[Q] Need Help with my X10 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have got really big problem with my x10 it was working fine before i installed tripnarc now my phone is really unstable it does turn but it restarts automatically or gives me wlod i tried flashing with seus flashtool nothing is working

Dude not to try and sound rude but you won't find much support for trip roms round here he is on another forum. If you look in my guide from my signature you will find links to flashtool thread and in there links to 'stock roms' which seus will then recognise and you can then repair your phone through seus. Oh and btw seus and flashtool tool are completely different things. Seus (sony ericcson update service, is officiall and from SE) where as flashtoolatest latest version to date being 2.9.1 is unofficial and was created by bin4ry and now maintained by androoxcide of XDA(not official but can root, optimize and install recovery to your phone, plus more). Both are good to restore back to stock but if seus won't recognise your phone then flashtool is the only way.
Also to consider have you you the right baseband installed and if so did you restore apps and data from a completely different install? Bad idea if you did, clean fresh, install is always recommended unless you really know what's safe to restore and what not to.

You shouldn't be messing around with custom ROMs if you can't follow instructions... or know how to restore to stock.
Use PC Companion or Update Service to repair and flash back to stock.
Then start over.
You obviously didn't have the right baseband, didn't use "Bad Behavior", or didn't format/wipe cache/etc.

[Q] Repairing phone after custom ROM

I recently was having problems with my x10 (running 2.1) trying to sync all the time and so decided it would be a good time to try out a 'custom ROM' that I had heard about to update to 2.3 (as o2 still havent provided the official update!).
After installing this however, I found that loads of features were force closing and so I now want to go back to 2.1. As I have changed some system files, the kernel, etc. I just wanted to check whether it is safe for me to simply connect to SEUS and repair the phone?

Use flash tool and flash back to your provider's stock ROM before doing a repair via SEUS since the custom ROM is most likely built on your provider's stock ROM.
Check development forum for flashtool thread and right there for the firmware, if it's not there then check the firmware thread.

Repairing with SEUS and flashing with flashtool does the same thing. But I would recommend OP to flash a global generic 2.3 firmware instead.

[Q] Help! First time rooting. Xperia bricked??? Have i lost phone for good?

Have an Xperia X10 with Android 2.1. Wanted to root my phone to upgrade to gingerbread. However i admit i got confused with the plethora of links and pages and 6 hours later i have a phone that only has "Sony Ericsson" written on it.
Here's how i started - based on DoomLord's instructions i installed Flashtool (from here) . HOwever I was unable to find xrecovery folders in the log messages.
Followed step by step procedure but realised that each time i upgraded the kernel, phone seemed to be going into some bootloop.
I realised that this may be due to my phone running on Android 2.1
SO i moved to another thread . Downloaded these files with the hope that they would work.
meanwhile was also following video through a similar page that was detailing the methods for installing custom ROMs. The reason i followed another source is only because the intsructions on all these pages seemed very confusing.
i believe i may have misled myself by following two different procedures here or the files i downloaded were incorrect.
After I upgraded the kernel as per doomlord's instructions, i went into xRecovery and formatted the data folders. I had already copied the ROM files provided by Doomlord in this thread onto my SD card under a new folder. However, xRecovery was asking for .Zip files while there were .7z .
Tl;dr - formatted data on xRecovery and did not have the correct updated files. phone is not functioning now
Tragically so, I am now left with an Xperia that only seems to be displaying the words "Sony Ericsson". I wish to learn from this experience but hope its not at the cost of a good phone!
Would the experts believe that this phone can be un-bricked now???
your phone is not bricked so dont worry. just make sure you have the newest flashtool. dont upgrade the kernel if you are staying on 2.1. if youhavent downgaded the kernel then do so. if it doesnt work, just download your baseband and firmware you want. as for rooting on 2.1, you can use super one click. for 2.3, you hav to use the flashtool
If you are on 2.1, then you don't have to go through all the downgrade/upgrade hassel.
Just turn on debugging and use flashtool/superoneclick to root.

Wow... such a relief to know that. Was exasperated and down-beat to even look at my phone.
please help me in identifying the right version of softwares and protocols to follow. In the current state, i connected my phone and flashed it once using flash tool but there has been no progress. Am i missing out a few steps?
How do i upgrade to 2.3 eventually?
Thanks a lot for the support and motivation
ok if you want to go to 2.3 download the firmware from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733
flash it through the flashtool but you have to be in flash mode.

Reading this from office now. Shall check in a few hours once i'm back home.

Not able to install any Rom

Having a few issues. Yesterday while using the twitter app, my Xperia X10 froze. I waited for like 5 minutes but it was still stuck so i took out the battery and put it back in. I restarted the phone and then my Wifi stopped working. After alot of reboots, wifi started to pick my wifi connection but then it would connect and give me limited connectivity. I did a few more reboots and then i think i went into xrecovery and by mistake recovered my phone to some earlier date which completely messed up my phone. Now i cant access my ROM i can only use xrecovery. If i try to load past the xrecovery, it shows the Sony Ericsson screen and then it goes blank, The notification light shows a white signal and then it restarts.. Then again it shows the SE Screen and again the white notification light and again restart.. this keeps on happening.
Anyway i decided it was time to install a new rom and it would solve my problems.. I put my phone in Xrecovery and tried to mount the SDcard but the memory card just wont show up on my computer for some reason..
Anyway then i took a card reader and put the roms on the root of my card and then put my card back into my phone.. After that i tried to install the custom zip but it gives me the error E: Cant mount /sdcard (device or resource busy)
WTF?
Can someone help me im clueless !!!
Okey i flashed the 2.1 Rom now.. Do i need to root my phone again? Do i need to install xrecovery again? :S
Hi if you flashed the stock 2.1 ROM then yes you will have to root the phone again and install xrecovery. I reckon you should update to 2.3.3 first using either flashtool, PC companion or SEUS which ever you prefer. Then root using flashtool 0.4.2 and install xrecovery using flashtool as well. Good luck hope this helps.
What rom do you use when phone froze? And why you flash first 2,1 rom? You must first flash 2.3, then root, install xrecovery, (unlock bootloaders if you want) and thats all
I was using 2.3.3 Wolfbreak i think ! Not sure.. Updated a 2-3 months back.
I flashed 2.1 because i read somewhere thats what people did when they got the mount sdcard problem in xrecovery.
Sorry if i sound like a noob but whats a bootloader and why would i unlock it?
Anyway im downloading 2.3.3 first and will then install xrecovery. I want to install one of the MIUI ROM's.. Which one should i install? Which one is the most stable and has the most features?
Unlocked bootloaders just allows change boot logo I think) And for miui I'd suggest oddie or a1exander roms, they are stable and everthing work
Sorry for bad english
Thanks !!!
Installing 2.3.3 right now. Will let you guys know if there's any problem.. Thanks again
Before you install xrecovery don't forget to root first I would use flashtool 0.4.2 for this check out the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 The bootloader as i understand it is basically the very start of the bootup loads the kernel then the ROM loads. The white Sony Ericsson logo when you fist power on the phone is generated by the bootloader. A couple of reasons to unlock the bootloader are to load custom kernels faster an they are more stable this way instead of the bootloader bypass method. Some ROM's e.g Cyanogenmod need an unlocked bootloader I believe. BEWARE I heard of people bricking there phone during the unlock process i would do plenty of research before unlocking. I would have a read of these threads before unlocking your bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253277&highlight=unlock+bootloader+proper+method . I still have not been game enough to unlock my bootloader yet phone still under warranty thought. Good luck nothing wrong with being a noob we all start some where I am a noob too just with lots of reading and experimentation behind me.
Thanks !
Okey well im going for this:
1. Flash 2.3.3 Rom using flashtool
2. Install xrecovery using flash tool
3. Install Alexander's miui by using custom zip in xrecovery (right?)
That should be it? Do i really need to unlock boot loader? Dont really want to mess anything up
Firts root and then install xrecovery Don't install Alexander miui version 11, wait tomorow. 11v have many bugs:/ Don't afraid nulock bootloaders, just read instructions, not rush and everything be okay
Forry for bad english.
2.3.3 installed.
Trying to root it, But flashtool's root button is greyed out ?
Installl drivers from flashtool folder?
Done but still greyed out.. Also enabled USB debugging and unknown applications in the phone
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808 read instructions and be happy You must first install kernel I think:/
How do i install kernel ?
You don't need to install a kernel yet you have the stock kernel installed already from the 2.3.3 install. Have you put the phone in flash mode before you try and root it. If not put it in flash mode then try and root. Note the op posted is using the old version of flashtool so it will look a bit different.
In that post all write just read You know how put phone in flash mode?
Nope.. The root option in flashtool is just greyed out no matter if im in flash mode or not.
My kernel is 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 [email protected] #1
Android: 2.3.3
Baseband: 2.1.71
Buildnumber: 3.0.1.G.0.75
I hope i flashed the correct 2.3.3 rom? I had a 2.3.3 rom by the name of x10_2.3_aro.ftf I flashed that.
Don't understand. Just follow intructions in my link. No matter that flashtool version old, it makes their job.
Sorry for bad english.
OK I think you need to go back to basics download Sony PC companion and update or repair your firmware from there that way you know you had the right version of firmware for your phone. Firmware can be carrier dependant. Once this is done then try to root using flashtool

[Q] Attempted to install MiniCM7, now stuck at logo. possible to go back to stock?

Hello All.
I followed the install guide for MiniCM7, but after rebooting the Sony Ericsson Logo stays on the screen. not a constant reboot cycle, the words just stay there.
searching around these forums, it seems one of SEUS, FlashTool, or to a lesser extent PC Companion should be able to restore the phone, but the products from SE report no updates found and no matter which version of FlashTool or which firmware I try it aborts immediately.
I can, however, get into CWM. can anything be done from there?
If I'm not mistaken se PC companion and se update service says your phone is upto date and there is an option repair which flashes to 2.1 ie the latest update
Click on the repair option and it will again flash the official rom ..
Don't forget to click the thanks button
just used the firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294579 and it flashed fine. only question is do I bother trying all this again.

did you ever tried to unlock the boot loader?
it seems not
so learn how to unlock it, and then retry (i don't think you've read all the miniCM7 thread's first post and FAQ thread's first and third post)
and please, use flashtool 0.2.9.1
just do the factory reset in CWM recovery

[Q]SE Neo MT15i restoring ROM back factory state

Owner of a Sony Ericsson Neo MT15i, first i unlocked the phone trough the Sony website, then installed Cyanogenmod 7.2.0-RC1 trough fastboot, experienced quite a few bugs and some features missing, so currently i have installed a generic firmware MT15i_4.0.2.A.0.42 trough flashtool (temporary).
So i've been searching on google as well as on XDA forums but can't find a clear lead where to get or how to install the official SE MT15i Android and Kernel (either the links are dead because they once were hosted at Megaupload or the download speed is in bps not kbps because the files are being hosted in China) - i don't want any Super-Cool-Over-The-Top-MegaPerformance-ROM ... i just wan't the the phone back to stock ROM(mainly because i'm looking forward to selling it in the near future).
I also had an idea about creating a image or ROM from another MT15i Neo from a colleague at workplace but there are no pointers that i could find how to do it or if it would work as a stock version. I'm sure that there has to be a way to get the official updates to work - it can't possibly be that impossible... can it?

One little advice that can be very helpful in future: when you install custom roms, first make a nandroid backup via CWM.
Just connect phone to pc and run pccompanion or sus....
That will get your phone back the latest version (For your region) and your phone will be as it was "Out of the box" again.

to update via PC Companion, you need to relock bootloader, otherwise you'll get a message like "You can't upgrade because you have modified software in your phone".
Ah! So that's why it didn't work! Cheers! From the moment when i made the first post till now have had the version posted in the second post, so i only need to relock the bootloader.
