Currently... no.

I've tried the RUU and a PG38IMG.zip, and neither worked. So, not likely, at the moment.

Upgrading to ICS

Hi,
I have a HTC EVO3D running android 2.3.4 and unlocked by htcdev method (s-off). I've installed super user, but not changed the ROM.
Here is my question: Do i need to relock the boot loader to perform the upgrading to ICS (through phone software upgrade) ?
After upgrading, can i use that htcdev method again to unlock and root? I dont need to change the ROM, I just want to have super user!
Is there any way to downgrade to 2.3.4 after that?
Software number: 1.24.415.6

If you want to take the stock update, then yes, you will have to relock the bootloader. The easier way would be to wait (not very long) and someone on here will put out a stock rooted rom of the update, you can just flash that like any other rom.

Wow. Shaking my head in disbelief. Are you serious or are just trying to get a reaction from folks?
You are unlocked with s-off running GB. you want relock and upgrade to ICS and then unlock again to go back to GB right?
Just so you can have superuser installed on your phone?
I'm speechless.

No. Roms don't include radios or any other firmware. You'd have to relock and RUU to get the radios. And if you want the 3.16 radio you'd have to take the OTA.

Since you relocked, I'm assuming you know how to use fastboot. Go to here and download the RUU 3.15.651.16 - HBOOT 2.09 from the right. This will give you an RUU.zip. Throw that in your fastboot folder on the pc and follow step 8 and 9. This will run the RUU and put you in 3.15 Stock.

You're right, download either of the other two. 1.22 or 2.13.

As long as you don't install a custom recovery or anything you should be able to accept the ota.

If you take the 3.16 OTA, only the newest version of TWRP (2.4.1.0) will work. And the only roms you'll be able to use are those that use 3.16 as a base. Any other base and the touchscreen might not work.

That's the radio for 3.16. It's the latest.
I am have to laugh at the original poster now. I don't want to go through the hassle of getting s-off! But now look at all the hassles you have. S-off is an easier and less hassle procedure!

[Q] Stock OTA Update 4.2.2 - How do I downgrade to 4.1.1 with Sense 4 +?

Stock OTA Update 4.2.2 - How do I downgrade to 4.1.1 with Sense 4 +?
Hello,
Can I make do downgrade to firmware 4.1.1 using RUU file from the official HTC firmware (1.15.605.4 RUU_DLX_WL_JB_45_VERIZON_WWE Radio_1.00.00.1023_3_NV_VZW_1.98_002_release_290923_signed.exe)?
Phone was not unblocking or rotated. This is after the update OTA. Where can I download the RUU and that I can easily use it to make a downgrade?
If such a downgrade would be possible if I could then possibly unlock (bootloader) phone and do S-OFF by Moonshine s-off and install costum roms, etc. .. ?

If you are trying to S_OFF your device, and you're on the latest firmware 3.06, then Rumrunner will get you where you want to be :good:

Thanks for the quick reply
For now I would only do the downgrade and be on the stock ROM.
But if later I could do S-OFF, etc. ..? However, if you would like to have a costum ROM maybe in the future.
My question is still as before can I downgrade the RUU?

AFAIK firmware is upgrade only. You can not downgrade firmware
Ok. So I have to do. Unlock the bootloader and do S-OFF as you write and use Costum ROMS.
I understand that it is no longer possible to definitively restore stock 4.1.1?
A stock 4.2.2 you will be able to come back as? In the event of warranty. Well I think?
Thank you for your advice ..

Once you are unlocked you certainly can flash older version roms.
Yes you can always return to stock, for the most part, for warranty purposes.

Should be possible now, although never tried (and also will not try). Also, I don' know if radio and hboot are on the same partition for our device. If not, you maybe will need to downgrade radio as well.

update ruu again

hi, is it safe update ruu again, my firmware and recovery is already update from captain thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2639180 and i want update again to the official RUU exe. thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2653730&page=9 is it safe? or is there another way?
Thanx
Yes, you can run the ruu as many times as you want. The ruu is 1 step up from a factory reset, it pushes everything to the phone making sure it is like it should be from factory. It doesn't really care what version is on your phone.
I was on the pre release firmware from captain, then ran the ruu with no issues.
