[Q] How do I change the Battery icon on toolbar? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I just bought my SGS2 yesterday and had been charging it overnight. I looked at some of the battery indicators you guys have, which features a circular mode with numbers in it, indicating the percentage of battery life left. How do I get that? Mine is still the default battery icon with green juice in it.

You read the guides in the themes and apps section. Requires root as you are changing system files

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Is that the only way? to flash and play with the codings of the phone? Or can I just download sometihng off the market instead?
Main reason being I dont know how to play with codes and am just afraid that I might be doing something which I shouldn't.
Thanks.

Would suggest you to just get something like Battery Indicator off the market if you don't want to root.
It won't replace your battery icon but it'll show your battery level in 1% increments in your notification area.

Thanks!~ Will get the curve-fish one then...
main reason for not flashing or rooting is because i don't wanna void my warranty...

Hi Guys,
I was looking at SiMi clock widget... downloaded it and started using it. What strikes me is that the size stays 2x1. Is there anyway to enlarge the size to 3x1 or even 4x1?

Sorry guys. Already figured that out. Thanks anyway~!

just sent in my "defective" phone (hardware locked) and got a new one today that isn't hardware locked (yay)... and i forgot what apps i had... so does anyone wanna give me suggestions for good apps... paid/free doesn't matter
what i have so far
Advanced Task Killer
Beautiful Widget
GPS Test
Quadrant
ESPN Widget
i need a battery app, i had one before that i liked but can't find it again, so can someone suggest one to me, it MUST have the percentage shown as an icon on the top
BattStat. It's a battery widget.
Rather than install a duplicative battery widget why not root your phone and change the icon already on the task bar to show the percentage? There should be a number of posts with options on this site if you search.
I'd also add Rom Manager (clockwork) and Root Explorer to your list.

Aren't apps based on your needs? Not your needs based on apps?
And battery replacement icons are all over and provided through MetaMorph too, try to search once and awhile.

It just depends on your personal preference,
I personally like,
Nimbuzz
Fringg
Metamorph
Google Voice
Rom Manager
Launcher Pro
For montoring battery status, space left on SD, internal memory or free ram, I used to use SysTray Monitor. It puts a percent in the notification area for one of these four things. I used it on my MT3G to show SD space. I then used it on my Vibrant for the correct battery charge until I found the Circular Battery Clockword mod. That shows the battery percent and, more importantly, it is accurate.
Eggz
Talking Tom Cat
Twidoyd
Urbanspoon
Wertago
Sim Checker
Movie Downloader (Ability to download movies directly to phone instead of just playing them)
NFL Game Center
Asphalt
Backbreaker
Air Hockey

Numeric Battery?

So, coming from an iPhone, the one thing I really miss is having a numeric battery. I was wondering if I could get the battery percentage on my status bar like I did on my iPhone.
I don't mean apps you download on the android marker that just has a battery notification that keeps displaying the percentage... but an actual mod made for the Samsung Vibrant that shows it next to the actually battery status on the top right of the status bar.
Sorry if I'm missing something huge here. Thanks!
If you check the Vibrant Theme and Apps section, you can find plenty of numerical battery mods.
Here's an example of one:

Thanks a bunch!
Just ran this, and it looks fantastic... much better than that of the iPhone.
The FrankinTwiz ROM has a numeric battery icon. Be careful with the circular battery mod and other mods for the status and notification bars as they clashed for me and caused a startup loop that prevented the phone from finishing the startup.

I will be wary of that. Hopefully this is the only mod I will apply to my status bar... so things should be ok.
With Frankin-Wiz you just have to make sure you flash the correct version to the correct Rom. Been there and boot looped.

Trust me, I started out with this little mod too.. but I couldn't stop myself after that
I'm trying to stay away from flashing ROMs because my Vibrant is hardware locked though.

Is it possible.

Hi.
Have been reading in t I have upgraded my Xperia S to 4.04CH, and it is a joy.
However, google / Sony have not optimized the usage of the screen of the smartphone, so the number of icons & apps available on every screen is limited.
Is there any way, that one coul "rearrange" the icons and free space on the different screens.
To illustrate i have taken a couple of screenshots.
Yellow boxes are items that ought to be moved
White boxes are umused areas that could be brought to use.
Anyone have any idea of how to do the above ?
Furthermore - is there a way, to get the phone to display a number 0-99/100 instead of the battery icon ?
Hope you have got some ideas
Thanks

you have to have root (and recovery is essential as well if you don't know how to use adb) and modify system files to achieve that. look in the Themes & Apps section, someone has already done that and made the flashable zips available for download.
regarding the home screen issue, again, you have to modify the apk file itself; edit the layout then rebuild the apk and flash/push it back to you phone. there's also a modded home screen app in the Themes & Apps section, though i haven't check what has been changed, so take a looky there.

But you need root

As far as battery icon goes, il take the question further and ask: does the uot kitchen work with sxs files?

Changing Battery Icons

Hey People,
I just got myself a SGS3 yesterday and I have been used to using OUT kitchen to change batteri icons etc on my SGS2. But how would I go about doing that on my SGS3?. I think the stock battery icon is hidious and I want battery %. And yes I know I can activate that in settings.
But activating % in settings means my battery icons takes up 2 spots while flashing another battery icon would mena that I could have both and yet only use "1" space on it.
So the question is, is it possible and how.

[Q] Email in thor-gapps-rom V2

Does anyone else's Email app crash immediately using the thor-gapps-rom V2? I searched all over forum and couldn't find anyone reporting this so am thinking I may be the only one. Would have posted in Dev section but I don't have enough posts yet.
It works for me
do u know how to show the battery percent?
Actually, seems like it's just the exchange portion that isn't working. Sorry, I don't know how to display battery percentage.

GravityBox's Status Bar settings allows you to change the battery as well as show percentage.
