You can, provided there phone has the software to run it. It's nothing more than a MPO file, a straight take from Nero's 3D format. You can also open the file on a non-3D computer using Nero's software and see it. Note, it WILL look funky, but it does display. I sent a 3D picture to my EVO 4G, it just shows up as a file, nothing more. So if there's an app on the market that support MPO, yes you can.
while viewing the picture in gallery, click on the screen. an icon with a circle and two diverging arrows will show up in the bottom bar. Click on that and scroll down to "mail". It will ask if you want to share it as 3D or 2D. The rest is straight forward.
Try an app called Hoccer, its the most convenient and cool way to transfer files between two phones next to each other. Or Dropbox if its long distance
JPS is classed as the "industry standard" 3D format (by HTC themselves) which is basically a renamed jpg file.
Other 3D phones at the moment are just Optimus 3D and the Sharp one, both of which support the viewing of MPO and JPS files
Also, to view on a PC, just use the freeware "StereoPhoto Maker", you can view any type of 3D file as save out as a different one (e.g. open MPO and save as JPS and vice versa)
Nothing is easy. I figured you could just send the pic to another Evo 3d with no problem. You figured Sprint and HTC would have recoded picturemail to do this. Guess not.

When I send a photo with Handcent to someone, it prompts me for 3D or 2D and warns a compatible display is needed for 3D. Pretty simple ;o)

I complained to HTC about this and the tech said its an mms limitation or some crap like that
Dear Sean R***,
I understand that when you try to share a 3D picture via email or MMS the result is a 2D image. For the text message sharing the image has to meet the requirements of the MMS server, so the phone will downsample the image.
When you email yourself a picture and receive it in the mail program if you can preview it, the image is already fully downloaded and in the download folder on the device. In the GMail program it should give you a separate option to download vs preview. When you open the Gallery and then the All Downloads album are you able to view the content you have emailed in 3D?
Please advise what you see with this specific test. Let me know if you are using the GMail or Mail application when you get the 2d results and I can always run a test on one of our devices for you.

shouldnt have to get a third party app to do this... it's not like 3D is something we, the consumer, added to the phone

Well, I tried to post this in the themes and apps section, but for some reason, it says that I can't get to that forum - access is denied.
Anyway - from #teamwin, I'm here to announce Twin Pic!
Ever been frustrated about not being able to share your 3D pics with your friends? Well, look no farther! Twin Pic does just that . It is essentially MMS picturemail without using MMS at all!
This uses google's push notification API (just like Gmail uses), so it doesn't use battery.
You can send any picture format (3d pics included!), and the app is free! The receiving friend will get a push notification when they have received a pic, and clicking the notification will display the image using HTC's 3d-capable gallery.
To send a TwinPic to someone, just use the "Share" menu on a picture, and it will prompt you for a contact. Select the contact that you want to send it to (note that both people must have TwinPic installed in order to share), and poof, it's that easy!
If you want to reply or forward a TwinPic from the history menu, long press an item in the history list and select one of the choices .
This is the beta version, so if you have any crashes, suggestions, etc, please post them here and we will gladly look into it .
DOWNLOAD --> http://tinyw.in/1z4
Also! To facilitate 3D picture sharing, I'll keep a list of email addresses that people are willing to share so they can test sending/receiving 3d pics. I'll start:
EDIT: I moved the public list here.
Very cool aspect bro.......gonna give it go now

Wow, amazing. I can't believe HTC didn't have anything like this ready for the 3D revolution lol. Great work!

Great job!!! Thanks much
Thanks Shinzul & TeamWin for this sweet little app. I had some chick offering to send me a 3D pic of her for a Google+ invite and it was devastating to find out that they couldn't be sent between phones. Anyway, maybe now I'll get my 3D pic of her!
sick!
sent from a soon to be MIKOPTED EVO 3D
Awesome! Now I just wish I could test it.
Now I just need to figure out out how to use it.

Force close
Just a little bug
Get force close upon clicking "previous page"
Also no history is shown after sending a picture, (is it only for receiving?)
Thanks once again for a great app!

Yeah the history is for when you receive pics... when you send them, you already have the pic you sent, so I didn't think to add a "sent to" history item. Although I suppose I could do that.
Also I am starting a list of email addresses for people who want to share pics. Figured we might as well keep a list in case you don't know anyone else with an evo 3D... DO keep in mind though, that this works on any android phone, and with any image format, not just 3D...
I get FC's when you open up the app, and say, it opens up on page 1. If you hit "previous" page, it will goto page 0, if you select "previous" page again, the app will FC.
Edit: nvm, I see you already know. Excellent work #TeamWin!

Nice -- Glad to see bug reports already flowing in with so many folks on board already.
Is there an image viewer app other than the stock Gallery that can utilize the hardware to view 3D images? I have used QuickPic since I moved over to CM on my OG EVO but that doesn't recognize any 3D content. Maybe TeamWin could come up with something? Maybe make TwinPic a full fledged viewer? I'm not a huge fan of HTC's Gallery and we are going to need something once we are able to get AOSP on this thing...
sounds good, haven't tested yet but did notice when im at the "main screen" i guess. It says "1 of 0" and "2 of 0" for pages and when I cycle to previous page when at page "0 of 0" I get a FC. I know its beta. But just helping ya about by reporting the bugs as requested in OP.

Thanks for providing an application that HTC should have installed out the box! I can't wait to see what TW and the other devs can do when HTC opens their dev support!
nice!! teamwin at it again
I know with music you can look at the mp3 file with a program to see exactly when it was created and also check to see if the they changed m3u data. Is there something out there for pictures?
Basically someone sent me a picture, but right now I'm questioning if they actually took just then of the object, or was there a time lapse and they're claiming it as recent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Never mind. Google is my friend. This can be closed. I don't know if I can do it myself with this app. I don't see the option.
An exif viewer would probably be your best bet for an app.

Sounds like it may be a fat chick. She's sending you a pic when she was skinny.
No. I ask your mom to stop sending me pics a long time ago. But do send her my regards when you see her.
Exif app seems to work from the market. I was able to confirm that indeed the capture did take place during the event. The only problem is the program on the market is a little crued. Best option I've found thus far is to just use the program on windows. It's time consuming, but works.
Ok, found two apps that will show the exif details on your image. Both work great, but one is more vibrant with their color scheme.

For some reason I remember seeing a feature where you could be with a group of friends and all taking pictures and they all shared to the each others gallery. I don't think it was s beam it was something where they were basically in a shared gallery. Can anyone help??
Open the camera and change shooting mode to 'Share Shot'. You need all your friends to have SGS3s for this to work.

Hopefully one of the devs can get photo share working on the s2. It's a great feature to just be locked to only the s3.

So I read somewhere in the evo 3d threads that someone came up with a script that can be added to the phone that prevents the phone from compressing the caller I'd photos from looking all crappy. Anyone heard of something like that for the rezound? If I change the pics for the contact they look great until I flash a new rom.

I don't know about a script, but I use HD caller ID from the the play store, gives me a full screen HD caller ID picture
I've had the OG evo, 3d and now lte.
How do I send videos through text messages? It's a short video, under 20 seconds. I trimmed it to be short(video of my 3 month old laughing). I watch my father in-law with his iPhone, take a video and then text it. Just like our phone can compresses pictures, the iPhone compresses his videos.
My video is 9mb now, if can compress and send via sms.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

New to the EVO LTE
I hate to dig up and old post, but people were less than friendly in the E4GT forum at times and I wanted to provide people with the idea that I do research a little before I post:
I need to get videos from a friend who has the same device as me, EVO LTE no rooted, from phone to phone. We only see each other during Jiu Jitsu and these are videos of my last tournament so I would like to have them.
We have tried:
Bluetooth (My device wasn't found, I have been on MeanROM he is stock)
Email (Videos are too big)
MMS (same issue as email)
Facebook (he could post them to his wall, but then I would have to get them off of there)
NFC (I am no dummy, but I couldn't figure out how to work it, plus the file is most likely too large)
Any help would be appreciated or other troubleshooting would help also. I am really just looking to brainstorm if there is no direct answer.
Maybe upload to Dropbox, SkyDrive, SugarSync or some other type of cloud type service or maybe one of the free web based servers like Mediafire, Hotfile, Rapidshare, etc... Just a matter of how large the files are.

Yea that was my last option, he is so unsavy technically. But I have an account I thought if I just logged in from his phone then upload the particular videos, I was just concerned about auto-loading some of his other files.

The sms/mms app compresses automatically. When i send something too large i get the animated circle and a message that says compressing.

Only short videos that are taken from the MMS setting will send either way, so pretty much these listed above are the only options....
