Trying to download the Amazon App Store but the d/l keeps timing out. Anyone have any success in installing this?
I had the same problem. I was thinking of just sideloading the app and seeing if that works.
Edit: I just downloaded on my desktop, sent to my gmail and it installed fine. Not sure what the problem was. Now it works though.
I was able to download and install without any problems, but this was 1-2 weeks ago
If anybody else was wondering what happens to your apps if you have more than one device.... Any app you ever downloaded (even free app of the day) shows up as available for you to download. Nice! I was not liking the stupid ad during Angry Birds!
I installed this Monday with no problem. It is great to have all your apps.

I had the same problem on Monday. I downloaded the app to my desktop, moved it over to DropBox and then installed on the tablet via Dropbox. I still have the .apk file if anyone needs it.

is this better than google's own market place? what are the advantages? are tablet optimized apps easier to find?
Well for one thing they offer one paid app for free every day. Also, they've been known to run "specials". The biggest problem I've had with them is that you need to check 2 locations for app updates. I've been on the Amazon App Store since the day it opened.

PSX was first to go (most likely due to the Xperia Play), then all of yongzh's emulators were removed. Luckily they were uploaded to SlideMe for free for a while, so go grab them there. Here's the link to all of yongzh's emulators.

Ibhocky19 i restored my apps from my titanium back up file using astro file manager by looking throw the back up for the apps that you want.they will state that they are zip files.just tap on the zip file and extract to the directory, once it is extracted you can then install it.
Hey, I have been with XDA for a few months and I have never encountered this before.
I was on this page HD Netflix App and i click one of the links to go download an app but it says i do not have permission. I have made at least 60 posts so its not like I am new.
Anyone have any idea why I can not access that page?
I really want that app lol

That is really strange... I'm getting the same error and I didn't like five days ago. If you need the APK I have it but I don't know if there is a newer version for it.
I tried to check for it too just now.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I got android market to work on my nook tablet. Don't know if anyone else was able to yet. I pulled market apk off of droid charge and pushed it to nook, installed and it let me enter user info. I will post screen shot in a minute.

Upon attempting to download anything from market app forces closes, will not open again.

I tried to download NoLED for example and it forced closed. Is anyone else having this issue?
mine just closes when it asks me to add an account. I wonder if its because ive tried to install the market previosly....

I spoke too soon, it launches but force closes.
It is now force closing on me, on the plus side if I access android market from computer it now lists Nook Tablet as one of my devices.
I got it to run once, then it force closed when i tried to download something. Now it force closes on Start.
It also crashes for me when I try to install or update an app. I wonder if this has to do with the same storage issue Amazon Market had before I installed an SD card. Before installing an SD card, Amazon Market refused to install anything. It appears that Android Market might prefer to crash.

Looks like it quits on start because its still trying to download what ever app you last selected.
Does android generate an error report when apps force close? If so perhaos we could pull that and alter android market apk to work around issue. Just a thought.

I pushed an app to nook via android matket website, after a few minutes NT attempted to install. It is still sitting here attempting to start download.

I'm uploading you my /system/app, just nick the files that you need, install a market 3.3.11 APK, with the libs & other stuff from a gapps-mdpi (froyo build) (CyanogenMod site) and it should work

I pulled charges framework apk and tried again, same result. I can post if you want.
I tried to install facebook for android on my rooted NT today but received an error message saying that it is not compatible with this device. Is there a work around?
I used share my applications app on my phone., made a back up to my sd, uploaded to dropbox. Then I opened up dropbox on my nook downloaded the app and installed.
Im using an app called facebook 2.0
I actually like it better than the official app

Is there another way? I do not have an android phone...just this nook tablet...
Search the web for the most recent apk (I'm pretty sure it's linked on this site in the must-have apps thread) and side-load install it.
yeah i was wrong, the 1.5.4 version (found in the essential apps post) works just fine.

"Facebook 2.0" has been pulled from markets, since it uses the FB name but isn't the official FB app. Google to find.

Not sure about the Amazon app but for Flipboard you can search for the apk and side load or get it from someone else's phone because it's not optimized for tablets yet

I downloaded Flipboard else where on the internet. But you can also try to download it from the play store on other devices that support it. Then use file explorer or some other app go under the phone memory, find this file ->/data/app. It will show you the apk files that you have downloaded on your phone from the play store. Now you can easily copy the apks you want to the sd card and send it over to the TP. (send directly with bluetooth is the easiest way).
