Does sprint have a return policy for evo 3d if your a current customer? Say for instance, HTC doesn't unlock the bootloader in 28 days can I just return the phone and get a evo back?

You have 30 days to return it but I dont think you can get your Evo back..
You can return the phone, pay a $35 restocking fee, and use your upgrade toward another phone.
Do you have to pay restock fee if there a problem with the phone

If there is a problem with the phone they will exchange for another EVO 3D

You won't get your EVO back. You can swap the EVO3D for another new phone.
So if you swap your existing EVO 4G to get a 3D, You will pay
199-150 trade in = 49.99.
And if you return the 3D within 30 days because you don't like it,
You >>
1) pay a 35 restocking fee, and can pick a different device.
What happens if you want the Evo 4G, which is $99.99 at Sprint?
Do they just give you that after you pay the $35 restocking fee?
Which means you just paid $150+49.99+35= $234.99 for that Evo 4G?
If the above is true, and I want to try the EVO 3D, I would keep my Evo 4G, and pay the $199.99 and if I kept the EVO 3D, I would have my Evo 4G as a back up.
Edit:
Ok. I guess Sprint would give you $49.99+150 (the EVO 4G trade-in)-35=$164.99 for a refund for your EVO 3D, and if you purchased the EVO 4G, Sprint would deduct $99.99 and refund you $65.00 before taxes of course.
In essence you would get about $11 back from Sprint, if you traded in a 4G to get the 3D (199.99-150=49.99, new 4G would be 99+35 for restocking fee, and you would get the difference back).
Just keep in mind, at least here in MD, Sprint's 30 day return policy is actually 29 since they count the 1st day of activation day 1. And then depending on if there are 30 or 31 days in the month. To make a long story short, my wife purchased a Nexus S 4G on May 15th, and tried to return the phone on June 14th, but according to there math, it was day 31, not day 30, even though Customer Care told the store manager (at 2 different stores btw), that they needed to go back to school to learn math...
Needless to say, she is still stuck the Nexus with its flakey signal issues...
Of course YMMV? Just my FYI on Sprint's return policy!
The question i have is can i just upgrade to evo 3d now and try it to see if i am ok with it and then if i like it give the evo back to sprint for 150$ at a later date? Does the 150 I get go towards my bill or only credit towards buying anything from sprint like accessories or new device?
Related
If I traded my EVO in for the $150 credit towards my 3d and decide to return the 3d, would I get an EVO back in return? I know I wouldn't get my original EVO but any EVO since i did the trade in?

. I'm guessing a credit on your bill.. or a check in the mail.
If you ***** enough they might give you a EVO 4G
sent from a 3devo
i think they give me the option to use that for another phone but not sure
I heard they r giving $100 fir Evo 4G now.

To buy a BRAND NEW evo it's 99.99 on a 2yr Agreement
Trade in of an Evo is 150.00 credit
You have to completely separate transactions.
1) you bought an EVO 3D
2) you "sold" sprint your EVO for $150
Depending on how you paid for your 3D one of 2 things will happen:
1) If you billed it to your Accounts monthly bill then you have a 199.99 + taxes transaction and a 150 credit. If you return the 3D the you will have the 199.99 + taxes transaction reversed leaving you with a 150 credit. You could then purchase a new EVO 4G for 99.99 + taxes and still have some of your 150 credit left.
2) If you paid with a CC and they just deducted the 150.00 from the price (not sure that was an option at all) then they will refund you CC what ever they charged and you would be left with a "SPRINT" credit for 150 to put it towards and new phone you want. So you can still buy a NEW EVO 4G for 99.99 with your credit and you will not be any $$ out of pocket...
Point here is that you SOLD you EVO to sprint for 150 so you cannot just undo that transaction. The only thing you can do is decide what to do with the 150 they gave you for it.
Hope that helps!

Sure you can sell it. You could sell it and then activate a cheap $20 Sprint phone on your account if you wanted to. Just sell the Evo, and put it towards the cost of the 3d. Or you could get in touch with Sprint's customer retention and see if they'd be able to push your full $150 upgrade through for ya. They did for me, as I was also in the middle of my 2 year contract. They pushed the 150 upgrade for me, and I was able to get the Evo 3d for 199. Good luck.
Just go to a 3rd party Sprint store and ask the guy to back date your contract, that's what I do and I get upgrades whenever I want
I was in your position, I bought out of my contract for $75 so I could buy @ full upgrade pricing, gave my EVO 4G to Sprint for $150 through the buyback program & bought the 3D for $199. All billed to my Sprint account.

Seriously? Have you even looked at any of the suggestions? Who the f*** knows how much you will end up paying, or receiving.
We have no idea. Full price of the EVO 3D $549.99, price w/2yr upgrade $199.99. Price you receive from selling your current phone (?). Read the previous posts, use the info contained within, call Sprint. Help us to help you.
Do a little reading, try and help yourself, at least a little bit. Here's a link to my post about 3 posts back, read the links and you will find your answers.

Hey, guys. Here's a thread that's not about ICS.
So I've been thinking about getting the new EVO because honestly, I'm done with this phone. It's getting old, beaten, and less responsive. I do not want to return this for a refurbished, due to the fact I unlocked my phone using revolutionary and would not like to deal with the new hboot method.
I'm also getting very slow data speeds, even on Wimax, and coverage for me is spotty at best. The airave is a little help, except for the fact, that from time to time it would send the same text message 17 times.
I don't really use much internet, so i wouldn't mind giving up my unlimited for a 2GB data plan on ATT. I messed with the Note and it is AMAZING especially LTE. Point is, does anyone know if I could recieve an upgrade from Sprint early? That way, I would stay with sprint, get the new Evo, and see if Sprints coverage and LTE is actually worth staying for another two years. I've been a Sprint Premiere gold customer since I joined when the original EVO was out, but now that they have gotten rid of it, I don't see the need to pay 100 a month for service that is mediocre at best. I'm willing to pay the ETF to leave for something better.
I know this should be in Q&A but the Evo 3D forums on XDA have been such a mess, I doubt it matters. Thanks for reading guys.

The only thing I could think of is to wait until the new Evo comes out and ours is past end of life and warranty it a few times. Might have to start before the new one comes out so you can get a 90 day warranty on the refurb before yours original warranty is up. I actually thought about this myself.

So you are saying you have to give up your phone and pay $100.00 EFT to get out of your contract 1 year early?
The ETF at 12 months is $240.00. So you are saying that Sprint is giving you a $140.00 credit for your Evo 3d?
Edit: Found that Sprint is giving $99.00 for the Evo 3D buyback program (hell, they are still giving $90.00 for the Evo 4G). So you are about $40.00 off the price here.

My friend did the same thing when the 3d came out he was coming from the OG evo. He gave sprint his OG with the buyback program crediting him $100 bucks. Then he renewed his contract for another 2 years picking up the 3d for $100 bucks total with the $100 credit from his OG turn in. Now Im not sure if it was just that time it could be done because Sprint wasnt as popular at that time then it is now since picking up the iphone and the only carrier to have unlimited data. I hope that type of offer remains because I too want to get the new Evo LTE. I started up with Sprint when the 3D came out which was june 24 of last year so when the Evo LTE releases it should be my 1 year mark. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

Well it does say off of SRP, but I hope I can get it for the sub price.
My sister wants to get this phone and she is still on the EVO 4G.
I told her she could just buy out her contract if she wants the full discount. It's only $50.00 (she's a few months out).
The Corporate Sprint store said she had to hand in her old EVO 4G to do the Buyout. She wants to keep it and sell it (she already got offered like $130.00 for it).
She called Sprint and she said she had to go to a Store to do it.
I thought you could just call up sprint, payoff contract and then buy and Sprint phone after full discount from any authorized dealer with a 2 year renewel.
And sell your old phone any old time you want.
I bought out of my contract no problem...they never asked for me to return anything back....besides that she paid for her of EVO with her money I would call again and speak to a diffrent service rep....

No point in calling again. That info is correct. Sprint modified the program. It is no longer being performed thru customer care. This was done to reduce issues from the previous program.

A couple of internal docs regarding the new buy-out program were posted on Inside Sprint Now, which of course doesn't exist any more. Yes, starting in the second half of June early buy-outs are only supposed to be done through corp stores and yes, you have to turn in the phone that Sprint gave you in the previous upgrade cycle. The fee depends on the age of the current phone. It is a new program though, so you might still be able to do it the old way by calling customer service and without trading in your current phone, just depends on CSR's knowledge and luck.
Wow, just another reason to leave Sprint I guess. I think that's pretty dumb, as you essentially loose the money you paid for the device. Unless the money you paid to get the device is somehow subtracted from the price you pay to buy out the contract.
yeah this is bs, why would i pay off the rest of the fone just to turn in the fone and buy a new contract.... if sprint keeps this, they are gonna use alot of business....
You people are ridiculous....
How about you wait until your contract is up then? Then you can upgrade and keep your phone. If u want to upgrade early this is how you have to do it. Otherwise don't do it. Simple. Yet another reason to leave sprint? Lol. That sounds silly. Please explain to me how other providers run their buyout programs.

ok so i guess we're pretending that they didn't just take away the premire upgrades. you should be able to buy out the rest of your contract and not have to turn in the phone too, thats not a good deal, say you pay 165 to end your contract and then have to turn in a 500+ plus phone just do get a new one, might as well just pay the etf and keep the phone, u could actually make more money to get a new phone this way.

Just depends on the phone you have.
This is one specific program.. there are others
The push with buyback of the current phone in this specific program is the increased need for phone recycling, which sprint currently leads in.
The crying over contract changes that happened 6 months ago or more is just silly. Premium customers received one last upgrade to be used by end of year.

That's quick.
If they had at least 4g service in my area I would have gotten one, may still if the price is right. Then flash it to another carrier, I buy Sprint phones but never use Sprint/Sprint service - 3g service for 90$/mo is an outrage and nuts for me to agree to pay.
