Do you have more than one Google calendar that you used to sync with HTC calendar? I had 5 different Google calendars visible on my evo 4g. The new HTC calendar on the evo 3d does not give me the option to add more than one Google calendar (or if it does, then for the life of me I can't find it).
Previously it would initially just show the primary Google calendar, and you would go menu > calendars > menu > + , and you would then be able to check boxes to add all the rest of your Google calendars. I can't find this option in the e3d at all; you can click on "multiple calendars " at the top, but there is no option to add you other calendars.
Anyone figure this out?
deleted data from Calendar Storage (menu > settings > applications > manage applications > ), rebooted, and they all showed up finally. thanks for all the help.
Menu - settings -Accounts and sync. Select the account you want and then check calendar. Do that for each Google account. I am currently syncing three accounts and the all display properly in the HTC calendar widget.

what about some of the sports calendars you can add to your calendar through the desktop page? I have a couple football teams added and they show up on the desktop page but not in my HTC calendar. When I go to a list of all the calendars on the phone they are not listed.

Yes. From the pc. When u are in Gmail calendar it gives us an option to add sports teams calendars. None of those show up on the phone. They do show on the pc though.

Google only allows access to the calendar API from the web interface for third party calendars, that is why it works on your browser on your PC. This has been an issue for some time.
There is a work around that involves using yahoo sports calendars and importing them into your Google calendar.

I am not referring to separate accounts - it does separate accounts fine.
I am not referring to third party calendars either.
What I am referring to is one Google account that has multiple calendars that you have created for it. In sense 1.0, 2.0,, and 2.1 it was able to add the secondary calendars from the same Google account just fine. Not with this version of sense 3.0 HTC calendar. In prior versions it was a simple matter of adding the calendars from within the HTC calendar app. I can see that Google sync is working just fine as Smooth Callender widget can see that all the calendars from the one Google calendar exist ; however no data are being pulled from them because HTC calendar is not allowing me to add and sync them.
Once again this worked fine in all prior versions of sense calendars.
bump...
anyone know how to do this? please see post #1 and post #8. this is really killing me, I use multiple google calendars and need them. missing my OG EVO right about now... root couldn't come soon enough, get me some 2.1 calendar back on board.
Does hitting the bar at the top (beside the search button) not let you choose which calendars for the app to search? I have 4 calendars showing from my main gmail address as well as one more from my work gmail address.

I only get one google calendar showing up, and my exchange and facebook and PC sync. my other 3 google calendars don't show when I hit that bar.
are you saying that you have multiple calendars from one google account showing when you hit the top bar? anything you did to get them to show there, or were they all there from the start?
If you are seeing more than one calendar from one gmail account, maybe I need to do a factory reset.

I am having trouble syncing my contacts that I inputed on my Atrix to Gmail. Even if the contact is Linked to both Phone and Google, none of the contacts show up on Gmail from my computer, but if I add a contact from my computer, it shows up on my phone. How can I sync from my phone to Gmail? btw, this is my first Android device.
Thanks.
I have exactly the same issue and it's driving me nuts! Creating a new contact on the phone adds it to the "Contacts" group but there doesn't seem to be a way to get that to sync with google/gmail. Have you found a way around this?
Ok, my phone auto syncs it with contacts and gmail, but I think I know why yours isn't.
Open the contact and verify that it has a linked profile to your google account. If it does not, then link it.
If it does, go to settings > accounts > gmail account
Hit the menu button and sync. Log into your gmail account on the desktop version, not mobile version, hit contacts, click all contacts and verify.

If I create a brand new contact I can't link it to gmail because the contact does not exist in gmail. Your method only works if I have the contact in gmail/google also.
Anyone solve this yet? I'm dealing with 150 contacts or so that were imported from a sim card and trying to figure out how to get them into gmail.
I think I might be able to do export all contacts to a file, then email it to myself, then import all contacts to gmail but I'm trying to avoid CSV errors.
thunderbolt
I am having the same issue in my thunderbolt. I just rooted it and when I went to look for a contact that I added when I got the phone I realized it never was sent to my gmail account and now it is not synced.
Thunderbolt
Through some searching I found that the thunderbolt defaults to a "phone" contact when you enter one on the phone. You have to select it as a Google contact before you even put it in the phone. You can't change this after putting in the contact. I'm glad I found this out early enough so that I only lost one contact.
I had this issue and found how to solve it:
Open ContactsApp->Menu->More->Settings
Here each phone is a bit different but you will be able to choose how to set your new contacts, whether it will be on your phone contacts, a specific gmail account or all.
In My Motorola Atrix, it automatically saves to contacts (and cannot be removed) and if you have more than 1 gmail account it all gets mixed up there and you should add/select the right one.
Hope it helps.

Just to be clear, we are talking about viewing contacts on your Atrix and not viewing contacts on GMail on your PC. The point being that Motoblur does not push contacts from the various Social Networking accounts to your Google hosted Gmail contacts. I think you already know that but wanted to be sure. Did you try to delete your FB account on the Atrix and re-add. Also, and this should not make any difference, but I do not have the FB app installed. I find it a bit useless.
I'm just starting off with Android, and I can't figure out how to get my Google Calendar synced with the S3. Here is a screenshot of when I hit Calendars in "S Calendar": http://i.imgur.com/p3CcV.png
When I create a new event, I can choose which calendar it should be in: http://i.imgur.com/7V5lS.png
I created a Test event and tried choosing either of the other calendars, saving and syncing, but no matter what I cannot see the event on any other machine with my Google account. In Accounts and Sync, my Google account options are all checked to sync. This damned thing will not sync, though
(Contacts syncs fine, thankfully). Would appreciate any help!

My advice is to login from your notebook or desktop computer first and access Google Calendars directly as you can setup your main calendar much easier there. Once setup (calendar name, color, sharing options, etc), you can easily go under S Calendar and choose to sync the name of the calendar you just created online.
Afterwards, you'll be able to add/delete events from both your device or on your computer. Hope this helps!
Thanks, the problem is a little different now as I finally got the damned thing to sync with my Google account. Now, every time I create a new Event I keep getting the default calendar to be Samsung Calendar: https://www.dropbox.com/s/iq8bco0pnp7s2ni/Screenshot_2012-06-28-21-23-52.png
Yet in the S Planner Settings > Calendars I have this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdj6hpp3tjvo66y/Image-1530870737.png As you can see, I only have my Gmail account checked, I have the My Calendars/Tasks and Samsung account all unchecked.
I even went into Accounts and Sync and unchecked every option for my Samsung account there, so the only account syncing right now on my phone is my Google account. Still the new Events in S Planner default to the Samsung Calendar!?! Greatly appreciate any way to solve this
Have you tried clearing data in calendar and calendar storage in settings yet? Then resync calendar stuff after that.

I'm having the same issue after I created a new gmail account. It syncs fine with my BlackBerry. When I added my new gmail account on my S2 it wouldn't sync my calendar or contacts. I thought there was an issue with my S2. It won't sync to my S3 as well. Is there something in gmail that I have to do? The calendar dates are still syncing on my old gmail account.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks, I did that, even rebooted the phone, but Samsung Calendar is still default. I think I'm going to use Jorte and forget about S Planner, despite how great it looks :/
I fixed my gmail calendar sync issues. No need to respond in case someone figures it out later on.
I got Calendar Calendar Events synced just fine, but apparently it won't sync Google Tasks. It wants you to use the Samsung-specific task system I guess. That sucks.
As soon as I root my phone I will delete the calendar app. I use the "Jorte" calendar app (available in Play store) which syncs everything and has the most robust options of any calendar app that I've seen so far (wince the last time I went app hunting last November, could be new apps by now). Jorte allows you to view Google Calendar Events and Google Tasks at the same time in multiple, customizeable different types of views (monthly, various versions of weekly views, daily, etc). Jorte is SUPER customizeable. I have found no other app that comes close in terms of functionality.
Another app call "LLama - Location Profiles" lets you automatically customize just about any aspect of your phone depending on your location and time of day. It will change your profiles automatically when you enter or leave a location at certain times. You can even tell it to remind you about something based on location and time. For example, you can have Llama remind you to "Clean Mom's car" when you arrive at Mom's house, or to "Ask my boss that question before I leave work!" if you are at your work location and it is almost time to leave.
That's a shame Samsung won't let you sync Google Tasks.
It's even more of a shame that Android's native Calendar app doesn't support Google Tasks. Come on now Google!

Thanks, yeah I have gone through oodles of calendar and task apps over the last few days, tried damn near everything worth trying, and I've settled with an excellent combo for me: Astrid + Jorte + Agenda Widget. It does everything I need. Thanks for the Lama app heads-up, will check it out!

same here
What's the "desktop g-calendar?"
Though I've been using Jorte all this time quite happily, after resetting a few days back I solidified that not entering your Samsung account information on first boot of the phone solves the S Planner syncing/calendar choice issue pretty much. You must set your Google account up first, then a Samsung account if you'd like. S Planner will then see the Google account as "default" and use it.

S3 Calendar Syncing issue
I just added a Google Calendar from the play store. Synced instantly!
unprofessional
Dear Google-Android- and Samsung-S3-developers!!
Here is a list of some very annoying facts:
- I have a Sasmung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 with the latest Android-Version 4.1.2.
- if I set up a new Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account on my S3 and sync it with my corperate Exchange 2010 Server I have duplicated entries in my S-Planner Calendar right from the very first sync.
- especially birthday entries (untimed entries with yearly repeat) are duplicated.
- I can reproduce this bug no matter how often I delete the calendar memory, remove and re-instal the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account, reset my phone etc.
- if I google this bug I get thousands of hits where users are reporting the very same bug with their Android phones (like in this thread).
- some of these duplicate entry bug reports go back for more than 1 year but so far no solution.
- syncing of contacts, emails and calendar entries with MS Exchange is considerd to be a basic function of a smart phone. That's why this functions is part of the pre-installed OS.
- the pre installed Exchange clients on all other devices (Apple iPhone, Nokia Symbian or Windows phones etc.) do NOT have this bug. Thus this is an Android bug and not MS Exchange.
SO WOULD YOU PLEASE FINALLY FIX THIS ANNOYING BUG IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!
just got my new S3 last night, pretty happy. However, I can't get FB events/birthdays to show up in the calendar like my previous Amaze did? There is no calendar option under the accounts and sync option for facebook?
Any ideas?
You have to add a "Facebook (for sync)" account (I don't if that's the correct translation, I don't have my phone in English), you don't even need to install the Facebook app. Then you need to allow the permissions it asks, if you reject or remove any of it, then it won't work.
Awesome! Thanks!
I'm getting events but no birthday?

The easiest way to do it is, go to facebook calendar on your browser, copy the export calendar link, add this link on your google calendar via web browser. Now when you go to your google calendars on your android, you will be presented with 2 new calendars facebook events and facebook birthdays.
Its very effective that way

I tried that and gave me the link was wrong. So i exported it as iCal and imported in good calendar. Worked like a charm.
One question though, every time i have a new event coming up or add a new friend on FB, i will have to re-export, am i right? because it doesn't auto update them.
The only way to keep updated is the app?
Thanks for your input guys

Ahhh I see what you mean. But like when you go to the phone tab on the very left, all your facebook friend's contacts are there. I don't think you can get rid of this
I don't recall this being a problem on my previous android devices.
Calendar entries made online in Google Calendar sync back fine to my phone. However, if I create an appointment in my GN2 calendar, it doesn't sync back to online google calendar. I thought maybe it was just the calendar app problem, but I installed Jorte calendar and it behaves the same way? Am I doing something wrong? I can't find any settings to speak of in the calendar app.
When you are creating your appointment, are you choosing your Google calendar at the top of the page?

Ouch, I didn't know that you had to do that when entering appoints directly into the phone calendar app. What a Gomer I am. Tried your fix and it works fine!
Thanks!
By "your Google calendar", do you mean any google acccount [email protected]? I am trying to work with the stock calendar, and DigiCal.
I am having similar issues, can't sync back to the PC with events entered on my Note 2.
I notice that the account I think I should be using has a long random (not mine) string of characters like [email protected] as the adddress. Is that normal or a sign that something is screwed up?
I just want to sync event to my PC calendar from my phone.
