Getting another EVO 3D - HTC EVO 3D

Hi, need to get a replacement EVO 3D since this one does not vibrate...my question is what is a good free app that will backup your phone completely so when getting my replacement, I can just install the app and restore everything. Is there one and would this even be possible?
Thanks

the evo 3d has a transfer app via bluetooth built in and if you activate the new device and log into the market your apps should show in the market

Cool, thanks for the reply, what about settings?

I don't believe the setting can be saved. Maybe with root, but unfortunately that's not here yet. I could be wrong though about the settings.

Pretty sure that your can back up your settings to Google. Should be under Settings>Privacy>Back up my settings..

Google removes tethering apps from Market for Sprint phones???

Don't know this has been noticed or mentioned before but it looks Sprint may have forced Google's hand & had them remove all of the tethering apps. I just rooted a friend's Evo Shift for him & noticed none of the tether apps were on the Market. Then checked from my phone & got this:

Thats strange. U can always hack the sprint hotspot. Thats what i use or just download .apks off of sites like 4shared or xda

link to the first?
The best versions are available from the Google site host anyway. No real loss here.

I noticed them slowly doing this... Best thing to use is Market Enabler for root users, or download the apk from another site.
Trying to be as helpful as I can.
didn't get either of those messages when i looked for them.
either way, i back up all my apps for this very reason. you never know when one of them won't be available anymore.
i have about 4 different mp3 dl's on my 3d right now... none of which are available on the market anymore. lol
4shared has a app in the markert

Barnacle also hosts the APK on their website
Hopefully it means we keep unlimited data on phones for another year or two.
Just did a search some popped up but get WiFi tether with yellow WiFi symbol it allows ps3 network to work I forget if its adhoc or other.
HTC EVO 3D rooted
So what?
All the ROMs you can install for the Evo 3D include either wifi tether and/or unlocked hotspot, anyways.

Yeah, right. hehe
I wonder if Sprint is hoping that root users buy their expensive tethering plan or stop using illegal tethering methods and free up some network traffic. I doubt either will happen.

tethering apps gone from Android Market?
Something is lost in the translation of that story, or it's totally made up.
Lookup "Wireless Tether for Root Users" on the Android Market. It's there
along with a few others. Frankly, I don't see much change from over a month ago. Pretty much the same variety of tethering apps as before.
Author's webpage for the app I mentioned is still on code dot google dot com.
Look up "android-wifi-tether" on that website for the specific page.
It's the one I downloaded over a month ago and it's still there today.
Works great.
Hmmm...have to check out that Hotspot hack. Sounds very interesting and possibly a cleaner way to achieve the same thing.
None of the tethering apps are still in the market for me. Nothing shows up when I search for them.

New Market: Play Store

Here's the new market apk for you guys if you don't get it.
Discuss below.........
Thanks
I have no idea what's goin on?
cool!
soo... what should i do to install it?
i know stuff that has to do with the market can get kinda touchy...
Careful, hearing reports it breaks bill to carrier option (it did for me...)

Kinda weird. I moved it to system/app and it names itself back to Market and has the old icon, but when opened, its the new Play store.

I took the update through the market itself, not the apk floating around and my bill to Sprint works just fine.
Bought World of Goo and Dead Space for .49 c
My bill to carrier was broken for some reason and I never got this update

When I switched phones a couple weeks ago that option went away for me. Not sure if it's sprint or the market. I've heard they started doing away with it March 1st. Not sure how true that is though.

I believe if you go into settings>applications>market and clear cache and data it will prompt you. It should anyway. Might need to reboot afterwards.

I don't think there is a notes app in the hub. I wanted it too, but I couldnt seemed to find one. Just downloaded Evernote
Flashlight is there and awesome as ever though
I'm also happy to know there are others who like some of the HTC apps, lol. Anyways, it finally allowed me to sign into HTC hub and I downloaded the flashlight app, but like you guys said, no notes app. Is there one like it with a widget where you can draw on it with your fingers?

Same issue and tried deleting and re-adding the account on the phone. Also my device does not show up when logging into htcsense.com. Original error on the phone when signing up for the account included something along the lines of "could not access sense" (not exact wording)
Add me to the list...I cant download the flashlight either. Im signed in but the download doesnt work. The download button just greys out for a few seconds then returns to normal.
One thing I would also recommend is try logging out of HTC Sense on any of your other devices. I know I couldn't sign into HTC Sense on my Jetstream because I was already signed in on my EVO 4G, now I cleared all data from it on both devices and am thinking maybe that's why I was finally able to sign in on my EVO LTE.
I tried downloading flashlight again from htc hub and this time it worked. It only took a couple days and about 30 attempts lol.

Repurchasing apps

I just upgraded from the og evo to the lte, do i have to repurchase apps such "documents to go" and tapatalk.
Thanks in advance.
Not if you use the same gmail account. Install on as many as you like.
As long as you use the same email from your old EVO you won't have too.

I still have my paid apps from the hero says. I changed phones 4 times since then. You have to be using a different gmail account.

It's linked to your GMAIL email
ive carried over apps from the HTC Hero days to my HTC Evo 4G, HTC EVO 3D and My Evo 4g LTE
Using the Gmail account you purchased your apps under, open play store, upper right hand corner open up the user control panel and select "My Apps". From this point you have two tabs "Installed" and "All". Any apps you purchased but don't have installed can be found and reinstalled by navigating to "All" and scrolling through your previous purchases/installs. I'm not too sure if the apps you purchased have to be uninstalled from your previous device before you can install onto another one. Either way hope this helps.

I have a 4g, a 3d, a 4g lte. I've used X-Android on an old Windows Mobile phone, had in my possession a couple of Samsung Galaxy Tabs, made several android installs on various phones and devices rooted and unrooted.
Never have I ever had to repurchase an app I bought before as long as I used the same gmail account with the phone/device.
/writer for a tech blog, nothing weird going on with me and google cheating.
I had a similar problem on my mom's OG EVO. I had her email set up, but I also signed in with mines to restore apps that I purchased, There was a glitch that almost had me repurchasing apps. I think I solved it by going into recovery and wiping both cache and dalvik. If anything... you could always do a fresh install of the ROM.
Funny thing is, I have the same Gmail account on my Asus Transform and my Moto Droid 4. I just purchased R-Type and Blazing Star last night for my tablet. This morning I tried to download them for my phone and it had a price tag on it. Also, there was an icon of the circle with a line through it above the price. Like I have to repurchase the app for my phone. Did google change something in their TOS recently?

It's happened to me before. I logged out and rebooted the phone with fast boot turned off. I logged back in and let everything sync for a min. Worked after that
I went to the market and removed the old phone and from there I pushed any apps that were purchased that wouldn't show up as purchased on my LTE
Weird, after a reboot today, I noticed that those apps are now available for download. however the circle with the line through it is still above the word "purchased" now.

If I'm not mistaken, the circle with the bar just means its not currently installed on the device. I could be wrong tho, but that's what it seems like as I'm looking through the list of "my apps". On my purchased and installed apps, it says installed without any circle.

change your device id to whatever the one x is. i know our phone is something like PJ7500 or something like that, just have to find out what the one x is and then if in theory should work
edit: if you open up your build.prop it should be near the top i believe. to find the one x id just download a one x rom and poke around in the zip till you find the build.prop and just jack it from there

U only want to change 4 lines in build.prop tho. Don't just jack the whole file and substitute one x for EVO LTE build.prop.
U change everywhere it says jewel to whatever one x is and PJ75 to whatever one x is. But only in those instances, think like 4 times it occurs.
just go to gameloft.com i got the game from there is 4.99

The problem with Gameloft is that they suddenly claim the games aren't compatible and sell the exact same ones on their site. I honestly see no reason to support such a terrible company.

Good luck talking them into crediting you if you switch your phone. I refuse to rebuy the games I just bought on the market. They say not compatible when that is not the case at all. They use device checks to limit the devices that can install and I know they run fine on this hardware. All the games on the market are blocked
