Came from a tmobile vibrant, and really miss flashing atm. Anyone else feeling the same void?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I don't miss the flashing so much, because I still have 3 other rooted phones and 2 rooted Nook colors in my house......but I do miss my CM7, Theme Chooser Themes, custom boot animations, and obviously all of my apps requiring root access.

All I want to do is modify the framework to give me the percent battery and also change the notifications. Can I use the framework on the stock Rom to change that since I'm rooted or do I have to have a different Rom that's modified?

Try the question and answer section please!
Yes you can, just do a backup before you attempt the changes and backup the original Framework-res.apk somewhere.
By back up some may wanna say nandroid or nand but we are NOT running Amon Ra anymore so lets drop the Nand..... Its kind of a slap in the face to the folks at Clockwork. And who let us root???????
THANKS CWM TEAM!
Sorry normally would have put it in there but figured it would be better in the development forum...mods feel free to move since it would be better in there

I honestly think a sticky at the top of each forum for questions would make things easier for everyone to find and help the lazy. But the one in the development section was closed and they refereed everyone to Q and A. I wasnt trying to be rude. And I dont mind helping, its just hard to find apps and themes amongst all the questions.
Ya I usually don't post easy questions like this but I tried to find somewhere that talked about the stock Rom and framework but didn't find much. Love the Rom since it was the same Rom I used on my G2 but it was Evils custom rom. Hard to go back to stock when your used to modifying your own images lol

I hear that, its no fun if its not custom.
Did you see my thread on changing the android on the usb connect screen? Its also done through the framework. I would post link but I'm mobile. :/

Nope haven't looked into it right now, since I just switched from the G2 I was going to read up on everything before but it seems like most of the G2 stuff is almost the same as the myTouch 4G so I'll be able to just go to town lol. If I do anything new I'll definitely add it to the pot once I get something good

You can't actually change the notifications pane with that, but there are notification icons and the percentage battery changes there. I just use the silver circle one and left the rest stock, nice b&w feel to it.
More complex changes require a deodexed ROM like IG, CM6/7, eViL's MIUI, etc.
Is there a stock rom that's been deodexed? That's all I'm looking for right now but I'm not finding anything

Im told that Iced Glacier is pretty much a faster version of the stock rom. (I havent tried it myself)
However if you are just trying to change the Icons in the status bar you dont need to be deodexed to use the mods in the link previously mentioned. Im running stock rom with one of those mods myself currently
Ya I was able to change the notification icons, signal, battery...only thing I couldn't do without having FC issues was change the battery into a percent. Even with those mods on the link I was getting FC issues
Im running simply honey 3.9 and i have gb bootloaders installed. Whenever im in recovery or first booting up my phone it gives me blurry lines, when i was on trigger the blurry lines went away with the bali kernel, the capped version(it gave me lines and blurry screens when i was in recovery or booted up). The only way for it to go away is if i lock and unlock my phone, i attached images.
Have you dropped your phone or anything like that?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
No i haven't dropped it, i recently had a warranty exchange and they sent me another one, the build date on this vibrant is 6.11. I've only had a few days, my old vibrant never did that. It doesn't happen on factory kernels, only on uncapped kernels. I want to completely fix it because its really annoying and i can't complain to tmobile cause this problem never happens on stock roms
have you tried reflasing and see if it happens with another gb rom
Yes i flashed it about 3 times, i think its kernel related. It never happened with my old vibrant
wat about other gb roms?
Don't all gingerbread roms use the bullet kernel? i don't wanna switch roms just fix this blurry screen issue, blue is my favorite color and the theme on this rom is very sick
Then download cm7 and use the theme changer! its very cool and very easy to use. Just download a theme from market or get one off xda then go to theme chooser on cm7 select ur theme and reboot , its that easy and there plenty of blue themes. My fav blue cm7 theme is blue steele. Theres over 50 themes to choose from too

this is actually my friends account, he never uses it so he just handed it to me. He came up with the name after the Toyota Supra lol
I don't know about you guys, but when I rotate my phone, I like to see it smoothly rotate on screen to the horizontal or back to verticle view.
Does anyone know of a flashable .zip that would do this for me?
Thanks!

Actually its funny you should mention this. Ya see I came from a Droid X running rooted Gingerbread and the 2.3.3 update finally gave us a rotation animation. It wasn't a Blur thing, it wasn't a ROM thing. It was just Gingerbread. It would do it on virtually all screens. Homescreens, browser, images in the gallery, fullscreen games. It didn't matter what it was, they all did this cool rotation animation. Now on the Thunderbolt running Gingerbread, I am saddened to see no such animation and thats with me being on a custom ROM as well, where eye candy features like this usually are abundant.
Can anyone chime in on this as I too would like to know how to get the animation back. Thanks
I second this motion.
Bumping for great justice.
By the way I looked into it and it seems this is a Honeycomb thing, not Gingerbread. At least not for stock. So it's gonna take some framework modifications to port it in.

That's really funny I saw my friends dx2 rotate like that and wanted it. So I made this topic

Sounds awesome, would love to have this in the ROMs.
Or any insight as to how I could get this animation? Maybe finding the files in the system?
I want this! The atrix gingerbread has it also

Bumping this because I would be willing to donate to whoever can make this happen.
Gingeritis browser settings has/had this option and I must say, it was very eye catching. Although it is/was only for the browser. (Don't know if it's still there in the newer versions, haven't used the rom in a while.)
I wonder if its just somewhere in the Motorola BLUR frameworks and can be pulled out and ported to AOSP/Sense?
It would be just as great a framework mod as the CRT animation.
I like the theme of the Aura very much, but I like the features of the DarkSide.
Does anysome can take the theme from Aura ROM, and flash it on DarkSide ROM???
Aura and darkside are pretty much identical ROMs with exception of darkside getting an update recently.
Just use aura in that case.

As long as there isn't anything specific in either ox the Rims depending on the following files, just use adb to backup the originals and put the m in the proper place.
LatinIME.api
SystemUI.api
framework-res.api
blur-res.api
moto-res.apk
And any other system apps that were themed
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
they are both identical, DarkSide uses Auras ROM but highly customized.
Actually guys, the Darkside ROM has the landscape HDMI mod baked into the ROM so there is one feature that isn't present in Aura yet.
Actually there is the reason
I think you can just install Darside and a blue artic theme or another theme here...
hey guys. Just as the thread states, if I use rom toolbox to flash a custom font (any) it throws my phone into bootloops. Anyone know how to fix this issue? Roboto was great when I first got it, now it looks plain.
Thanks for the warning!
Have you tried contacting the dev though the Market? He may have some insights.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
well, then don't do that. LOL!
Are you wanting to. Know how to get out of the boot loop ?
