I have Lite'ning Rom 1.5 on my i9100, and it is quite good. Missing the CIFS module from the kernel though...
They're all the best. Try them all and make your own mind up.

Use a stock rom if u want battery life (i ussually use KS2/KS9)
Use a custom rom with overclock if u are searching speed. More speed involves more battery drain.
Use a stock rom if u are searching stability, they are the only which hasn't bugs.
The three things together are impossible. Speed will drain ur battery. Custom rom involves bugs.
Try the latest stcok indiam firmware and several others, like 2.3.5 or 2.3.6

he said he's new.... chill... use stock for best battery n less bugs. to use custom roms posted, first, check the bugs. dont repeat to post the bugs n asking for solution over and over again. read a lot. u need it..!!
I think no one can say what the BEST Rom is for you.
You have to try out for yourself.

Have a look at my thread => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26775950
I have tested the stock kernels on the corresponding stock ROMs.
For me ... on my phone with my normal usage (which is "light"), XWLPD has best battery life.
Depending on some settings, which I found here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16973603

Although that is a vague and discouraged question in XDA (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612881), I'll bite.
I'm using the stock XWLPG firmware with Siyah kernel (default settings) and am getting around 5.5h screen-on time with heavy usage. That's considered good to me. My advice is to just go with a stock rom with Siyah/Speedmod kernel.
Just test out different roms and see what you like
Sorry man. You need to decide what's the best for you. Also you should have read this

Plz share your experience which kernel is good for healthy battery life ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
There's no such thing. So many variables determine battery life, and everyone will have a slightly different (at least) experience with a particular kernel because everyone has their phone setup/uses their phone differently.
Given how easy it is to flash kernels, backup & restore with CWM/Recovery, try some kernels out & see how they work for you.

CM10 is still in nightly builds so you won't get some of your components working and still will have lots of bugs, Stock jb is currently better... But still i wont tell you to use it, try stable roms like revolt which is based on CM10.
Try rephrasing your question like "which rom is advised or suggested CM10 or stock JB? "
Using GT - I9100

Getting user opinion ain't the same thing and avoids a lot of hassle and gives a better understanding for example if I and several people suggest a to friend to get a DROID instead of the closed Apple iOs i am doing him a lot of favor, saving him time and money.

Between the two CM10 is faster but graphics processing might be slightly less buggy in the stock, anyway the current stock jb is a leaked version and it won't be the same as an official stock version. I recommend you use CM9 stable if looking for a great gaming experience. Or if you are insistent on JB then look at other custom roms like the one I mentioned before.

Hey every1
so I wanted to fix a SGS3 of a friend of mine who isn't so much into modding. His phone lags like hell, keyboard and calls, just everything. I'm personally on a GNEX and couldnt stay one minute with a phone in this condition.
Well i thought about Supercharge his phone, maybe also changing the Kernel before, but leave the rest stock... but maybe it wont be enough and I'll have to flash him a ROM.
Now I ain't got a SGS3 to flash me trough all kind of ROMs in order to see for myself what works and what not.
So what I'm asking for are some recommendations. The ROMs for SGS3 are all different then then these on GNEX...
There are many and i want to reduce my options to lets say 3-4 ROMs and some kernels...
Anyone?
Thanks
This is so gonna turn into a best ROM/Kernel thread...

Well.... i dont search for the best ROM since its very individual. I search for one that is near to stock and stable. My friend won't need any customization...
Then try what's available. Read the different rom descriptions.

too much Im just asking for some names dude, I will read them then... just to cut down the options available, so less work...
On my personal opinion, I'll suggest CheckROM.
I've used it as a daily all round rom juiced with latest siyah kernel.
No lags and no un necessary batterydrain.
Sorry for my bad english, as this is my first post to englis only forum in ages
