While they are working on permissions and Titanium Backup, you can disable Sprint bloatware with the temp root.
Once you have temp root, go in adb shell and type:
pm list packages <- (this will show you the list of packages)
pm disable NAME_OF_PACKAGE <-(type the name of the package you want to disable)
Disabling is not as good as uninstalling but it unloads the package from memory, from the list of apps, etc... the .apk is still there but it won't be accessible.
Here's a list of packages from Sprint i have disabled
pm disable com.amazon.mp3
pm disable com.gameloft.android.SPRINT.GloftSMHP.ML
pm disable com.blockbuster.app.htc
pm disable com.wsttek.jcp
pm disable com.mspot.android.music.mspotradiosprint
pm disable com.handson.h2o.nascar09
pm disable com.gameloft.microwidget
pm disable com.sprint.ce.updater
pm disable com.telenav.app.android
pm disable com.sprint.smps
pm disable com.sprint.dsa

Nice list. I'm assuming as of now, it all reverts upon restarting the phone?
it would actually stay... but Titanium Backup is now working so you can remove bloatware... this thread is now pointless

as i currently dont have my phone can someone help me in testing my app. In package manager i have tried to implement a way i can remove system apps without having to list files in /system/app.
it should first of use busybox to remove the package in /system/app, then use busybox and package manager to remove the leftover data in /data/data.
could someone test this update for me??

Since running ICS 4.0.3 (LPB, LPH, PLQ and now LP7 offical) on my SII I haven't been able to unfreeze frozen apps via Mybackup/Titanium Backup.
Developers of the software are not aware of any issues with ICS, I have root through chainfire kernel, I have tried reinstalling Busybox just in case.
When entering the commands manually with terminal emulator on device/adb
pm enable PACKAGE_NAME
reports
Package PACKAGE_NAME new state: disabled
Anyone have any ideas, I can only find existing google results/forum posts relating to freezing app, not any issue in in unfreezing apps!
Update- Just tried a fresh LP7 odin flash, followed by CF-root LP7. ADB shell commands are still unable to re-enable disabled apks
I'm guessing there must be an issue with the rom/cf-root kernel...
+1
I'm also having this issue? Can anyone help?

How right you are.
Marvellous stuff.
possible workaround, at least it worked on my GB 2.3.6
I ran into the same issue on [XXLC1][2.3.6] CheckROM NoteHD™ V6 (Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000). I froze the MP3-Player and couldn't defrost it. Same luck with pm enable...
It may or may not help on your ROM, however here's how I solved/worked around it on mine:
1. went to Titanium and made a backup of the app
2. uninstalled the app with Titanium
3. looked up the package name with pm on the adb shell
Code:
# pm list packages -d
4. pm indicated it's still installed but disabled... so I took the package name and uninstalled it
Code:
# pm uninstall com.android.music
pm uninstall com.android.music
Success
# pm uninstall com.android.music
pm uninstall com.android.music
Failure
I just tried twice to make sure it's not faking
5. went back to Titanium and restored the backup, App + Data
just my 2ct, hope it helps
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. Sems to be fine with CM9
Every "uninstall app" on the Market starts Avast when i try to uninstall an app!
Hi everyone, I have a problem, recently i rooted and s-off my Evo 3D GSM, leaving it on stock original ICS rom (4.0.3; Sense 3.6) because i don't like custom made roms.
The thing is, when i use any of the uninstall apps out there on the Market (Uninstaller, Easy Uninstaller), and i mark an app to uninstall and hit Uninstall button, Avast pops out and asks for PIN... (I use Avast and its AntiTheft features, big fan). Then i get a message " Package installer has stopped unexpectedly. Whould you like to tell HTC?" Then the "system" asks for root permissions, which i granted (system; root(0); app UID 1000; command /system/bin/sh - info from Superuser app ), but still i have to hit once again the uninstaller, and then i am on the Confirm/Cancel screen... and everything is ok then.
What can that be? Why is a simple uninstaller calling Avast and asking for root permissions? What should I do to fix this?

Why would you use an app installer app? That's the answer.
---------- Post added at 01:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:28 PM ----------
My logic is this: You want to remove a system app. And it's logical it requires "system root permissions" to do that. That's why it asks for permissions.
---------- Post added at 01:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:30 PM ----------
If that's not the case go to system settings - apps and remove it from there
---------- Post added at 01:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:32 PM ----------
Or disable Avast.
---------- Post added at 01:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:35 PM ----------
If it didn't help it's most likely a bad uninstaller app.
---------- Post added at 01:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:36 PM ----------
Oh, and it would help if you tell us what app you are trying to remove.
---------- Post added at 01:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:38 PM ----------
And the answer to why it calls avast is that it's most likely configured to monitor your phones activity and block access to unauthorized people from installing or removing any of your apps. So i'd start with checking out avast settings.

I am using the uninstaller app because it is a lot faster to uninstall something, otherwise i have to go to Settings/Apps/ and open app properties and than uninstall
No, I am not trying to remove a system app, only if Agent Dash game has became a system app somehow
The problem was that my avast has been configured to prevent any app uninstall in its settings, and i was dumb not to read detailed description of its "Uninstall protection" option - i logically assumed that it protects uninstillation of Avast itself, not every app out there
This one was my bad guys MrJyrks, thank You a lot for this reply, your last advice helped me out greatly

On a fairly old non-rooted Galaxy Tab A-tablet I wanted to uninstall all the Samsung and Microsoft apps and most of the Google packages to make it faster. Using adb shell pm uninstall -k user 0 I uninstalled 106 packages but after "com.sec.android.app.music" I suddenly can't uninstall packages anymore. Instead I get a DeadObjectException and the tablet reboots:
Code:
$ adb shell pm uninstall -k user 0 flipboard.boxer.app
android.os.DeadObjectException

at android.os.BinderProxy.transact(Binder.java:628)

at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit.nativeFinishInit(Native Method)
at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit.main(RuntimeInit.java:315)
It looks to me like pm needs something that isn't there, so I might have uninstalled something that it needs. My question is, how do I find out what it was, and, assuming is wasn't the Samsung music app, why did it function correctly until after I installed that?
Thanks for any help!
I have reset the tablet to factory settings and all the apps are there again, but even now I get the same error when attempting to uninstall any of them.
I'll bump this up, since I just ran into the same issue. At least, for me, I could continue to remove apps, including the one where I made a mistake on (added a space in the middle of the package name). Now, my settings app and another communications app won't work (messages and other apps are still good).
My command prompt text, just in case it'll help fix this issue. I don't know which app was the cause.
Code:
heroqltetmo:/ $ pm uninstall -k --user 0 com. samsung.android.ststub

at com.android.internal.os.RuntimeInit.main(RuntimeInit.java:287)
255|heroqltetmo:/ $ pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.ststub
Success
I'll keep checking to see exactly which apps I shouldn't have removed, but there were a few accidentals.
EDIT: Found a way to find the list of uninstalled apps from running the
Code:
pm list
command twice, one with and without a -u to get 2 lists of packages, all before and after the operation. I then used Excel to find and mark any duplicates. Then I took the remaining list and re-installed them (and restarting my device after a few changes). I hit a few issues, with setup wizard failing to work, missing contact names, the Contacts app and a communication app cannot open, settings fails to work, some apps produce sound despite on silent, and not being able to unlock my device (even with a swipe lock). I didn't reset the device, but restart it several times, including booting it to recovery mode.
I'll be uninstalling more apps, setup wizard was an immediate choice, when I could figure this out. In the meantime, I'll be sideloading an app to mute the device.
EDIT 2: No progress, whatsoever, but apps work fine except Settings and LINE (the previously mentioned communications app). LINE is uninstalled (I have it on computer), and apparently (for my default mesaging app), I could see my text messages, but not respond... I might get another device to use (doubting it, as it's the 4th or 5th device I've gone through).
Note: This guide helped me uninstall apps. It was something I spent a while trying to figure out, but finally found something that works (until there's a typo).
I didn't bother with resetting the device, but at least I made backups since I was prepared for a reset to flash custom ROM or just to get root. Well, I did a reset and the device is fixed now. I'll continue to uninstall apps as before.

EDIT: Uninstalling apps was smooth (at least i have a list now), but I hit the settings app keeps stopping issue after opening an app. Maybe because there's something missing...?
