Apologies in advance for being such a n00b.
I'm currently running CM7 RC1.1 with the MR2 radio on my rooted TBolt.
Heard lots of good things about BAMF 3.0 and thought I'd give it a try.
Did a complete wipe. Installed. Immediately after boot, things started going wrong. Lots of crashes even before I could sign into my Google Acct, VZW appeared briefly and went away altogether, and I couldnt connect to any wifi network.
Tried a few reboots. Reflashed the MR2 radio. Did a complete reset. Still no success.
I'm back on CM7 now but very keen on trying BAMF. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

Did you flash BAMF from ROM Manager or Recovery. Don't flash from ROM Manager. Flash it directly from the recovery. Also try wiping multiple times.
I did flash from recovery. Will try multiple wipes this time. Just to be clear, which selection in recovery is the proper one for a complete wipe?
Thanks for the idea!

I am preparing to flash this rom.. i am a n00b and cant reply in developmentel forums. I was wondering if someone hasd this rom and could help me.
It says not to wipe with 1.2 treat it as an upgrade. Does this apply to the people who already have this rom just an easrlier version? I am flashing from the stock rom should i wipe..?
Yes, if you are flashing for the first time, wipe data, wipe cache and dalvik cache.
dalivk cache? what is that?
reboot into recovery and there should be an option. I did just have a bad install though of this rom after getting virus working, It couldve been a bad DL or install who knows, but please make sure to make a backup of your system before you wipe. Its just always smart to do so you know you always have something to revert to. I had freeze ups twice but just rebooted into recovery and am restoring now. I only say this so if something does go buggy you dont freak.
you have to flash 1.1 first before 1.2. I do not know if 1.2.1 fixes that but as of a few hours ago that is how it had to be done. I kept getting my TB stuck on the storm and never logged into the phone.
no you dont...i never installed 1.1, just wiped cache and dalvik and flashed right over the old debloat rom..
The whole point is that apparently a lot of people are having issues booting into Das BAMF 1.2 after wiping data. So, basically, you want to NOT wipe (which is the exact opposite of normal ROM flashing behavior).
A "sure fire way" to succeed is to (obviously, backup first) install Das BAMF 1.1, wipe data&cache, boot ... add your gmail accounts and let everything settle, reboot into recovery and install Das BAMF 1.2, and just reboot WITHOUT wiping.
I came from using Das BAMF 1.1 and had no issues, but I didn't wipe. Good luck!
ok, i installed 1.2.. froze my phone.. had to do a recovery.. seems to be fine..
i see theres a 1.2.1.. should i do that with a wipe? or should i do 1.1 with wipe then upgrade?
My experience too.

This is how I got it working. This ROM screams on my phone! Also keep in mind that the boot animation is short and the reboot after install is usually long. I waited at least 10 minutes before doing a battery pull.
Coming from the boLTEd rom I am assuming to wipe everything, flash 1.1, then flash 1.2. Here goes!!
All this talk of not wiping makes me wanna grab some sanitizer. hehehe

Yeah this is what happened to me. I was going to try doing what you did but it was 2 am my time already and had to be up for work in five hours. I put the virus rom on first to see the look and feel of it, so had to do a data wipe, when I went to do das. Ill try DAS again later tonight, i think i may like the feel of this one more after playing around with virus for a bit. right now Im back to my stock root de bloated with what I did, so if i have problems this afternoon ill post back.
You guys running this... is Tango working for you? I can't get it to activate my camera
I've tried the Liquid Thunderbred 2.2 and 2.3 and I can't get either if them to work. I get a constant android.phone force close. Using 627r and I do a full wipe procedure. Any ideas? I've heard good things about this rom and would like to try it out.
Did you try format system in recovery. Do after you wipe data and cache. Then load ROM.
Good luck it is nice ROM

i am having this same issue regardless of what rom I use. It fc and then it acts like it has lost the 3g signal. I am going mad here with trying to figure out what is causing it to crash when I try calling. It isnt consistent either as some numbers arent crashing. any ideas?
I had issues with mine until I did a full wipe, loaded the radio first (MR2.5) followed by installing LTBv2.3. Make sure the back is on too. I kept wondering why I only had a x1.5 connection for a couple hours, thought I had screwed up installing the radio. Eventually I popped on the backing and it was fine.
A lot of what your experiencing is either a radio issue or a full wipe issue,,, I wipe data, cache, and dalvick cache at least twice and then load whatever radio that the rom suggests and when the rom loads up give it time to normalize, dont rush it. Be careful reformatting anything in cwm it will erase data on your SD card.

I just flashed back to Vegan Ginger. My GTab spent most of its life on that ROM. Since I flashed back to it, though, the wi-fi doesn't turn on when I turn on the tablet--I have to manually turn it on each time.
That's not that bad, but I think it's related to my real problem--some apps are telling me they don't have a network connection and to make sure the tablet isn't in airplane mode. The New York Times app always does this now, and it never had an issue before, on any other ROM, including Vegan Ginger. The wi-fi is on and it is definitely connected to the internet. I am sure it must be a setting, I just can't find the one to change. Anyone seen this before?
Thanks in advance.

Flashed back from what? When you flashed VG did you do a data/factory reset, wipe cache & wipe dalvik cache?
Hm. I probably flashed from CM7.1.0. It's possible that I flashed from stock 3588 immediately after an NV Flash, but I think I went from CM7.1.0 after I couldn't figure out how to activate USB transfer on CM.
Either way, my process to flash a new ROM is:
1) Wipe data/factory reset
2) Wipe cache partition
3) Wipe dalvik cache
4) Install ROM from SD card
5) Reboot.
What's weird is how VG was different on this install than the previous one. The lock screen was slightly different. Same ROM zip file that's been on the SD card since the first time, though.

The 3 versions (Froyo, Ginger, HC)each have different locks.
I seems to remember either CM7 or one of the kernels not working with USB.
If I were you I would try a Fix permissions & see if that fixes it. If not, redo your process above.
I meant like it was different from VEGAn Ginger when I had it installed the last time on my GTab a week ago. I got it to go back, mostly, it just seems like the preferences were different. Which is why I thought the wi-fi might be a preference issue--the wi-fi box unchecks itself each time the tablet is rebooted.
I'll try fixing the permissions, that sounds promising.
Wait...uh...what's that? (Or how do I do it?)
Thanks.

Found it, thanks. Didn't fix it.
Hm. Have re-installed VEGAn GE several times. No improvement.
It's in Brilliant Corners on the 1.2 BL too--you open the NY Times app and it says there's no connection and to check that you're not in airplane mode.
Fixing permissions doesn't seem to do anything. The app worked before on this GTab, and it works fine on my Droid Pro. What the heck?
I installed Cyanogenmod 7 a week ago, and everything was pretty much working fine.
Randomly today, all 4 of the soft buttons stopped working in the middle of me using my phone. I believe I was checking scores on an NFL app. Regardless, reapplying the CM7 zip didn't fix it. I tried factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache. Nothing.
Decided to try to reroot. Reapplied ED05, which is what I did before I installed CM7. Got back to essentially factory... soft buttons still don't work. Reinstalled CM7... took, but soft buttons won't work.
I thought I read somewhere that this is an issue with gapps, but I can't seem to find that page or people discussing it again. Installing gapps again didn't work.
I'm willing to get my phone back to it's most basic level, and even erase the SD card if I need to, but not sure how to clear my phone moreso than my reverting back to ED05.
Thanks for your input guys.
Also, I had reinstalled my apps using Titanium, but not the app data. Again, everything was just fine for a week.
Also, having done a bunch of flashing and what not, I dont' know what happened, but now when I long press the power button, the menu comes up. When I try to use volume up/down to navigate to power off, all I get is volume going up and down
So, i know this thread is sort of dead, but this happened to my fascinate a while back with a version of CM7 mtd (55 maybe?)... I'm fairly convinced that the sensors for the buttons (and the lights for that matter) are completely shot, but I can't really test that. I have flashed back to stock, re-rooted it,and done everything I can think of to fix it.
You probably messed the phone up for good... my advice (if you haven't already done it): get a new phone.
I've noticed that when I revert back to stock ED05, and flash CM7 on top of that, it doesn't work right. minor to major glitches appear...
What i did was flash back to stock ED05, then ran the update to Gingerbread EH03... Then flashed CM7 with Glitch v13 kernel. seemed to fix a lot of my issues.
idk if this helps or it's just a flook, but just sayin...
Will try this out

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm having the same issues as the OP with failing soft keys after flashing through CM7 to an android 4.1 based ROM, Paranoid Android. Is the Glitch kernel built into Cyanogenmod 7 or did you load it separately?

If you are already on ICS just wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash. If not just flash up to ICS and flash kernel with ROM (same cwm session). You may want to do some reading in that thread first to make sure you get right version for your ROM.

I've tried it all folks. New kernels, factory reset, different radios, different ROMs. Every-thing. The WiFi will turn on for a quick second and I will get an error message "Unable to scan for networks" and then the Wifi will just turn on and off on and off over and over again. I've even deleted the files in the data/dhcp and data/wifi folders. Rebooted, still same issue. I've deleted the files and flashed a kernel and rebooted, still same issue.
Of course I am still in contract and will have to purchase a new phone outright from Verizon if I can't get this issue resolved......
I don't know what else to do here.....
Did you try formatting data and system before installing a new rom from recovery? If that doesn't work i would say its a hardware issue. You're not restoring system data with any backup programs are you?

I've wiped pretty much everything known to man on the phone. The ROM installs are all "fresh" I haven't tried to install any APPS on the phone. Just wipe everything, factory reset / Dalvik Cache, all of it... install fresh ROM. Try to turn on Wifi, phone boot loops. No matter what ROM I install, still same issue with Wifi / boot looping.
Well guess we can close this out. I went out and paid full boat for a Samsung Nexus since I couldn't fix this issue.
I'd like to reopen this topic. I had been running Bamf Forever 1.10, but last night I decided to try another ROM because it's been running really slow for some reason.
Did a wipe (factory reset, Dalvik cache) and installed Thunderstick. Now WiFi is broken -- the exact same problem as described in the original post. I tried flashing a new kernel and new radios, and cannot get WiFi to work.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Will flashing back to stock ROM/unrooting help?
Thanks!
@ajoesq I had the same problem when i installed thunderstick thru boot manager. My wifi stopped and I could get it going on my phone rom. So i booted back into thunderstick and wifi was working. Booted back to hte phone rom then into recovery and then i flashed my phone rom again without wiping or anything (Thunbershed V1.2) and it worked fine. wifi started agian.

Run a logcat when you try to turn wifi on. Put the output on pastebin.com and post the link. This might tell us what the problem is.
I'd make sure that the radio(s) were at least at the minimum of what the ROM called for.
