[Q] Original firmware allows multiple widgets on a page? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Somewhere I've seen a screenshot of a white X10 mini pro, with multiple widgets on a page. It seemed the original 2.1 firmware with the usual apps in the 4 corners, but even there there were differences: the apps in the angles were 3 instead of 1 each angle. Is it possible? I've tried to put back the original firmware to test it (I was mounting a cyanogen 6), but the firmware was the usual one...
Does anyone know anything about this?

I believe the picture you saw were of the new minis probably.

[Q] Launcher Pro not working on X10 mini/mini pro [ANSWERED]

Hi fellow X10 mini (pro) owners
We already know that there are problems with finding all apps and games, as most won't show in the market.
But now I want to install Launcher pro (which i found on their website) and it can't be installed.
Is there a way to change things to apps that they can be installed or is this a really a screen size problem for which it won't work?
Anybody els tried to install it?
It is only made for Android 2.1 and 2.2.
X10 is 1.6 (Donut).

thx guys, fair enough.
I should have known, but I'm so used to having 2.1 on my HTC hero now that I forgot that there was an older android on some phones.

Me too
try adwlauncher, works awesome on my X10mini
its free and you can download it on the market
have fun
I use Home++ beta which also works very good.
I recommend HelixLauncher Donut - works great
ADW and Helix works perfect.SlideScreen is interesting but need improve.
Well... Proclaiming that Helix Launcher works perfect is somewhat of an overstatement...
It brings two nice additions to the table:
1 - Several widgets on one screen (Allthough it is impossible to achieve good looks in doing this, since most widgets are not well adapted to the small screen)
2 - All apps on one long page in the drawer...
Everything else is equal or worse than the original SE homescreen. It is a little bit more laggy than the original (sometimes - definately not noticably smoother/faster at least), and you loose functionality like beeing able to uninstall app's easily (two-click operation on original) which you will be doing alot when playing around in the market...
If the 2.1 update from SE adds theme'ing, multiple widgets and the possibility of a one-page app drawer, then there will be no point in installing these third party home screens for any other reason than adding a little fiddle-around-effect.
But... Who needs a better reason anyway? Check them all out, that's what I say )
Just to let you know, I have x10 mini pro and it works like a charm! It actually made my phone just x100 time more beautiful and useful.

[PROBLEM] Mobisystems dictionaries: Icons don't stay placed in HOMESCREEN

http://www.mobisystems.com/product/569_1_16/2.12/CollinsEnglishDictAndThes.apk
http://www.mobisystems.com/product/900_1_16/2.12/VOXGeneralAndThes.apk
If you install only one dictionary, there is no problem. But if you install 2 or more, the dashboard icons have a conflict, and when you reboot they appear at the end of the last screen. Icons don't stick in the possition you put them.
I'm using a SE X10 mini with the latest 2.1 official update. I'd like to know if you can replicate your problem in the mini / mini pro / and other phones. The two links are direct downloads (500kb only) for 2 dictionaries (7 day trial). No need to download the offline data or even run the apps to check the problem.
Thanks.
No one tested it?

SonyBread E10 Launchers

Hi all,
I'm just testing this ROM again and I found one problem (despite the fact that it's a gorgeous ROM) and that's the SE launcher. The stock launcher with it has the corners which I'm not a fan of (it's too small as screen). If I try to remove that launcher an put in any other SE launcher e.g. my favourite, the Arc, it works UNTIL you reboot/backup/flash the phone. When you come back to the main screen it says com.sonyericsson.something has crashed.
The only way around is either using the stock launcher or installing a non-SE launcher, which I've done until I can figure it out.
Anyone know what to do? As I say my aim is to use the Arc launcher which works on any other Gingerbread ROM I use, except this one.

[Q]/[MOD] Change Contacts/ Phonebook Layout

Hello guys,
this is my first post here so far and since there is no Q&A area for the ray, I hope it's OK to ask here.
On my Xperia Ray I'm currently running RayOniumICSv.5 which is essentially a modded Stock ICS with the usual Xperia interface.
I'd like to change the layout from the phonebook, either preferably the way it looked like on 2.3.4/ GB with the four seperate buttons on the lower edge
or like on the Xperia S with still only three button on the lower edge, however with a direct button for favourite contacts.
I already tried something similar with the keyboard. Since I prefer the old, grayish I simply copied the textinput-tng.apk and overwrote the old, which worked well so far.
Trying the same with the Phonebook.apk unfortunately didn't worked out. ICS essentially accepted both (I unpacked them from different ROMs), however both times with flaws: The GB Version turned out to work, yet the typepad section seemed to be flawed and unable to use. Using the Xperia S version, no call logs were displayed.
Is there any other possibility to redesign it?
I prefer the old layout the most because of the seperate buttons and especially because the favourite or starred contacts were directly accessible where in the ICS layout you have to go there over Groups -> Favourites. Another reason as well is the old list layout which is more assessable than the newer with (rather clunky) icons.
Thank you in advance!
