[Q] Could some check if this service/app is running on boot? - HTC EVO 3D

It would appear as IQAgent or CarrierIQ or something similar.
Thanks.

I don't have those running after a reboot. I checked under "Running" and "All"

Thanks for checking. As long as CIQ is not installed on the phone and the bootloader gets unlocked I'm dumping my Epic4G.

Flashed Pershoots kernal. Where to go now?

I just flashed his newest version and downloaded setcpu. I want to over clock it just a little. But how do I do this? In setcpu I selected custom and it came up to a screen. that has 2 sliders. (1 says max and the other says min) But they are both set at 19.2MHz. Even though the tablet is runnin between 216MHZ and 900MHz. So how do I do it?
Dont use custom when installing setCPU, use automatic.

I sideloaded it from the xda link. I didnt download it through the market. On the first screen, I selected custom and the highest it will go to it 500MHz. So I then went back and selected the Nvidia Tegra 2 which can go to 1000MHz. But still cant figure out how to go over 100Mhz. Where is the automatic setting?

Right on the installation menu (where tegra-2 is listed), might be named "Auto-detect" though.
Sorry for the confusion.

Since you already used "custom" have your tried uninstall and manually remove the settings file then reinstall and see if custom would appear ?
I also sideloaded mine from here.

4.0.3 ICS stuck on "Installing applications"

Updated my Galaxy S2 from 2.3.6 to 4.0.3 and everything went fine but when i got to installing applications i got to about 80% so i restarted and it went to what i think is 99%-100%, a wiped cache and it reinstall applications but same thing stuck on installating apps.
When you say 'installing apps' do you mean when the phone syncs with your google account and re-installs your apps from the market, or are you trying to manually install them yourself from the market or backups i.e. titanium?

no the screen is black and there is a bar thats full and a text above that says installing applications the phone is in "desktop" but its above so i cant use the phone, it was first improving apps (318) and then this.
Its all a part of updating the phone to ICS
Ah sorry yes I remember that bit now when I upgraded. Didn't have any problems for me, Maybe a full wipe of everything including the cache in CWM before flashing again might help. Besides that there's not much more I could really suggest. I'm sure there's someone here a bit more advanced that could help your problem.

Is the version from samfirmware that I'm using along with cfroot with no problems. Make sure to do all the wipes (FR, Cache, Dalvik Cache). It worked for me the first time. Also, it's an awesome stock rom.

i was stuped not to write it all down so i dont know versions beside KL1 when i was picking firmware file, a really dont want to wipe everything cause i lose all my data etc, a did a backup with cwm manager on 2.3.6 but i dont know if i can use that when i have 4.0.3?
I had a similar issue when i first upgrated to ICS. Stuck on "Installing Applications" screen for a while - but i just left it and eventually it went through ok.
Did you ever resolve your issue?
Hi guys, i have the same error, my phone is stucked at the "Installing Applications" screen. I have contacted samsung trough the chat service at their website but they told me to leave it at the samsung service but i don't want to leave it there for around 30 days. I read that with a hard reset it will go back to work again. My question is: How I do a hard reset with my phone stucked? I don't have root.
Will take time if you were updating , if 15 minutes or more have passed do a data cache wipe from recovery.
And remember what wipe means...

Hi, thanks for your help. I did a wipe cache but it didn't help. Wiped data and now my phone is working again and with ICS. But without my old data.
Hi,
I've just got the same problem, but could solve WITHOUT WIPING. Do the following:
- Restart phone
- on the lock screen, instead of swiping and getting stuck in "installing applications", just drop down notifications
- on notifications menu, tap where it should say "low on disk space". It will open "Applications" from the setting menu.
- Uninstall some apps until you get around "250MB" from the 2GB reserved by the system (250MB was what worked for me, that's the reason of the number; I had lower than 200MB before). I tried to move apps to SD Card to no avail, that's why I uninstalled the apps.
Hope this helps.
I had the same problem too.
Tried something similar to mbernstein
I had wave launcher still installed since it was an upgrade and i opened up my file manager with it and deleted around 1 GB backup stuff. Then restarted. It didn't work. Restarted again and then it didn't get stuck at the same place
Hope it helps

Worked for me, but, because I have locked my phone with a pattern, when I unlock it sends me direct to "installing app...", so I had to run the Task manager and from it drop down notifications then follow the rest. Thanks mbernstein!

How to disable OTA Update Notification for Root users?

I can't seem to find which program to freeze in Titanium Backup. Any ideas out there?
Have any 10e root users accepted the update? Do you lose root even with Voodoo Keeper?
Thanks!
You can try freezing 'lgfotapermission' app using Titanium Back up. It's just my guess. No guarantees. YMMV.

Ok - thanks. Can you always unfreeze applications without any harm? Not to nag, but curious how you decided on that file? Google search on that name, turns up nothing.

Actually looking thru the backup/restore column in titanium backup I don't see that app anywhere. Only LG prefixed app's I see are as follows:
LG Keyboard...
LG MLT 2.3.8
LGinstallservice 1.3.11 (Perhaps this could be it??)
LGSetupWizard 4.3.013
LGSystemServer 1.0

Thanks - I found it, and froze it, however I'm still getting the notification. Even after reset. Odd.
I believe the update check code is embedded into the settings apk. It will need to be re-compiled to prevent this.
If we knew what URL the device is getting its updates from we can block it with a hosts entry.
I found some info here on disabling the update notification for anyone who is still interested.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006946
It looks like you need to freeze these two apps in Titanium Backup:
com.lge.lgfota.permission
com.lge.omadmclient
V10C P765 Rooted
I simply unchecked following option and I think it stops future OTA Notification.
Settings >>> About Phone >>> Software Update >>> Check Automatically (Uncheck this)
May be I am wrong, may be you pals are talking something else..

Doesn't seem to work as update notification is still popping up on my P769.
This is how I stoped my phone from updateing and nagging. ( Must be rooted )
1. Download and install ( system tuner apk from playstore )
2. Launch system tuner and choose ( system with the red icon )
3. Choose (Google services framework ) and hit (details)
4. Scroll down to services and uncheck ( update.systemUpdateService
Thats all.
Hit thanks if it helped.

While I can't vouch for anything else besides the P675 10e Tmobile version, the following method will stop the update prompts. It *should* work on all ICS and JB devices, including Nexus.
0. Root, if you haven't already.
1. Download AutoRun Manager
2. In ARM, choose "Advanced"
3. Touch the wrench icon, and check
- Show System Entries
- Enable System Application Disable
4. Back on the application list, tap the refresh (circle arrow) icon if you don't see system apps. They should have a red background.
5. Find the app Google System Framework (aka: GSF) and tap it.
6. Uncheck the "com.google.<something>.gsf.update.SystemUpdate" receivers. I can't read my own handwriting at the moment, but they both end in SystemUpdate.
Am I the only one who definitely DONOT hit thanks when I see this line "Hit thanks if it helped"?
Thread cleaned. I don't see the reason of this whole argue you had. If someone wants to post hit thanks, let it be. It's definitely not worthy to be discussed. Now you should both excuse each other for jumping the guns for nothing.
I really hope you will.

This caused a permanent wakelock on SystemUpdateService on my LG Optimus P769, so my phone never went to sleep mode. I even rebooted several times, and checked over several days. As soon as I re-enabled update.systemUpdateService, the phone was able to sleep again. It did seem to prevent the OTA popup from re-appearing, but at a cost of battery life.

Well I used Titanium backup to freeze com.lge.lgfota.permission and I used root explorer to change the lgfota.apk in \system\app folder to lgfota.bak and reboot.

Nasty trojan on Android phone

I have a cell phone - Onix, Android version 5.0, model number AAP453G-1015
It has a very nasty trojan on it, which I can't get rid of with anything, including Malwarebytes, and various 'stubborn trojan remover apps' downloaded from Google Play Store.
Nothing works.
A Malwarebytes scan says 'your device has issues', then when I select 'fix now' it shows the problem, being ..
Android/Trojan.Spy.Agent.el
/system/app/OP_GoogleSearch/OP_GoogleSearch.apk
Then when I confirm I want to delete the item, the only thing that comes up is
'do you want to uninstall this app?'
Selecting yes results in 'Uninstall 'Unsuccessful'
I have done a factory re-set three times, and every time, it is still there. I have removed the SD card, changed sim card .. all to no avail.
I have been around various forums and they directed me here. Hope I'm in the right place / thread.
Thank you for any assistance.
Are you rooted? You can only remove that app if you have root.
