You can try using TG01 in landscape mode to read pdf files, it might reduce the number of times you want to scroll or you could use other softwares that could open pdf files. However, since pdf versions can be opened only by few softwares and adobe being one of the best, I don't think you would find increased benefits of using anything else. TG01 has a massive screen so you already are in benefit of not scrolling as much as you might do in smaller phones!
Landscape view for reading is what I normally do. What
I normally use landscape view for reading but here I mean when I had Imate Jamin, I could read pdfs very easily with the Adobe2, because it had text wrapping function. The default Adobe doesn't have this text wrapping function. Can anyone suggest how the problem can be solved?

There are two types of PDF documents:
1) Image based or scanned documents (without OCR process) , that are just graphic documents, and
2) text documents (from a text source or OCR process)
1) Regarding the first type, we are limited by the screen size (I agree with other replies, working in landscape can help us). We can only scrolling across the document using a PDF reader. For this, I recommend Foxit Reader (http://www.foxitsoftware.com).
2) If instead, the pdf is based on text, the Adobe Reader that comes with the TG01 is useless, because it don't have the text re-flow option (I think that it's the same that shahzadahmad calls "text wrapping function")
You have to replace the Adobe Reader version. Mine is LE 2.5.00
If you want to try it, I've uploaded my copy, but it's in Spanish. I think that if you search a bit, you will find the same version (or newer) in English.
For text only, another great possibility is convert the PDF on EPUB with Calibra or AnyBizSoft PDF to EPUB and reading it with FREDA (a free EPUB reader)
http://www.turnip.demon.co.uk/jim/freda/freda6.htm. The reading experience it's much better (but you need an external PC to convert the document)
Hope this help you
UPDATE: I've just discovered a web site where you can convert online documents to EPUB and FREE!! : http://www.2epub.com/
I have an issue with the PDF viewer. When you write on it with the pen, even with the smallest pen settings, it writes WAY to large. When you zoom into a specific paragraph and annotate it, it looks like a child's marker did the annotating.
Has anyone been able to use the native E-reader (which does not have the issue) to work on PDF's? Or any other solution?
The pen size in PDF Viewer is a known issue.
Never thought about converting into ePUB for annotation in Reader... I use Calibre to convert PDFs to epub on my desktop. For me the extra conversion steps would not be very convenient... Maybe a long pdf or reference... But not the "everyday pdf in a email for work" type doc. Worth a shot though.
That is true, just trying to find a reason to keep the flyer. I love most things about it, but I bought it specifically for pdf annotating.
I'm on the same boat.
If you check forum.xda-developers.showthread.php?t=1097375&page=2 Gathering uploaded some samples. These open fine in Foxit for me, and I can modify those annotations.
Using the app is a different story though. Unless Foxit/HTC update the app I think all you can do is wait.
I have many PDFs i want to read on the Reader app that comes with the Flyer as i can note notes, comments and highlights.
i was wondering how can i import those into the Reader ? if they aren't via adobe Id nor ikobo?
thanks
You can use the PDF Viewer.
You can open the PDFs in the HTC Provided PDF Viewer. You can place the PDFs pretty much anywhere. It should find it, once you open the app. However you can also direct the program to open it from the menu button.
Also there are plenty of other options for viewing PDFs in the Android Market if you do not like the one HTC provides you.
Personally, I have all my PDFs in my MicroSD card.

yes the PDF Viewer can view the the file but its scrolling from top to bottom without the nice features in the Reader app:
Annotations
Bookmarks
Font Size
multiple reading scenes such as Night
i cant get PDFs into this reader app ?
sorry I misunderstood.
Depending on what type of PDF it is, you probably need to convert them into a epub file. After which you can add it like any other books.
Are you able to extract the taken in the Reader app?

i can view books in the Reader normally, but didn't know what do you mean about extracting ?
anyone knows how to read PDFs on HTC's Reader?
Like I said.
It all depends on what type of PDFs you are working with. If it is text based PDFs you can convert your PDFs into ePub. Like this Link. But I do not think this works with JPG based PDFs as you will not have any function of the reader, like using the Scribe pen. For PDFs with Jpgs I just use the PDF Viewer and you can still use your scribe pen, works great for my magazines and other PDFs that I have scanned and created into PDFs. Hope this helps.
So i want to make this pretty straight forward, I'm in college, I like to read my books on my tablet, I like to do all sorts of work on my tablet and until now I was a iLoser carrying around an iPad 2 which I had plenty of apps that I became accustomed too. That said, I now rock the Prime and the Galaxy SII skyrocket. I love android much more than crApple's ios. Can I get any student/professor/anybody that uses their fancy new hardware for work and the occasionally play to give me some great apps tips for the tablet? (first thing I downloaded was Evernote!)? Thanks a bunch! Perhaps if we get a bunch of suggestions we can make a section in the app's section for "school" or maybe "productivity" I also want to add that while I don't have the dock (yet) I will be purchasing one when I see it in stores. (whenever that is!)
*if everyone likes the idea of a productivity/school thread in the apps section I wouldn't mind making it and updating it.
(1) Android Office - The most complete office app I know. It's even got a spell checker.
(2) Ezpdf - best for hand write directly into your pdf files.
(3) Repligo - Best for opening very large pdf files. I use it to open and use regularly a pdf file that is 2000+ pages with lots of images. Renders pages instantly.
(4) Printershare - print through cloud print or through wireless.
(5) Writepad stylus - note taking app with palm rejection, meaning you can rest your hand on the screen and still be able to write. Can save your notes as pdf docs.
(6) Antipaper - Another note taking app that has palm rejection.
FYI, all of these apps were free at one point or other on amazon appstore.

I checked out both and one of the biggest problems I have with both is that I don't seem to be able to make folders to put notebooks in. I would want to have folders for each class, and then within the folder each notebook would be a lecture. Fairly surprised I cant do somethjing like that so not sure if I am missing something

Well, you could create your own folders. After you're done with a particular class, you could output the saved notes for that day as pdf and then store it in your own folder.
Or you could make several notebooks, one for each class, and then keep writing into the notebooks as if it's a paper notebook.
Added by edit.
Another idea is this. Just make blank pdf files or pdf files with lines and then use something like ezpdf or repligo to write directly into the pdf file.
Just a couple ideas.
The main idea is make due with what you have. Be creative. Don't just have a set of ideas of what you want and then get stumped when you can't do exactly what you want.
Oh yah it wouldn't be a big deal if I couldn't, just wanted to check if I was missing some way to do it.
If I can't make folders so long as I name them correctly it shouldnt be a problem since I can do a search for notebooks which should work out the same as a folder so long as my naming is good.
I should probably do the whole export and put in my own folders anyways as a just in case

I seem not be able to find it on any market.
You don´t happen to have a description/link, do you?
EDIT: I suppose you were talking about androffice, right?
In this case, I found it. But it looks like it doesn´t support .***x files, or does it?
Also it doesn´t support formulas in word documents, right?
Due to the nature of the lecture and slides it's best if I annotate/markup the slides themselves so Ive been using ezpdf, but I really like the ease of use and features of the stylus/handwriting, especially the zoom feature on antipaper (Ive seen this on some ipad pdf reader as well ). So are the any note taking apps that allow you to draw on pdfs, or any pdf reader/editors with more robust annotation/markup tools?

You can zoom in on your pdf in ezpdf (double tap, or two finger.... opposite of pinch) and do your annotations like that if you need to get closer for your notes.
And when you are zoomed in and have free hand annotations selected, you can use 2 fingers to scroll around even while still in annotation mode.
As for the repligo suggestion I personally found it not quite as nice for annotations because you have to do 3 taps just to start an annotation. Once to bring up menu's, once to select the menu, then again to select "draw freehand", where with ezpdf its just one click on the top bar and your going.
edit. If you are taking lots of notes off of powerpoint/pdf slides, check out this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1435453
With some help figured out how to add some extra blank space to the side of my slides for added room for notes (so the slide takes pretty well the whole screen and all of it is capable of annotating on.

Yeah I've tried all the apps mentioned in this thread, i was asking if there are any pdf annotation apps with the feature set of a stand alone hand writing app. I don't feel like ezpdf and repligo have the robust annotation features that i want.

yeah that's why I've been using ezpdf as of late, i especially Luke the fact that you can resize all the annotations after the fact. And thanks for the link
Sorry, I've been a bit busy, I plan on testing all these apps and pointers out tonight! thanks for the info!

what about the stock supernote app? Also, you could try just saving extra blank PDFs to your TP with lines in them (ie lined paper), as someone else suggested.

How can you even use this? I've tried but trying to write small letters on this is impossible. All i get withthis program are small lines and dots.
Hello everyone. I am new to the forum. I tried posting this under the Asus transformer section, but due to me having less that enough posts it said I must post in general.
So I tried looking on the forum for exactly what I wanted and could not find it. I want an app that will let me edit any office or PDF file and let me to do it with a stylus writing freehand. I don't want to merely edit and just write in text, or highlight I want to be able to use my stylus and actually circle a word in power point, or be able to write notes freehand with the stylus on the side of the PPT. I do notice that Adobe let's me kind of do it with it's reader, but it just feels really laggy for me. If there is an APP available for me to try I don't mind if I even have to purchase it due to it being used for school.
Please give me your input! and thank you for letting me be apart of your community!
Polaris Office which is included free with your Transformer Prime let's you create and edit Word, Excel and Power Point files. I don't know about scribble-annotating them since I don't believe that the Microsoft Office Suite knows how to display that kind of notation. Also for any meaningful editing you will need the onscreen keyboard or keyboard dock.
As for editing PDF files, I don't know of any apps off the top of my head that will do what you ask. You might try searching the Play Store.

Yeah I tried Polaris office...and I really want to do free hand scribble editing. PDF editing I am actually ok with Adobe as it lets me do what I want, but I really need something else for my office programs, because I am going to use this for school in lecture. I do have the keyboard as well, but I want to be as light as possible with just the tablet and stylus in hand.
I use ezPDF Reader Pro for PDF annotations for notes from my professors at school. I think it was $2.99 in the play store. It works great.
I havent found a good office app. Polaris Office, though it came on the prime free, is buggy and is limited on formatting. It works great for basic docs. You can only save in .doc format and docs i have created sometimes look way different when opened on a computer. But it does work.
I am still looking for the best app for an Office suite on android. Although SoftMaker Office mobile is coming along great. It is in beta still.
Find it at the following:
www.softmaker.net/down/TestMaker.apk for word
www.softmaker.net/down/PlanMaker.apk for excel
www.softmaker.net/down/Presentations.apk for powerpoint
Have you tried using the dedicated writing programs for use with the stylus already (just to see if you can even tolerate writing with the Prime)? Even with the apps to improve the TFP's response to stylus input they're still not something that's even remotely efficient to take notes with. If you just want to draw arrows or circle things or make quick (but relatively large) drawings, it's okay.
I generally annotated my pdfs using Repligo reader. I could do light annotations with the stylus and enter comments in stickies. You could easily convert powerpoints into pdfs and comment on them that way.
As far as I know there isn't any Office app that supports inking yet, which isn't that odd since most suites can't even do basic tasks like display charts properly in Excel and Powerpoint.
IMHO, Android is still pretty abysmal when it comes to doing this sort of thing.
The official adobe reader app lets you scribble annotate straight out of the box. I use it regularly
Office Pro 6
I don't know if it will solve your issues, but Office Pro 6 is on sale at the Amazon App store for $.99. It's normally $15.
http://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Systems-Inc-OfficeSuite-Professional/dp/B0051UP5NQ/ref=mas_6pack_productivity_Suite_link?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=054VF38RVZ32RE41XXGQ&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1371696742&pf_rd_i=2350149011
I think it's better than Polaris, especially on spreadsheets.
BTW first off let me thank all of you for your responses! I did know about adobe having its native edit and I had stated above I was fine with that . Although on the other hand, the power point is the BIGGEST one I have an issue with. Although punitenshu I like your idea the most which is just to convert it over to PDF...I just didn't want to do that every time I received a new lecture.....Thank you everyone you have been such a big help!
Repligo Reader hands down. If you really fussy about accuracy, use it in conjunction with touchscreen tuner.
