I installed CM7 on my x10 mini pro but I'd like to give Srom a shot.My question is whether I m going to be able to flash srom with clockworkmod and if I am going ot be able to restore CM7 because last time I tried I bricked the phone.
Make back ups and back ups of them and back up with titanium and give it ago you can resore it them easly but if it does realy break just start again and once you get back root and cwm just restore

I'm very noob with all this rom and rooting stuff. With that said I was trying to put in bionix 1.3 last night upgrading from 1.2. I'm messing around in the directory and I see format /data, /system etc. I'm thinking hmmm fresh start??? WRONG!!! now my vibrant won't get past the Vibrant screen. Am I screwed?
You should be fine if u did a nandroid. Just restore and you'll be ok.

unfortunately I'm not that smart
download mode.
Odin.
everyone's happy.
o.m.g nooooooooo DONT ODIN ! just reflash the rom , u deleted the files from system where your system was your phone has no system to boot in too if u reflash a rom through clockwork should work as well as it will reinstall the system , (not that im against odin back to stock but for some people odin might create moree problems that its worth it, like phone-!-pc)
If you don't have a nandroid maybe you could get someone to upload a nandroid of their phone for you. Then you an use that to restore your phone.

Use the Vibrant Toolbox here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509 flash back to stock using the instructions in the toolbox and re root. You're good to go.
Hey people,
I updated my X10i yesterday to zdzihu's freeX10 beta 4, using baseband 2.1.54.
I backupped my data with xrecovery and with sony Ericsson's backup and restore, but I'm unable to retrieve the data.
Backup and restore isn't stock on the rom, and I can't install a .apk file, when I do so my phone says "application not installed".
I tried advanced restore in xrecovery to restore only data, but then my phone gets stuck on the boot screen with the sony ericsson logo, so I have to pull out my battery, restart xrecovery and restore a backup which I performed just after the update.
I would really like to get my data back, is there any way to do this? And how can I prevent such data loss in the future?

I would suggest a fresh install of free x10 beta4... DO NOT RESTORE ANY THING.. the problem is that you are updating from anDroiD 2.1 to 2.2.. a whole version... apps cannot be restored if you jump from one version to another...
HIT THANKS BUTTON IF HELPED IN
ANYWAY..!

Both won't work. You should've backed up your data with mybackuppro or similar apps.... I ran into the same problem (since I used the stock backup & restore app).
I think the only way to retrieve the data (contacts, sms etc.) is to flash back to the stock rom, and back up your data with other apps before flash to custom rom again. As for the apps, I hope you kept a copy in your computer somewhere if it's not on the SD...
This maybe helpful... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979561
Ah yes I haven't thought about that!
Where can I get an official 2.1 rom? I was looking on the forum but I don't know which version I have to choose, as I live in Holland but there are only German and United Kingdom versions to download?

It shouldn't matter... as long as it's the 2.1 rom it should have the original backup & restore app installed. So you could restore your data with it and backup with something else.
This thread has all the firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10879519&postcount=2
I think you should go with X10i 2.1_2.0.2.A.0.24_GENERIC with DualTouch.
Press thanks if this helped
I had rooted x10. Now it is a brick. I've installed Anim Mod from market. I've set blurry effect and app asked to reboot m phone. After reboot it stucks on SONY ERICSSON text. Help!

Like the other hundred topics about this, use seus and reflash to stock
This is only way?

You can either use:
1. SEUS and reflash the SE official 2.1
2. Use flashtool.
3. If you created a backup using xRecovery, you can restore it.
No backup
You cant brick the x10 just shut down the phone press and hold back button insert usb and.tada you're in flash mode. Your data will be lost but hey phone will work again

Don't u know that X10 is like John Rambo or smthing. Can't be bricked. Just flash.

My x10 was rooted on 2.1 before the .435 update, after i did the .435 update it wont root (z4root)
Im going thru threads to see how that problem was solved but to no avail,
i followed steps set out here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-922931.html but i get stuck on step 7 because flashtool wont recognose the x10 unless its switched on and step 5 and 6 indicate that the x10 must still be switched off. Pls advice
You can use SuperOneclick to root your x10...

hows the CM ROM?
Id like to try out but not sure if ill install it well
It ain't rocket science, and as long as you got busybox and xrecovery installed, there is little you can do wrong..
It's all pretty neat explained in the ROM threads

hey man, you can actually use xRecovery to backup your phone (create a backup) that can be restored at a later date. This way you can backup, flash a new ROM to play/test with, then restore your original ROM when done.
Note: you will NOT be able to restore contacts/apps/settings into the test ROM with this method, for that you will need to use something like My Backup Root before flashing the test ROM.
hope that makes sense

@mrtim123 thanx, now i understand what xrecovery is for, i thought thats what titanium back is for because i backed up when i upgraded to .435. My contacts are synced to my laptop so i can get them back thats ok.
Ive installed the flash tool on my laptop, now i gotta find the CM Installation thread to install.i hear that the CM ROM makes your phone faster and battery lasts longer, will my apps need to be re installed again from xrecovery or will they remain on the phone with the new CM ROM?

You have to do a full wipe before installing the new ROM.
That means you have to reinstall/restore your apps.
And it would be better not to restore data via xrecovery, you can get force close or maybe you have to flash the ROM again
I prefer restoring via an app like titanium backup or my backup root.

depends on the rom.. some require se's files. some dont... depends on the rom.

hey man, when you flash a ROM using xRec (and do full wipe) the first time you boot your phone is like when you first get the phone - no non-standard apps, no contacts, no anything (except what is on your sd card). you will be able to restore apps that you backed up using MyBackupRoot or Titanium backup though, once you have booted into the new ROM.
have fun!
btw - click on CyanogenMod link in my signature for the thread on Wolfbreaks CM rom
Im running [CM 6.1.3]scamble[v1.2] and it runs super smooth. There are alot of good ROMs out there though. Flash, test, and choose one that works for you. Happy Flashing
Hi
Since a few weeks my phone turnes itself off accidentally, during any operation or just lying lazy on the desk. I had ARHD 6.5 since 6 months or so and I replaced it with 6.7 like 3 days ago, hoping this will solve the problem but it didn't. So I wanna try the stock rom and see whether it helps or not, and if it won't I'll send it to rma. My question is how to recover original soft from nandroid backup, cause I tried and got stuck with bootloop. Do I have to recover the old firmware as well? I found some thread on how to remove clockwork and root, put the phone back S-ON and so on but I would have to recover stock rom first, right? I know I can also flash the stock rom, but the only one I found is not matching perfectly my original one, so I would rather get it back from backup. This phone is just so freaking annoying...
Thanks in advance
You have to boot into custom recovery, be it clockworkmod or another one, then go into "backups and recovery", and from there, restore from backup, then you have to choose your nandroid backup, provided that you have performed it, and select restore (all).
That's it, good luck.

I've done it already but as I wrote before I ended up in bootloop. I think it might be caused by firmware which I flashed in order to install ARHD (Firmware from 3.33.401.6 & 3.33.401.106 RUU). But I don't have any info about the version of previous FW and don't really know if this is the issue.
Anyone? Please have mercy, I'm getting killed by this phone. Help
