i just got my gtab and i downgraded it from 4349 to 3588 and i cant get cwm to install whenever i try to get into bootloader i get the box with the arrow then it restarts
Are you using the internal or external sd card install file?
I use the external sd card install method & do the following: Extract the file & place the recovery folder & update.zip file onto the parent directory of your sd card. While holding the volume+ button down press the power button & hold both of those down until you see "detect a recovery key pressed" message. At this point you can release those buttons & hopefully CWM should install.
I know that you can also install CWM via NV Flash, but I'm not to keen on how its done.
NVFlash then install try to install CWM
And remember when booting into apx mode it is Powerbutton and Volume DOWN! here is a link on how to NVFlash (a really helpful tool): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
Hope this helps

hello, I need some help. I have rooted my fascinate, but everytime i try and back it up in ROM manager, i get a message after the backup utility starts saying that file not found aborted in red letters. i got odin red recovery as suggested and tried that but it still gives me that error. i want to be able to back it up so i can download some more roms. phone is working fine, just not able to back up
Just backup in Red recovery. Don't use rom manager.
can u give me a little more info on how to do this
Boot to recovery by
1- power off phone, then hold volume up and down then power phone on continuing to hold the volume keys
2- if you are in "red recovery continue to next step. If not in red, choose "apply update.zip"
3- use volume keys to navigate up or down In recovery. Choose "backup and restore" then use power button to select
4- choose backup.
5- wait for backup to finish.
I followed the instruction for installing the clockworkmod on viewsonic gtablet. I placed the update.zip and the recovery folder in the internal storage. I reboot the tablet (power and volume+)
The box with the down arrow appeared, and then I pressed apply update.zip, and then nothing happered for a long time. So I reboot it and tried to do the same steps again. BUT now it stuck when I reboot it at "Booting recovery kernel image"
so what shall I do?????
Depends...
1) Does it always reboot to "Booting recovery image..." or only when you're holding the volume up key? If not... can it boot normally?
2) What ROM are you running?
Hi,
I got the US Version of the 10.1 32GB WiFi Only.
I already own a SGS and i am "acquainted" with the whole odin, flash, adb etc. procedure.
Now i am at a loss.
The tab will not go to recovery mode when i use "adb reboot recover", instead it just shuts down and shows the battery charge screen.
However when i press the volume keys while powering on i can choose between download and recovery and enter the recovery mode..
Unfortunately i cant access the "sd card" from there...
I "adb pushed" the "root hack.zip" to /sdcard/hack.zip and i can see the file amongst others via shell.
In Recovery mode it just shows an empty directory and the error message "E: unknown volume for path"
So how do i become root?
Any help is very much appreciated!
figured it out.
can be closed..
What was the fix?

What was the fix?
Click to collapse
shut off the tab, connected to pc, wait for battery animation, press power followed quickly by volume down (the left volume key) your tab starts but with two icons, download (odin) and fastboot (usb), press left volume key to choose and right volume key to confirm!
Once in Fastboot, load a recovery.img file attached to my posted address, make sure the computer detects your device as adb **** device. Now boot to recovery, commands included in the post. Than factory rest or install any ***.zip (custom recovery, overclock kernel, superuser root package etc) file from sd card.

P.S. loading clockworkmod recovery enables adb commands when booted into recovery
please help i have motorola atrix 4g at&t and please the link of neutrino or codename rom :c
if you are in CM9 that means, you have a rooted and bootloader unlocked atrix with CWM recovery. I will help you buddy...
PREPARE YOUR PHONE FOR FLASH THE ROM;
-make sure you have installed the drivers of motorola. It is recommended for your pc to recognise your phone when you connect it.
-(I recommend GT version, it is FAST and battery life is great! Better than EE.) Download the rom and the addons on the link>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26657806&postcount=7819
-put the files in your SD CARD.( put the .zip files to your SD CARD, do not extract!)
-PREPARE yourself for the flashing
1) FULL WIPE
- https://www.dropbox.com/s/1tgt2yax88rp2mi/Moto-Fastboot FULL WIPE.rar <<< DOWNLOAD THIS.
-Power off your phone.
-open your phone in FASTBOOT mode. (press power button and volume down at the same time until you see 'Fastboot' on the screen, then press Volume up to activate it. Connect your phone to your PC.
-RUN the "Moto-FB Full Wipe.bat" and follow the instructions. (I remember that you should only press ENTER )
2)FLASHING ROM
-Power off your phone and POWER ON with POWER ON+VOLUME DOWN again.
-When you see Fastboot, Navigate with the power down button until you see ANDROID RECOVERY. (I think you should press 7 times to power down to see, if you pass it do not press up to go back just keep pressing vol down to see it again.) When you see Android Recovery Press VOL UP to enter the recovery.
-navigate to 'install .zip from sd card' with using vol up or down then press POWER ON button to enter.
-'choose .zip file from sd card' and power on button to enter again.
-find your Neutrino2.8GT.zip file and press power on!
-It will install in 15-20 seconds.
-then install the ADDONS by following the same method. (install zip from sd>choose zip from sd>default camera apk(that was the one of the addons.)) You may install all of them or some of them, depends on you. But just install them all
-after you done, reboot your phone by selecting 'reboot the phone' in the CWM recovery menu.
-ENJOY YOUR AWESOME ROM.
PRESS THE "THANKS" IF I HELPED!
Okay so following the guide from getdriodtips how to root and install twrp
Have done all the steps flawlessly
But when I
"Boot your phone into recovery by by pressing “Volume Down + Power” button simultaneously."
That just makes it go into factory mode??
& if i do power + volume up that is just regular phone recovery mode...
SO I don't get it!?
It does say put supersuzip into root but i cant find root folder anywhere? So it's just in file explorer/internalsharedstorage.
Also am i meant to extract it - i have just the raw zip file?

Please help me someone!?
