No phone after downgrade - Optimus One, P500, V General

I just down-grade to 2.2, with Rommanager, to what i have saved before upgrading to 2.3.3, official.
My 2.2 is also official, just rooted.
But now it did not find a phone network, no service availabile.
I tried again to restore (manage and restare).
I checked with another sim, the same.
My sim on other phone was ok.
After hard reset i got a message:
com.android.settings has stopped unexpectedly.

Did you downgrade with KDZ?

He just said he downgraded via ROM Manager. PEBKAC.
@OP: You will have no GSM until you downgrade the baseband. Kindly check my v20g thread!

Follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875881this thread and make sure while you are updating your ROM, Rom should be for your country specified. Without this GSM will not work.

thanks in advance, i will.

I tried with the zip for phone, does not work.
So i have to come back to 2.3.3. Now i have phone.
I wanted to down grade because Maps are running every time i turn on gps, and igo is not working corectly ( the voice has interrupts).
Now i'm sticked to 2.3.3.
Thanks for your help and answers.

Dunno what you tried really. You are supposed to reflash the baseband from 2.2.x.

I flashed the baseband, but doesn't worked.
I used kdz to downgrade from 2.3 to 2.2 (v10b_00.kdz), and it is everythin ok, inclusive phone.

Strange... If you really think it's not working, you could reflash the radio via ODIN, by taring the MODEM image, and flashing it in a tar as MODEM.
But I doubt you need to. You tried the SIM in another phone, in case there's network downtime?
SIM is working, tested.
made now a factory reset, now bootloop
may an idea where to get an radio to flash via odin ? im on villain 1.1 btw
or is the radio included in your ROM ?

[Q] Wierd problem with openOptimus build 2.202.1

I'm sorry for being a noob, but i tried searching for anything similar and i couldn't find it. I have the weirdest problem, i flashed openOptimus today and it booted up just fine (i did the official gingerbread update so i was on new baseband). I checked the software version, it was v20 after the flash. After a few reboots settings.apk crashed on boot, and the software version was back to v10c-OCT-12-2010. I tried re-flashing after wiping absolutely everything, 2 times, same thing. I tried ciaox's guide for updating baseband with LGMDP tool as posted on his thread, did not update the baseband (even tho the process was finished successfully). If anyone had or has a similar problem, please enlighten me with a solution, if not any suggestion is welcome, thanks
1. rom downgrading by itself? r u insane? lolz
2. Read dr. notor's thread from start to beggining here. check which baseband version u're on using lg hidden menu cuz i'm almost sure u're using a baseband that's incompatible with your current rom.
3. do u have gsm signal?
edit: it's most definitely not open optimus' fault cuz i've used that rom w/o any problems, u proly screwed something up during the upgrade/flash process. but have no fear, with some patience and forum digging u can fix it hehe

Yes i am aware that its not openOptimus's fault, and that i probably messed up somewhere along the line. I read dr. notor's thread from start to begining, its the same process from ciaox's openOptimus thread, with screenshots added. As i said, after a few reboots settings.apk crashed and when i checked settings>about phone, in the Software Version field it said 10c, as opposed to the 20c it said prior to the reboot, i am not sure how or why this happened, but i am wiping everything, reflashing the rom, and reflashing the baseband now to see what happens. Also, i did have a gsm signal. Thank you for the reply
Ok, then u prolly should pay attention to this part where he says
Q: How do I know it worked?
A: If everything worked, you will have a working GSM (calls, 2G/3G data) with the proper ROM installed.. On stock ROMs, you can check the baseband version via hidden LG menu. It will show AMSS6150 if you flashed v20G baseband. If you see AMSS6038, then you have a baseband from v20[ABCD...] versions. If you see anything else, you have a baseband from v10? ROM. LGMDP utility also shows which ROM version does the baseband come from (see screenshot attached). Note (CM7 users): V07u-000-000-MAR-23-2009 is NOT your baseband version but some irrelevant CM7 crap.

Like I said, check your baseband version using LG Hidden Menu (dial 3845#*500#).
Hey, its strange it seems to be just a bug, it happened again after i changed the settings icon and rebooted, but lg hidden menu reported baseband as AMSS6038, while settings > about phone said 10c, after a reboot it was v20 again. Im stumped, its fine now tho, thanks

GPS rom problem, need a bit of help!

I purchased my phone from a Virgin Mobile booth and went home and rooted and unlocked it right away so I could use it for Telus. The phone uses the KG2 rom, and it is currently on 2.3.3.
A few months ago the GPS stopped locking onto satellites. The longest I have had it lock on was 5 minutes and I have tried many times in various cities. I have tried putting into airplane mode then back and restarting my phone but this does not fix anything.
My plan was to somehow update the phone to 2.3.4 or some newer version which could fix this, but I cannot figure out how to upgrade it. I heard there is even a 2.3.6 out, yet there is no way that I know to update the phone. Also, since I am currently using KG2, does this mean that I can only update to KG2 versions or can I change them? When I change roms does it mean I have to start from scratch with my current data and contacts?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a full system-image-back up.
Software like Clock Work Mode Recovery can do this back up and can restore anytime you like.
Also sync your contacts with your Google account so that you can backup and restore from the cloud.
How to Back up your Android - contacts, system image...
I just finished changing to a different ROM and the GPS still is unable to lock onto anything. I believe my warranty is up already or soon. Is there a way to find out why the GPS is not working?
Have a look at this thread. Don't ask me the how/why of it (never tried it myself, just know about the thread/other people have successfully used the patch), read the thread & you'll know how to apply the patch/if it might work for you.
Thanks a lot for your help! This information has helped me finally lock a location for the first time in months.

Xperia X10 Newb

I recently picked up an Xperia X10 to use with my straight talk service. I rooted and unlocked the bootloader just fine using flashtool; edited the APN settings and have a functional phone. But, whenever I try flashing a new ROM, I get into some trouble. First, my wifi never works. I read that's a common thing and tried flashing the zip to fix it; no go. Secondly, I lose service with the new ROM; again, common thing, and I've found fixes. I'd try the kill services command through terminal emulator, but that brings me to my third issue. I lose access to my SD Card; it won't mount it at all with the new ROM, except for when I'm in xRecovery. I have an Xperia X10a from AT&T, running official Android 2.1. Firmware is 2.1.A.0.492 and baseband 2.1.65. I've tried various ROMs that are compatible with this baseband, including FreeXperia from Achotjan; all with the same results. Is it necessary to flash your baseband even if the ROM is verified for your current baseband? Am I missing some critical step here? Sorry if this is in the FAQs somewhere; I've read the stickies in here and the development section 3 or 4 times each (I get bored at work ), and didn't see it anywhere. TIA

I would suggest you upgrading 2.3.3.
You can find ftf files for 2.3.3 in my signature. unzip the files to get ftf.
You can flash american generic or global generic version. All will work for you.
flash the ftf using flashtool.
Here's a guide to use flashtool : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343

Download SEUS and upgrade your phone to stock gingerbread2.3.. it has the baseband required... then use flashtool to root and unlock....
Remember every custom ROM has different kernel... for example FDP ROMs run on FDP kernel.. x10s runs on doomlords modified kernel... feralab kernel is for feralab ROMs.. so you need to be careful.. good luck...

OK, I flashed the American gingerbread ftf. Everything appears to work except my SD card. I tried mounting through terminal, tries formatting from both the phone (xRecovery) and computer (USB adapter) and nothing. Suggestions?

Don't have another SD card, but it did this before. Once I restore to 2.1 it works fine. It does USB mode through xRecovery, haven't tried while Android is running.

Softbricked phone, no IMEI, no backup, no NVRAM folder.

A "script kiddie" here, tried to customize my phone for the first time, accidentally installed a wrong version ROM, the phone went into a bootloop and so i decided to completely wipe the internal storage (that was so very dumb...)
Now after a day of struggle i managed to install everything i wanted - TWRP and a custom MIUI, but ever since that memory wipe i lost my signal. After searching around some, it seems that my IMEIs got lost (disconnected, corrupted, i dont know how to call it) and the phone can not detect either of my SIM cards. WiFi works fine. I do not have "nvram" folder or file anywhere on my phone.

At the end of that tutorial look for a small word tutorial zipped. Read that one first.
Turns out all i had to do was mess around with firmware re-flashing until i got a working baseband and then use Chamelephon to set up IMEIs.
Everything was that easy.

Try this: reset the phone to factory defaults. Then try to see if IMEI'S are still there.
Tell me what firmware worked. It is a valuable information for others.
Thanks.

I wiped all the factory settings and the ROMs i used to mess around were: P780_S124_ROW_140403, flashed through flashtool, supposed to be the "official" ROM (the one i got the stable baseband from) and MIUISU_4.4.2v_P780_7.2.24_ROW (the one im using currently). All the IMEIs got restored through Chamalephon as soon as i got a working baseband and i can send/accept calls and SMS with no problem. However there is a bug with constantly changing MAC now.

Hi. Did you installed MIUISU over s124 ?
If you did, you must update to s228 Kitkat.
S124 is jellybean. You will get errors, if you install kitkat over jellybean.

No, i installed s124 backed up the baseband and nvram files through MTK. Then i flashed the system, installed MIUI and recovered my baseband. The unstable MAC error started in s124 already.
