Nandroid Backup - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey!
Really quick question. I might be being a bit thick - but after performing a Nandroid backup I want to move it off my phone to my laptop for save keeping.
Unfortunately I can't find it.
Does anyone know where the Nandroid backup is stored? On my Hero it was just stored in a dir called Nandoroid....
Thanks!
Arran

**BUMP**
Could someone give me a quick answer please? I'm sure its a really simple path to the backup and I'm being blind!!

Sorry - found it.
Under a dir called clockworkmod on the SD Card.
Told you I was blind!
**Case Closed!**

Get settings from apps from a Nandroid image

Hello! I didn't know where else to post, so I did it here. Please relocate this topic if it is in the incorrect place because I don't know any better.
Anyway. I've installed AK Notepad on my old ROM and did a Nandroid. I have only one note in there which I'd like to extract. I have extracted the data.img and system.img on my PC and I can find the .apk, but I can't find that one note that was written in there. Is there a way to find it? Or maybe if I can't extract the note, can I copy the settings somewhere in my phone so the AK Notepad will act as if it is that one on the old ROM where I wrote that note?
Um, why don't you just make a new backup, then restore the backup with the note, email or text the note or whatever, then restore your new backup you made, shouldn't take more than ten minutes.
Yes, but still, I would like to know if this is possible.
Ak Notepad APP database internal storage
/data/data/com.akproduction.notepad/databases/aknotepad.db
pretty sure Titanium Backup also lets you install things from nandroid backups. Not sure it it's apps (or apps + data only) or if it'll let you do "data only" restores. But if you've already got it installed, might be worth a shot.

Titanium backup with dropbox to inplant restores on new device?

I have had titanium on my thinderbolt since I got it, and run backups pretty much every week. My question is: is there a way to take the backups that are in my dropbox, and inplant them onto the titanium backup on my galaxy 10.1? thanks
edit: it used the search function, and hasn't gotten the hose yet
i havent done it myself yet but try this:
download the folder onto your phone and move it to the root of your sdcard. then go to settings>batch and under restore, choose the operation that suits your situation

Broken Nandroid Backup, want to restore it

Hi all.
I have backed up my razr yesterday because today i was making a guide in one of my local forums.
i backed it up with Bootmenu (for ICS) that has been released here in the development section, but i cuted it while it was backing up the webtop partition because i needed the phone with me on the go.
now it fails to restore it manually because of this stupid MD5 checksum...
there is any way to restore that backup by myself?
maybe accessing to the phones root folder?
It would really help me if someone knows the answer.
Thanks in advance
I guess your phone run out of space while performing backup.
Which partition you want to restore?? (except webtop.. it's broken)
It will be easy for me to help you if you can list down all files (*.tar) inside the backup folder you make yesterday

phone may be replaced, need to backup for the new one

my phone crashed during a billiard game and now the screen shattered, it's fine cause i have warranty but i don't know if they'll change the screen or replace the phone so i need to know everything is backed up.
i have a backup with titanium, and cmw and i know they both save the backup in the sdcard but does they can restore the information to a new phone? i just need to put the sdcard in the new one and titanium will restore the information?
second question, i have a lot of reminders in the "notes" widget that i can not remember, can i run the phone in a virtual machine in the computer even just once to see what i wrote there? i really need those notes.
thank you very much, sorry on my English and all have a good day and a great weekend
Yes. You should be able to restore your CWM backup to your new phone. You won't need your Ti backup as the CWM backup is a 'snapshot' of your phone at the time you took the backup.
the thing is the CMW backup is a bit old, can i restore the TI in a new phone?
what about getting the notes back?(i need them before the phone will be fixed)
OK. Think about what a CWM backup is & what happens when you restore one.
When you restore a CWM backup your phone (all of it; app settings, etc) will be restored exactly as they were when you took the backup.
The Ti Backup might restore OK to a different phone, never heard of anyone on here trying it, so you're only going to find that out when you try it.
As long as the version of CWM you use to do the restore isn't too far away from the version you used to take the backup, it should restore OK. If it doesn't, you might have to flash a kernel with the same CWM version you used to make the backup (to make a certainty of the restore working).\\
You can use ADB to pull stuff off a phone with a broken screen. Lots of tutorials about same on here/elsewhere (search).

thank you very much, new question, can i somehow backup (a cmw backup) the phone without the screen?
do you know in which folder the notes widget and the info of what i wrote is in the sdcard?
i've opened the phone on the coputer, but no folder contains the info for the notes widget, where the phone contains it?

[Q] Backing up specific .APK files?

Hi all,
I have a number of paid and other apps I want to make a physical backup with on my computer. I'd like to try to figure out what the .apk filename is, but the filenames are confusing and not relevant to the app that they represent. I have a Titanium backup as well as a nandroid backup, but again the filenames are not intuitive enough to figure out, and the nandroid backup is a gigantic 900mb compressed image.
That said, is there a way to figure out which filename.apk relates to which actual app?
Thanks,
Opethfan89
I'm not sure exactly how to do this, but I'm curious why you need a backup on a computer? Your purchase history is stored by Google, and apps can be re-downloaded any time you need. APK names are a mixed bag...kind of whatever the developer wants. There's probably info out there for each app, though.
