyPlaylist App to create a m3u. However, it seems the Samsung I9100 stock Music Player doesn't support m3u playlist format.
Any idea?
Then use MP3tag (google it, it's on a German site, but it's in English) on your pc to sort the tracks and add track-numbers to the ID3 tag. The music player will recognize them in this order.
All this hassle is why you should try a different music player

SamSung Galaxy Player 4.2 playlist - observations and question

On my SGP 4.2 I noticed that both the stock Samsung music player and Poweramp seem to "eat" m3u playlist.
This is what has been happening. I would put together a playlist (m3u) file then put that file into a folder called playlist at the root of the ext.SD and as soon as I disconnect from the PC and launch either players the playlist (the physical m3u file) will disappear.
In the case of the SamSung player the playlist will show up under playlist even though the m3u file is no longer there. In the case of Poweramp the playlist will show up briefly and then it playlist will show that it is empty and vanish alltogether.
The work-around I found was to use pls files instead of m3u files and the stock Samsung music player sees and works with the pls file without making it vanish. I stopped using Poweramp due to other bugs so I have no idea if Poweramp behaves the same way around pls files.
Question: does anyone one know where and how the stock Samsung music player store it's playlist (one that was created within the program) ?
Knowing that will give me more options when manipulating playlists.
Thanks!

music playlist

question about music player wanted to know that is it possible to make playlist in computer add song on that play list like in windows media player or itunes and just place that playlist on s2 . now i have put song in phone then make playlist in music player its annoying is there any to make or place the playlists i have on my system to my galaxy s2. like iphone
Yep, you can make playlists with WMP (or other apps like MediaMonkey) on PC & transfer to the phone, provided the app you're using for music on the phone supports the format of the playlist. Most should support WMP playlists I would have thought.
I know this works with Neutron (or it did the last time I used it in October before it had native playlist capabilities, which the dev has introduced since); don't know about other apps like stock music player, never used them (because stock player is rubbish anyway). Try it & see if you're using another app; make a small playlist in Windoze (say 4-5 songs so you don't waste ages making one only to have it not work on the phone) & test it out with the music app you're using. If WMP playlists don't work, try MediaMonkey or another PC based music app.

Looking for A MUSIC Player

Hello to all.
As the title of thread says i am looking for a music player for my kitkat android phone. I would love a few suggestions from you guys. The basic three functions i require are
1) Custom Playlist: I should be able to make playlists.
2) Custom Selection of folders: I do not want it to scan all my device memory and put every audio file in the playlist. I should direct it to the folders i want to be auto scanned and updated each time i add a new song in that folder. Each Playlist will have different folder set in its settings for songs. (Reason: i have different types of songs like sad, party etc in their named folders. So i want to direct Sad playlist to play songs in folder Sad, Party Playlist to play songs from folder Party and so on.
3) This one is not very important but it will be good if it look beautiful and with a lot of functions.
Thank you. Please give some suggestions.

Well if one of the playlists can be password protected then it would be just awesome.
