Hey everyone,
For those that have this Rom, do you get a rotated view when doing Google video chat? Is this just a known bug or there a fix? Thanks for any info.
I am using the latest version of the gingerth3ory rom and having the same issue...any word yet on a possible fix?

Last time I saw anything, it was a problem with Talk on Gingerbread roms and the way it interacts w/ the FFC. I don't believe it is gingerth3ory specific. Not sure if the problem has been solved since then.
Ziggys kernel fixed this on gingeritis. Fyi

I finally have Gtalk video/voice working on two way calls, but the images are rotated. So either I have to look sideways or the person I'm talking to has to turn their head. Anyone out there have any suggestions for a fix?

I don't think there is a solution for this yet.

This is a problem with the app itself. There is no fix at this time.
where's the apk to get video on gtalk working on the phone? I didn't see anything in the menus to do this on the current gtalk.

I can't seem to find the exact link I used, but if you google "lithid gapps 0504" you can get a flashable zip w/ a functional talk1.3 apk. I've been using this on CM7 and the camera orientation is fixed.
Also, I think there's a talk 1.3 installer application that's downloadable from the market. Apparently this fixes things too, but I haven't tried it myself.

Doesn't work on mine, and neither does TV Shows Stream, which used to work before I rooted and flashed RoyalGinger. I'd like to know if anyone has gotten it to work with RoyalGinger...
Going to need to fix flash now. I did not know about this site or app thanks for posting. The app looks to work just fine but the silly flash bug we are all dealing with right now is a pain. Aka sound but no picture.
Yeah, that's exactly what I have as well, sound but no picture on both apps. So this flash bug is resident to certain ROMs or to a rooted phone in general? Couldn't be to the device, as flash worked ok for me before I rooted and flashed RoyalGinger 2.1.
Works on virtuous unity

I have not had time to look into it but it looks to be with certain ROMs with new versions of the flash player.
Works fine on mine.
CM7 + faux123's latest version of the 2.6.35.13 kernel. I also have the modified version of Flash that allows me to watch Hulu on my browser.
Where do you get this modified version of Flash? I just installed 10.3.185.25 from the market and it still doesn't work.

Hello Aria users. Anyone having problems with Skype on their Aria? I`m getting constant force closing. Has any of you been able to make one of the modded Skype versions work on the Aria.
My Aria is on Liberated 2.2.2 ROM
Thanks for the input.

Same here on HTC Legend. I just gave up and went back to the Market's version.
My Google Talk version number is listed as 1.3 and phone OS is 2.3.4, but my talk still has no voice and video. Anyone know what this is about?

I believe 1.3 is the latest.
Is it working for you? if so, are you on stock non rooted.
Have you clicked in your name within the app and then check marked allow voice and video? Yes, 1.3 is the newest one.

I'm aware. But none of the instructions work. Followed similar procedure to when on 2.3.3 but without the libs since they should be in 2.3.4... No dice. Even tried with libs. No worky

I don't understand why HTC and Motorola (photon 4g running 2.3.4) have the latest updates ( 2.3.5 is more for the nexus s 4G ) and video talk doesn't work out of the box, there is not point of changing the number if everything doesn't work as aosp gingerbread

I have the latest GTalk according to the version number. It's the old version though, I know about clicking on my name and selecting voice and video. There is no option there. I had the 1.3 on before the update and it worked great, now after the update the app is back to how it originally was but with a different version number. It's not with video at all. Flashing didn't work before when I tried it on 2.3.3

Try flashing a rom with it already built in. every rom i have tried has the newest gtalk already installed
Im on wtsb now and i have gtalk with video and it runs great. also have skype running as well. Im a happy camper just flash a custom rom if you root..
Working Video
I downloaded the file from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062980
extracted the Talk2.apk and pushed it to apps from recovery in ADB. I didn't remove anything (which seems odd), but I now have working video in Talk.
Edit:
I tried a video call and it failed. I had to follow my own instructions from this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16192477&postcount=29
Yeah I took the Talk2.apk from ViperROM & renamed it Talk.apk. I used root explorer to move it & fixed the permissions.
I just performed an install of cm7 a3.5 on a brand new touchpad and have run into a problem with gtalk. Gtalk shows everyone as offline after a short period of time and logging out and back in doesnt always solve the issue.
I wasnt able to find much searching on this topic. Does anyone else have similar problems or ideas for a fix?
Thanks!

I have the time set correctly. If this isnt a cm7 problem in general should I wipe and reload it? If so, what steps would be necessary to do so?
i hate using gtalk on the touchpad. the gtalk apps are just really buggy, imo. even on other phones i've had they've always had issues. if you really want the chatting ability just download any other messenger that supports gtalk.

I like the app and I dont like the extra junk in other messengers. I may just have to live with that though since noone else seems to have this problem.
i have that issue. also there's an issue when i log out where it doesn't really log me out or close the app.
i keep holding out hope that the ICS version will fix my complaints.
I have the same issue, logging out then in has always fixed it for me though.

I haven't run across this issue yet and I use gtalk on a regular basis. possible that it's because I'm using the gapps package with new gtalk? I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
