[Q] Trying to use Atrix GPS on my laptop. - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I wish to use the GPS signal from my Atrix [T-Mobile, UK] on my laptop.
I have tried to use GPS Share but it's a convoluted process with the Android SDK "abd" command failing on my W7 system. I can't seem to link the virtual COM ports to the USB.
Anyone know of an easy way of doing this GPS tethering?
[I'm not too conversant with programming!]
Thanks in advance!

Cannot get tethering to work (MiniCM7 Pro V7x on Xperia X10 mini Pro)

Hi everyone! Hope someone can help out on this...
I have installed MiniCM7 Pro V7x (Android v2.3.5, Kernel 2.6.29) on my SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
It is rooted and everything works just fine... EXCEPT Wifi tethering. It is impossible to get any tethering app to work.
Barnacle will only go as far as "Starting..." and then nothing happens.
Wireless Tether for root users says "No Netfilter! Sorry, but your kernel does not have all necessary features for running this application."
Opengarden Wifi Tethering says the same thing "No Netfilter! Sorry..."
So my question now is clearly: Is it not possible to use Wifi tethering on this phone with this rom?
And secondly, can I use my phone as a modem if I run it with a USB cable instead, as a backup if Wifi tethering wont work? If so, can you recommend a guide somewhere describing how to do it?
Thank you all in advance! Looking forward for your replies...
I finally got it to work.
I needed iptables. Found a useful guide on this URL:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1184907
I then use Barnacle without any issues at all! Works flawless and I can connect multiple units (iPad2, Win7 x64 PC, Ubuntu 11.04 x86 PC and Debian ARM PC) at the same time...
Please help!

Hi,
Yes, you can use the adb folder of SuperOneClick directory.
ADB is Android Debug Bridge, a command line tool that lets you communicate with your conected device or emulator, this folder is also found in the SDK, available on Android Developers site.

[Q] Using Android as WLAN adapter [URGENT]

Hello guys, I have a specific question. I bet that it's very rare, but I bet that in this forum there are some real Android gurus.
The thing is that I need is to use my Android device as a Wifi adapter.
My problem is that I need to solve this scheme.
Home Computer [1] has internet connection via ethernet, but has no Wifi.
Laptop Computer [2] has Wifi, but has no internet connection.
The problem is that Computer[2] needs internet connection.
I want to share my internet from Computer [1] to Computer [2] via my Android (Gingerbread, Cyanogenmod, rooted).
Both computers are with Windows ([1] - XP, [2] - 7).
Could somebody help me? Or it's just not possible? This thread would be very helpful for our community.
And no, when you use integrated thethering function, phone does not act like a bridge. It does share it's 3G/2G broadband to Wifi or/and USB.
What android device are you using? Some android devices (from HTC) have an internet pass through service which could be useful in your situation.

In that case, you could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229558 then use a wireless tether app: https://market.android.com/details?id=android.tether&feature=search_result to share the internet with Computer [2].
The universal solution is here:

I found it here:

[Q] Connect Prime to Linux (Ubuntu) via USB

Hi everyone
Sorry if this has been asked before, to my surprise I didn't find anything:
Is there a easy way to connect the tf201 to Linux, in my case Ubuntu?
Thank you for your help!
I'm sort of wondering the same thing. For that mater can you boot anything from usb? ( other linux distro's etc) or a win xp live.

This might help: https://sites.google.com/site/insta...g-ubuntu/connect-android-3-0-and-up-to-ubuntu - this used the Galaxy Nexus as an example, but it should be the same for the Prime.
The issue is that these devices use MTP rather than simply exporting the filesystem. There are various reasons why google decided to use MTP rather than simply USB Mass Storage, which you can google if interested. The end result for us Linux users is it is a pain
The above does work though. I used the more complex to set up option 2, but it is not that complex.
Hope this helps.

[Q] USB connection to LINUX

Hello everyone. My name is Levi. I have an LG Connect 4G through MetroPCS. I am running a less well known operating system of SolusOS 1.2 Stable. I cannot seem to connect my phone. My OS doesn't even see it. It will see it if I choose USB tether for internet connection, but doesn't show for files or as a drive. Any help please would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
