Anybody know why Picture folders have to be on the root of SD for the gallery app to find them....If I put them all in the DCIM folder it gives me errors for the files. Or it combines them all into one folder.

i have some pics that all photo apps can see but es file explorer doesn't see them.
astro see/ reports some files are on/in MNT not MNT/SDcard
seems there is conflicting location info across apps!
what to do?
How do I change permissions of files/folders on my external sd card, preferably with the ES File Explorer app? Is there a way to hide files/folders that are on the external card?
I can easily use it to change permissions of files/folders at the root level by accessing the "properties" option of said file, but I don't get this same functionality on stuff in my ext SD card... Am I missing something or is there some good reason why this is not possible (loaded question, I know)?
You don't set permissions in storage space...
To hide it, just put a . At the beginning of the name
For photos and videos you don't want showing in the gallery, put them all I'm the same folder, and then make a file named:
.nomedia
Then simply reboot.
I copied .zip files to my SDcard and and can see them with either Media Sync or as Drive. When I go into recovery I cannot find them. I checked in SDcard SDcard2 Ext-SD. I also copied over some .apk files and cannot locate them in Astro. I pasted them in the root go to the root in Astro nothing. Any suggestions?
I have a strange problem. I have rooted Alcatel Idol 3 with cm-12.1. I would like to save my photos into external sd. I have changed camera storage into external sd.
When I take a photo, it makes folder /storage/sd1/DCIM/Camera and saves photo there. So far, so good.. but when I after a while check the folder, everything inside DCIM is disappeared?!?
I can however save files into external sd. Yes, I can but they disappear, if they are in folder. I put some .mp3 files into root of my card and those didn't disappear. However, I can't listen them, because they misses.

I'm trying to delete some music files and folders on my SD card. I can use Solid Explorer to copy files over my LAN to my music folder. Once I copy, I can then delete those new files/folders off the SD.
The problem is with older files and folders. Solid Explorer and the built-in My Files app both fail to delete, with no information explaining why.
I'm guessing the problem is with any files and folders that were put on the SD over USB. 35GB would take too long over WIFI.
