Hi all
Just got my gtablet and installed a custom rom on it ( Vegan-Tab Ginger Edition )
All was fine till the famous " the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly." I have tried to opening and disconnecting the battery, waiting for the battery to drain. etc. But to no avail
I followed the steps on NVflash to try to restore the firmware back to stock
I had the 1.2
at first, when i used NVflash, i manage to install the rom. However, when i power down the unit, it was unable to power up . Look thru the forum and found out that some of the user here also had this problem
Finally after 10 hours of trying, I manage to install this " alternate nvflash for gtablet zip file" from gtablet-for-dummiesl.
Now I am able to on and off as per normal.
However, I cannot get the system to enter CWM. Then every i press the on and the vol + , it just shows DETECT A RECOVERY KEY PRESS / BOOTING RECOVERY KERNAL IMAGE and it just hangs there forever.
When i connect the tablet to my computer , using the ES file explorer /SD card/ and a LOST.DIR
Will any kind soul out there.. please help. I am really at a total lost of what to do next
Thanks
Did you partition your SD card in CWM before installing vegan? It's part 1 step 7 of this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
and it's a critical to avoiding random FC's.
Sounds like you may want to get back to a stock baseline (via NVflash) and follow the tutorial above.
This site has many tutorials as well:
http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/
Good luck!
1st what you will need to do is download this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974422 what it will do is erase everything including any current rom and things on your device completely.
Then you must NVFlash after that to reinstall the stock ROM.
Hope this helps
Hi
1. Format the gtablet ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974422)
DONE ! Now am I on 1.1 or 1.2 using the format.zip ?
2. Install CWM ( http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/clockworkmod.htm ) - using the external SD card method for 1.2 rom ???
3. Clear / format data etc
4. Install ROM by using NVflash to either 1.1 or 1.2 ?
Are the steps correct ?
At this point just use code red on my start here page. Link in siggy.
What you originally did wrong was put the wrong cwm on the wrong branch.

1- After using the format the tablet should no longer be having a rom on it (not even stock rom)
2- NVFlash (Back to normal)
3-After NVFlashing you normally need to do an OTA update to 3588 which is the 1.1 bootloader
4- CWM Internal or External your choice REMEMBER TO PARTITION (2048 for first choice and 0 for the second)
5- Install the 1.1 rom of your choice
Please refer to this page for details on installing a custom rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
Please refer to this page for details on NVFlashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
BUT BEFORE GOING AHEAD AND DOING THIS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO AHEAD TO GOODINTENTIONS WEB SITE THE LINK IS IN HIS SIGGY AND I THINK HE WILL HAVE WAYYYYYY BETTER AND SAFER INFORMATION FOR YOU
And remember step 4 partitioning is very important!!!!!! But thats as far as i know =/ I do not guaruntee this will work but I really hope it does.
Hope this helped
http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/starthere.htm go to code red.
BTW your problem was you used the wrong clockworkmod for your branch
Thanks .
ok. I have formatted. And I have a red Magic value mismatch ( Which I presume is correct as I have formatted the drive )
Now, following CODE RED. I have downloaded stock Rom 1.1 branch zip with CWM pre-installed. Saved the file and unzip the folder ( BTW I am using windows 7 )
OK. I have created a folder with the stock rom 1.1 branch and the nvflash_windows_20100500.zip
UNzip both file and let it run
Rebooted to TNT. Now I think casue i have mess up my partition, it keeps showing " the application email ( process com.android.email ) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again .
Understand I have to use CWM to repartition the internal SD.
However, now the problem is the same. I cannot get it to enter CWM by pressing the power and +

Hi jjkoolj8282,
Problem is now because of the partition i keep getting error and there is no way for me to get into CWM
once I power off my gtablet, I will not be able to power it on again
Was wondering is there anyway for me to repartition the internal SD before installing the ROM
I have tried using
Part III - NVFlash for the few. (Most of you will ignore this part)
For some people there are some incompatibilities with the nvflash for windows files in Part B. If you are one of the unfortunates who have done Part B and got an error, then use the alternate nvflash for gtablet zip file. Follow the same procedure in Part B, but replace the file in step 1 with this file.
with NVflash for windows and it allows me to turn on and off the gtablet
However, there is no CWM
How do I get CWM onto this so that I can repartion the internal SD ?
Please help
hmmm. the partition should if anything help....
i cannot stress enough
1- make sure you are on 1.1 and make sure you installed cwm v08
if you are on 1.2 you must have this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125379 you must nvflash if you find out you are on the wrong cwm
and 2- the partition is after NVFlash and before the custom rom and the sizes are 2048 for the first choice and 0 for the second
NVflash again (i know annoying) check you bootloader and then install the correct CWM.
if all else fails go to goodintentions website and then over to code red and maybe even double red
the part you added to your post is out of my league....but i saw the power on problem somewhere else....i'll give you a link if i find it which i will look now
hi
As you mentioned , I have formated it. Thus I am neither on 1.1 nor 1.2 . Am I correct ?
I have chose the 1.1 with CWM
How do i enter CWM before it boots into TNT ?

once you formatted it you must nvflash it (i may be repeating myself but i am sharing what i would do) follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950 so you are back to the stock ROM
and from there you should be able to put CWM on the correct bl
cwm entering is entered by holding the power button with the volume + button simutaneously and you will see recovery key detected
WOW !! at long last.. manage to enter CWM.
Tried using the double code red. pressing the + button while it was NVing and + button before it loads into TNT
IT shows clockwork recovery v2.5.11 bekit 0.8
Is this the version 8 ? the latest one ?
YES> !!! it booted up nicely after doing the repartition and fix permission !!!!
Sorry for noob question
Hope my luck last..
It is probably on 1.1 since it booted into CWM 08 which is also 8
It is not the latest one, you dont want the latest one. the reccomended version is the one you are on
and if something goes wrong....again lol
just NVFlash and try again. this stuff is hard work xD
yupe. really hard work..
after 20 hours of work !! and mostly importantly..

you can't believe how happy i am for you lol
yes update to 1.1-3588 but not further!!!!!!
then most roms are compatible with your bootloader, which after you updating it is 1.1
but always check for the bootloader information about a rom
if you have any more problems just PM me and always remember how to NVFlash because it'll come in handy.
Thanks thanks
I really thought that my gtablet was going to be a paper weight
Will play around with the 1.1 before deciding again to take the plunge to flash a new 1.1 rom .
What do you recommand ? TNT lite ?

TNT lite is a very good ROM, but my personal favorite is Vegan Tab 5.1 which is a froyo ROM . The only difference is pretty much looks, but TNT Lite is retired so it is hard to get unless you already have it.
Thanks . Will try the Vegan tab in a while
It always baffles me how a hand full of people get problems that I can't for the life of me replicate. I must admit that, sometimes, I doubt these problems really do exist. Can anyone (preferably a tech or a dev) confirm that these problems really do exist?

Hey xda forums, first time poster, long time reader. I rooted my Nook color from these forums and find them to be most informative. I just got back from hiking the Grand Canyon to find my G Tablet waiting for me from Woot.
As I did with my Nook, I immediately started to replace the stock rom with Cyanogenmod 7 beta. I followed the instructions on the Wiki, including installing Gapps, by putting them on the internal SD and using CWM to install from zip. After everything was done however I am now stuck at the Viewsonic splash screen. I tried to read thru the Googles and tried reflashing back to stock by way of some instructions on DroidPirate I think it was, to no avail. I can't even see my external SD card to load the update to recover. Please help. Anyone?
I would get nvflash set up with bekit's images and flash that to get yourself back to a working stock image. Follow the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950
After that, put Clockworkmod ( v .8, get it from development forum) on it and repartition your sdcard to 2048 and 0 then you should be ready to flash.
Then get a ROM from the development forum here, there are some based off cm7 (gingerbread builds).
I was hoping not to have to use NVflash cuz people report problems with the boot loop, however I havent found any other option so far so I guess i'm trying that. Thanks for the link.
Xxlgeek,
Every time I hear boot loop I think re-partition -- because most of the time that
seems to fix the problem.
I agree you should NVFlash to get a stock version working. Then install CWM so
you can partition -- and the do the Fix Permissions, Wipe Dalvik Cache, Wipe
Cache, Wipe Factory Data.
With that I would try to wind up with a stock machine and let it OTA up to 3588.
I wouldn't load another Alternate Rom until I knew my tablet is working good and
until I know a lot more about the roms and how to work with the G-Tablet.
IMHO.
Rev
I can actually boot into CWM right now. I already repartitioned and wiped all the caches. But when I try to flash Cyanogenmod 7 again, which is on the root of the internal memory, it just does the same thing, won't load past splash screen.
Xxlgeek,
If it didn't work, I would erase the Cyanogenmod 7 file -- and I would go back to a stock rom until I could make sure all the hardware is working right and the system
is stable.
When you know the tablet is good and stable, you can always download and re-do.

doesnt matter all the gbread roms do this when the error happens. thats why i am starting to think its the bootloader
Just throwing this out there. I bought 2 from Woot myself. On my first G-Tab I had the same issue with every single ROM I tried. I finally used NVFlash to go back to stock and everything was good again. I then flashed to the G-Harmony Gingerbread ROM and it worked and still runs like a CHAMP. Now, I finally get the other G-Tab out and start to go through the same routine as the first and it's been a no go repeatedly. I have mostly been trying with the Cyanogen 7 Final ROM to no avail and even with the G-Harmony. Going to try NVFlash on number 2 tab and see what the result is and will post back in a bit with updates.
Ok, I said I would reply and here it is. The downside is this.... The NVFlash worked great and put me back to stock. The bad part is that I am not sure that was what actually caused the problem to occur in the first place on the second tablet. I had read right before doing this that installing the Clockwork mod from the SD card instead can be a fix as well. I did that this time through. It also shows something different on the screen when you hold down the start and vol+ buttons than it was when CWM was installed wrong.
So basically this:
Run NV Flash (Detailed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950 )
Run Clockwork Mod FROM THE SD CARD!!! (Detailed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245 )
Then proceed to follow those exact instructions from the same thread.
Do not skip stuff, do not think you have a better path, just do it all as described. I now have a G-Tablet running the Cyanogen Mod 7 Final release SMOOTH as glass! Hope this helps someone else out.

2 partitions are reversed and Gingerbread roms don't like it. Using bekits original nvflash files will fix the partitioning permanently as far as flashing between froyo and gingerbread.
Any official updates from viewsonic past 3588 have a locked bootloader and require viewsonics kernel so you must use Gojimis fix or nvflash to go back.
Edit.....This is not all tablets. I'm guessing around 30% or so have the 2 reversed partitions but it seems 50% of the woot tabs. Helped fix many of these on irc in the last 2 weeks

Are they in the same directory. If they are not then nvflash can not find the files to flash. Both zips have to be unzipped in the same directory and the driver has to work. You must be able to see the tablet from the computer when you boot into apx mode. APX mode is power/vol- NOT power/vol+

but now i want to return to the stock recovery...so how to uninstall clockworkmod?

savage,
You install CWM to replace the stock recovery. Therefore, you have to re-install the
stock recovery. If you were using a stock rom like say 3588, you would just reinstall
the rom again and let it overwrite CWM.
But since I don't know what rom you are using, you need to check the source of
your rom, make sure it contains the stock recovery -- and then inquire of the issuer
of the rom whether or not you should re-install or do some other special procedure.

sorry for the confusion~
GTAB ROM is not granular enough - you running stock or a modded ROM? If so, which ROM?
I can reply for TNT Lite 4.3.0+ or gADAM 1.3.0+ - there's a script setup to go back to standard recovery. If you are running either of these, please see my first posts on those ROMs for instructions on what to do. Again, this is only if you are running TNT Lite or gADAM.
You can also attempt to flash standard recovery using a build 3588 standard recovery firmware image in PART3 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005080

problem with installing CWM
I got my gtablet yesterday and tried to install CWM v.8 using external micro SD card. It looked like it was half way done because it could not reboot by itself and stuck at a screen asking for reboot. So I selected reboot but it did not reboot. I had to force it to close. When I pressed volume+ and power, it had this message on the upper left coner: Recover key detected, booting recovery kernel image and 3 birds in the middle of the screen. It stuck there forever without doing anything. I only installed Z4root and nothing else. How can I remove the half-done CWM and redo it again. If I can do it again, what should I look out to avoid the same error?

If you got your tablet yesterday, then it probqbly had firmware 1.2.4349 on it, which is a 1.2 bootloader firmware. You tried installing a CWM made for a 1.1 bootloader. how much research did you do prior to modding? Seeing as you installed Z4root, I'd imagine that you didn't do much, as it's not needed at all to root your G-tab.
go to http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/ and start reading at "START HERE" to get an idea of what your dealing with, and what you can and can't do...look through the entire site!
to get out of where you are now, and back to a workable base, follow the "CODE RED" instructions here: http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/
Lastly...don't do anything else silly until you've read and understand all of the instructions on Goodintentions site...it's a GREAT resource and should be a pre-requisite for all new G-Tab owners.

Can anyone help me?
There are a couple of issues here.
First of all you need to determine which bootloader your gtab is on. There is a sticky which will help you with the whole bootloader issue. You are likely on 1.1, which is incompatible with the version of clockwork you loaded. You need clockwork .08 for the 1.1 bootloader. v3.0.2.8 only works with the 1.2 boot loader.
TNT lite has been retired, and although it is a solid ROM, it isn't being actively developed. The active "version" of TNT lite is hosted on slatedroid and is called Mountain Laurel (almost certain of the name, but I could be mixing them up). Both of those are based on the 1.2 bootloader.
Also TNT lite and Roebeet's other mods are typically installed via standard recovery rather than clockwork mod. This is at Roebeet's recommendation, and should have less rick of brickage.
Goodintention's site http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummies.webs.com/ should get you up to speed.
Your best bet at the moment may be a full restore with nvflash, which you can read about on the site above. The site will also help clear up the 1.1 vs 1.2 issues.
Thank you very much for the post!
I will follow your instructions and I will post a message tonite with the results of my experiment

You really need to go to my site gtab for dummies linked in my signature. There you will find step by step instructions on how to flash (install) a new rom. I hope you used the files provided on my site because the nvflash on my site came with cwm pre-installed. And on my site, you will also find a list of all available roms at this time. Just go there and see for yourself. Make sure you use the "start here" page.
If your on stock 3588 then this tutorial is a great reference guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
As for installing a ROM it's pretty straightforward and it doesn't sound like you'll have much trouble. Vegan Froyo and Vegan Gingerbread are great solid roms. There's a lot to try out so have fun.
Thank you very much for your help! I will work on this tomorrow and post the results!

Just to add my two cents - it looks like you are mixing up 1.1 / 1.2 dev branch items (luckily you didn't soft-brick!).
TNT Lite is a 1.1 ROM (no longer being developed), but my 3.0.2.8 rev5 cwm is for the 1.2 bootloader, so they aren't compatible. Perhaps you used another 3.0.2.8 that's not mine?
"Mountain Laurel", over in Slatedroid, is he successor to TNT Lite. It's based off stock 4349, and it's 1.2 dev branch based.
As for the cwm reboot issue, did you try and wipe data in the UI, with cwm installed? If so, the "cwm forever reboot" is known to happen. The "fix" is to get standard recovery installed so that way the data wipe completes.

I too am stuck in CWM. I was on the 1.2 ROM branch, and was using the CWM v3.0.2.8 (1.2 branch). How did you get out of CWM? I'm guessing you had to do a nvflash - I've done that before, but how do you get to the APX screen? (if that's what you did).
Roebeet also said "As for the cwm reboot issue, did you try and wipe data in the UI, with cwm installed? If so, the "cwm forever reboot" is known to happen. The "fix" is to get standard recovery installed so that way the data wipe completes."
1) yes I did a wipe data using CWM but not sure what Roebeet meant by "UI (user interface), with cwm installed" - I'm not sure how else I could do a CWM data wipe using the UI?
Edit: got it. In the UI, sometimes under Security, you can do a factory/data wipe from there.
2) The "fix" " is to get standard recovery installed - what is the "standard recovery"? and more importantly, how do I install it?
Edit: Is the standard recovery - going back to the gtab stock (depending on what branch you are on)?
I have a G-tablet that belongs to a friend. When they first bought it, I used Clockworkmod and installed Vegantab. everything worked great for a few weeks and then she said apps started randomly force closing more and more till it got to the point it was unusable. She didn't use it at all for a few weeks and now it will not get past the Viewsonic flash screen (3 Birds).
I got it from her and have tried everything I can think of to get it into any kind of boot or recovery screen. I used a new SD card (formatted) and then copied several different recovery files on to it. Hold Volume + and Power up.. Nothing. Still will not go past Viewsonic screen. Another SD card (Formatted) Copied ClockWorkMod v8 (Unzipped, Command file and update folder to the root, Nothing else on the card). Hold Power and Volume +.. Still nothing.
Any suggestions?? Will gladly paypal enough to buy a few drinks for anyone that help me out here.
I had the same trouble, If your GTAB is not broken (hardware issue) then follow this basic procedure located at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892090
You will need an update.zip so you can download zip files from Viewsonic's TNT page and just rename them to update.zip.
If this process does not seem to work then you will have to setup what is called NVFLASH and you will need APX drivers to do it, you can use this link to find the instructions and pertinant links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950 I have used this and followed exactly and was back on old stock rom. I ADVISE YOU TO READ AND REREAD this post then make sure you have all files and drivers before completing this, then you can go through the process and after that restore CWM recovery and go from there.
This is to restore the 1.1 BL along with stock 3588 image... if you like you can just get all stock updates to get you to the 1.2 BL as well then move on from there.
Basic instructions after the NVFLASH operation is succesfull to get back to CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
I hope this helps and props to roebeet, TeamSpeed, rr5678 and scsione889 for all the linked posts.
EDIT:
You may want to run this prior to any NVFLASH operation you do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974422
And only use this to format uSD cards. Time and again installs or fixes fail due to a bad format. Not saying that is the issue but always best to start with a good format.
Why don't you just nvflash it?
Google "nvflash for dummies" and follow those instructions, it might seems scary, but you just gotta follow the instructions correctly and everything will work out. This will return you to the stock tapntap rom.
Hi guys and girls, I have just purchased a HD2 and would like to install android gingerbread (or whatever is easiest and best)... i have read through the how-to threads on here made by tytung - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 - (including the apparent 'beginners' guide for installing ROMs etc) a million times and being the worlds most useless person with a mobile i just dont have the courage to do it as i dont understand none of the terminology or how to install any of the links etc... could somebody please point me in the direction of a full step-by-step guide for dummies lol
i am currently running on:
flash size: 512mb
OS version: 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
ROM version: 1.43.405.1 (70124) WWE
ROM date: 10/26/09
Radio version: 2.04.50.22_2
(i believe these are the ones most mentioned in the threads... but mean nothing to me )
i could literally do with the dummies guide with pictures the lot if possible lol.. BUT any help for a so called 'newb' would be very much appreciated.
thanks in advance
Tbh the easiest thing to do is flash hard spl then boot your desired build via SD. Unfortunately I'm on my phone so I can't link but if search the hd2 thread its all there. Also if you Google hd2 android Roms there all in one place and also tell u what type they are nand, SD ect. If I get to my PC later I'll link all the info.
Hope this helps.
Ok here u go all the info u need should be here. May have to paste the URL as im still on my phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732380
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D using XDA App
thanks for that... i would like to install the gingerbread android from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060 as this one looks like the newest/most stable version that has everything working..but because my phone has been factory reset and i think i need the correct radio i am not sure where to get that and how to install it onto the phone to even begin...
i am sorry, i know i am a complete hassle but ya know, the phone is expensive and im a newb, dont want to break it ....
(i held the down vol button and switched it on the other day to see what happens and then the phone didnt switch back on for like 5 mins after, it **** me right up lol, need to be totally sure im doing the right things from now on before i give myself a mental breakdown lol)
i do like the layout of that thread thought where its a step-by-step so id know if i were doing the right things
since the phone is stocked what i have downloaded so far is:
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe ... can somebody please confirm that this is the correct thing that i need to install first by going to ROMupdateutility.exe!! .. and anything else i need to do for this...
then i have ''DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF.rar'' downloaded
aswell as ''MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.2.0.0_for_NexusHD2_135M.zip'' and the ''NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7).zip''
but which HSPL is best to install to do this? and where to download it from? ... on some threads here they say that HSPL4 is the best, but others say that its not fully safe to use? ...
are these the only things that i have to have to install this? and could somebody please put up a quick step-by-step to install it all pleeeeeeeeeeease, i would be eternally grateful lol
Found this mate
The first thing to do is this
After that then follow step 2 and 3 of Installation Guide for MAGLDR 1.13 in the thread you have posted this will give you CWM and the actual ROM.
The first step is the trickiest but you only have to do it the once and then you can get most ROMs flashed. The most important thing is not to interupt any of the processes or you will brick the device. Btw have a look here too
i followed the steps from the first link you sent and installed recovery, magldr etc... but now on the last step when installing the nand android roms i am stuck...the steps are not clear and there are no roms links to download... the phone is in magldr mode now and i dont know what to do from here.... please help

View the "Detailed guide" section here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620 (it instructs you on how to flash roms via magldr; ignore the version of magldr mentioned in step 1).
whats happened is that i have put the gingerbread version from the link i posted into the sd root, but there are 3 files (boot, meta and system) but no files to run?????
i forgot to install the ''NexusHD2-Gingerbread_V3.2a_NAND_(Android-2.3.7).zip'' at the beginning to i installed it afterwards as another thread said i could do if i went into the USB mass stg ... but now, with the 3 files, i dont know what to run on my computer to install android :/

So follow the instructions given in that rom's post (See "Installation Guide for MAGLDR 1.13" in it's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060).
in the post it says ''Enter ClockworkMod Recovery when you're on MAGLDR 1.13 (hold "Power" button during boot) and select "AD Recovery" or "Boot AD SD" (if ever copied CWM's initrd.gz and zImage to SD).''
when i go to AD Recovery it says ''no boot sources''
when i go to Boot AS SD it says
''andoid load at 11800000
from microSD
load zimage
k: /zimage
SD KERNEL OPEN FAILED''

Have you unzipped the file because I believe you place the zip onto your SD still zipped up the flash it using CWM.
Somebody correct me i'm wrong please last thing I booted on my HD2 was via SD and was many months ago.
awww i am beginning to wish i hadnt started ... how do i do that now? i am at the main maglrd screen, when i go to USB mass storage and plug in my usb nothing comes up now either?
if nobody knows please just tell me how to cancel and put it back as it was with windows 6.5 ... thats better than nothing
OK go here and download the file. Unzip it to your desktop boot your handset normally copy the unzipped file to to the root of your SD card then open the folder with your phone and click CLRCAD nothing will happen dont worry then click haret. It should boot be patient as far as I can see it's the same ROM but just in SD format.
how do you run the handset normally now? i am at the magldr screen now and everytime i turn the phone it this screen comes up ...??

Installing magldr erases your OS, so basically it's the only thing on your device at this point.
RESOLVED !!
Massive thank you to Bebida for helping me to get this working .... the man is a legend !!!
the only issues i have found is that i cant add a new contact.. it goes to sync with email address (for some reason) but then after i fill in the details it still doesnt add ??? dont know whether im doing something wrong or whether theres an issue there !!!
and also every now and again, when i press the apps button it flickers but doesnt come on, but if i leave it a few minutes and then try again, or go into the settings screen it seems to work fine !!!
...
oh and also that the battery seems to be getting eaten rather quickly...whether thats because there alot more going on with the screen now with apps etc i dont know, but im having to order a back up battery i think because i dont have the time to charge up during the day

It may be worth going to settings>accounts&sync>google to see if you have auto sync contacts checked if so uncheck and try and add a contact again to see if it is related to that.
My best advise would be to look through the thread where you got the ROM as 9 outa 10 times the issues have been raised and a fix posted.
As for battery it's more than likely you have been hammering the usage and data downloading apps and stuff, I know I do when I flash a new ROM but again check the thread my man.
