Trying to upgrade a galaxy ace through kies because the owner doesnt want to root, but it keeps freezing on 0% if kies doesnt freeze before that.
Any ideas apart from retrying and or reinstalling kies?

You can UNROOT it HERE
or just FLASH the STOCK FIRMWARE(FROYO[from SAMFIRMWARE], or what ever it was BEFORE), with ODIN.

If you've rooted your phone, and installed CWM....just go installed custom JB ROM
If your region doesn't have JB provided yet, you will not get it officially....
That's not purpose of having root on your phone

Flash a stock firmware from sammobile.com using ODIN.
This will also unroot your phone.
If you have the option to update your phone, and I think you have, just click to check your software version, do it over wifi, so I've done to me, you'll have official jb, un rooted.
So..that will earase all data?!! Or it will keep it..apps and all thing
And link plz for the last firmware in egypt..i have found 4.1.1 for egypt on sammobile..but csn't download it..is that one ok?!and link for it plz

I rooted my stock 4.0.4 and then OTA updates wouldn't function at all. I've found that updating through Kies via USB cable overrides this. I couldn't try this with my own phone as I already flashed a stock JB rom, but tried it with my mom's and worked perfectly well.
U have upgrade roored ics to jb via kies with out flash stock one first?"!!

Try thanking the bloke above for giving you a steer on what you might need to do, go away, do a little research on Kies lite and then come back later if you need more help. If not, root and install any ROM that your heart desires.

YOU DON'T NEED ROOT! just to install firmware!
just use Odin and whatever firmware along with the guides on the forum
So my S2 died the other day and I went to buy a i9300. Now I've been searching about S3 rooting and I've found conflicting info on this.
So when I first rooted my old S2 I did it with a temporary CWM that disapeared ofter reboot stayed in stock with stock kernel and kies was able to update my firmwsre without deleting root. I actualy updated from 2.3.5 to ICS via kies without removing root or loosing it after.
I was wondering if the same could be done with the i9300 I want to remain stock for now and don't want to replace stock recovery with CWM. Is there a temporary CWM for S3 so I can push the SU binary to system part without flashing anything over stock?

I did try the search button. The only thing i found was someone talking about the new recovery in S3 only flashing signed packages from samsung or something like that.
Thats why i opened a new thread to see if someone had some new info on it.

CF-AUTO ROOT. Installs only the SuperSU app. Does not install custom recovery. Dunno about updates, though. I think it supports OTA.

Use CF Auto Root from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957273 Download Odin and the CF auto root for your phone all instructions are on this thread
You can still update via Kies as long as everything is kept stock even though its rooted but you wont get any OTA updates that wont work

Yes the update will remove root but after update simply flash root with odin again, only takes a few minutes

So basically I updated my galaxy s2 t989 to jellybean so I would get the upgraded radio so I could install custom roms. After upgrading through Samsung kies I tried again and got stuck in a collaterals recovery boot loop. I restored to a previous backup before I upgraded but the problem is I am back on 4.0.4 but It kept the 4.1.2 radio. So now kies says my firmware is not compatible to upgrade. Is this common or am I totally screwed?

Although I do not personally own an S2 the common method is finding a radio version at 4.0.4 and flashing that. Finding it will be the difficult part. Ask around and see if one of your buddies (XDA is your buddy ) has a copy that they can lend you.

As I said. I don't own any Samsung devices so I can't help you there. Basic andoiud help is finding a raido and flashing it through a recovery, CWM or otherwise.
