there isnt an official vibrant 2.3 realease
you can get 2.3 custom roms taken from i9000 in the dev section, read the ops properly so you dont break your phone

You can try Asgard 3.1 it is excellent, you will need to load the gingerbread bootloader 1st, then the Gingerbread rom. There is no official release as of today....... but Most of the 2.3.4 JVP roms are all awesome
Thanks man ur a life saver....i'll try out that rom thanks
sent from vibrant running trigger 3.2 and SuperDragonModz

sooooo
since we have had root for weeks now... and theres custom roms starting there way onto the eris..
has anyone... or can someone put together a 2.0.1 or a 2.1 vanilla rom?.
...
I have already asked this question... No one has ported 2.0.1 to the Eris and There is really no point in doing so. There is only Cupcake[1.5] and Ecliar[2.1] available to the Eris as of now.

We can't really do it until we have the 2.1 kernel source code or we successfully fix everything we have on the older kernel used for eris's 1.5
As far as a theme, its a work in progress. Mostly because, i'm working on it. I"ll post it if I get anything done.
This is as close as we have so far, thanks to GrdLock:

as i browsed it sir..
it is for xxkc1..is it same with dxkc1?
i thought not..
it may brick my phone i think..
heres my ace
baseband
s5830dxkc1
2.2.1
buildnumber
froyo.dxkc1..
dont think it will work on me..
thanks anyway..
hope someone knew how to make a theme for my ace..
i think someone or many who afraid to upgrade firm via odin will loved this..thanks..
It will not work then, I thought you had a typo. If you want themes you may have to start messing around with your firmware then.. almost nobody uses 2.2 for ace in xda here I presume.
XDA ♥
I think it might, because when i had just got my ace back after i bricked it, it was on Froyo (DDKC1) and i Deodexed it and then was successfully able to apply it to my phone, but that may also be because the indian firmware is pretty much totally identical to the european one, except with some languages less
So..ur saying it work on my ace?
If i had deodex my fone?
Hmm..
What if i got mess with it..what shoukd i do?
Thanks..
huhuhu..
i think no one got this here..
sad =(

Hi - if you have not found it by now there is a great thread about this here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19356442#post19356442
wildstang83 - packaged up the OTA and made a flashable ROM that works perfectly. I had rooted with Unrevoked just to freeze some bloat and for the fun of it but had never done a ROM before this so I was definitely apprehensive but with a little help from Titanium Backup I'm purrring along with Gingerbread now.
Although I thanked him in person with a PM I would like to let anyone know who reads this he knows what he is doing and on top of that seems like a really good dude. So go for it and thanks again wildstang83!
high community i have been trying to change the ugly vibrant boot splash but i cant seem to find a way .i almost did but the package was removed due to some one complaining about the dev. i know it can be done because im running the gingerbread boot loaders for the vibrant but i wanted to change the image to the google image like in the nexus any ideas?
If you're already on the gb bootloaders you can use this guide. It's in the Captivate forums, but also works on the Vibrant. Worked perfectly for me.

These will not be compatible with CM7 (due to the proprietary fs used on param.lfs)...
straight from that op, if i need to explain why that doesnt work with ICS then you shouldnt be trying to do this in the first place

No explanation needed I know this but I'd figure I give it a go anyways however I'm actually working on a rom that is free from Google in every way . There are some very disturbing things about how Google collects and saves info on us all .if I'm unsuccessful then I'll get a blackberry or just a no frills phone .thanks
Hi guys,
Recently I've received an 'old' HTC Hero. This is my first smartphone and I'm looking to upgrade to 2.2.
I've never done this before but I'm interested because at least 2.2 is needed for certain apps I'm interested in. I was wondering if you guys can give me some pointers on how to do this.
I looked at this post on the forum, 2.2.1 Froyo.
So I should make a backup and then just do it? Is there any danger involved or can I always go back to the 2.1?
Thanks for your help!
You should probably go with Elelinux 2.2 or 2.3.7 if you want it to lock vanilla, if you want ICS look go with shpongle...
