Hi to all my friends in Optimus Community
in the last 2 weeks we faced great updates both from in official and custom ROM in our hands
but for me i just confused which one is better
for example i'm looking for more battery and choose official
another one prefer performance then choose Custom ROM
but for a normal user who want both performance and good battery life which one do you guys think is better ?

I use the custom ROM and not even bothered about flashing the official one. Custom ROMs give you lot of flexibility to fully utilize your phone's potential. And there is a community to support it. It just gets better and better.
I would prefer official ver..as its bug free nd with great battery backup..
I'm using the official one for the time being, will switch to the custom ones soon.
CM7 by mik works great for me with better battery life, more stability and even fast
vote for CM7 by mik.
hopefully he can released his custom rom base on official rom
Devoid forever and devoid froyo final. Both are great seriously

Obviously choose what's best:custom rom
If I got to choose, I'd pick something like void. or devoid.: very close to standard with all crud chopped off. With the addition of a very well developed kernel (FF?) that would be pure bliss.

Hi all! Now that P500 ROMs are much more than before,P500 users have a great selection. I opened this poll to see what's the most popular ROM in this P500 forum,so what are you waiting for? VOTE NOW!
I'm using devoid because I'm looking for something fast, light and very stable.
But other great ROMs which I've tried are: openOptimus, void, mik's CM7. I really liked openOptimus, but now I'm looking for simple stuff and CM7 was also pretty cool but I've decided using a froyo ROM until LG releases the sources for gingerbread.
Andy's ginger RC-2, now flashing RC-3...
well, when it comes to me.
I have been a changer
whether it was the time when i had symbian
or now when i am having my first android O1
Stock Rom > CM7 by Mik > Devoid > OpenOptimus > CM7 Again
Now waiting for the GB Sources to be released
btw where is the poll option ?
I keep switching between devoid and openOptimus.

Added poll option,it took a while, put all roms except discontinued ones (like KeruROM and void.).
andy572's CyanogenMod 7
I keep changing roms when new one comes but I always get back to Andy's Rom.
I'm using Mik's Cyanogen mod. If the sense rom actually turns to be good and stable I'll probably try that one out.
The rom is already stable,no random reboots,it's just fill of bugs.

Mik's cm 7 !

devoid.franko.v5 is my beloved ROM :-D especialy with latest kernel and all the tweaks. Fast, stable, light. Tried CM7, got some bugs in wireless headgear so I droped it, tho it's a nice rom. Also tried QUY, the new one. Feels like devoid got dresed in new fashionate clothes, but thats also nice.

+1 for Void!!
Even though it is discontinued, it still works very nicely.
@ciaox: you should consider putting void in poll. I am sure many still use this..

openOptimus build 1.172.1
Hello!!
i'm using openOptimus build 1.172.1. i have tried all custom ROM with but my search stop with openOptimus.
Because its giving extreme performance over mobile with good battery life.
Also customized animation in every window with new icon in setting menu.
in addition new power menu.
WWWWowww battery life is very good.
whenever you install this ROM wipe battery stat and cache partition.

I've been a fan of void / devoid since it was released. Can't wait for void on Gingerbread
Like this poll
Indeed nice idea this poll.
personally favorite rom after many tests is OpenOptimus 1.172.1. Just lovin it.
CM comes 2nd just because of battery life. A little bit thirsty for my tastes.
3rd devoid-final cause I had few issues with it (dunno maybe i'm stupid)
Gratz ciaox for a rom filled with lots of innovative stuff and still nice snappy performance and battery life

My ROM is still remaining in the third place, couldn't get better
I use mik cm7 despite battery drain. I can live with it. I'm not sure i'll change to official Gingerbread.
Just doing a poll here to help new GS2 users decide what rom they will choose as well as converting users like me to newer roms.
So have a vote, what rom do you use on your Galaxy S II and go on don't be lazy tell us why you like it so much and how its different from everything else out there.
Im on Darky Rom2, My friend has Darky's on his SGS I and so when i got my SGS II i thought I would take a peak, I find it stable and smooth, but lacking in features other roms have
Stock just working brilliant with good battery live and very very stable

Oh don't get me wrong I love it otherwise I would of swapped, but with some other roms you get theme chooser, Callrec and a few other intergrated things that aren't available in Darky's, doesnt make it a bad rom though.
CM7, because it's one of 2 ROM's that supports the PS3 controller. All the other ROM's will eventually nick parts of it anyway so I may as well get the features direct from the source.
Stock, rooted.
Debating something different, but want to be armed with more knowledge first. Most important criteria for me are: battery life, stability, ALL phone functionality retained, and lastly aesthetics, something about blue system colours sings to me.
I'm on cockrom v8.2. I like it because it's hardcore.
Thanks for the helpful thread btw, really original.
Sensation rom because its beautiful. However I do find stock is most stable.
I'm very happy with the performance and stability of the stock ROM, more than I ever imagined. TouchWiz 4.0 is actually very, very fast, IMO.
I've tried other launchers... even paid versions... and I still think that TW performs wonderfully fast and fluidly on the Galaxy S II. It seems that Samsung really did something right here. So, while I love the fact that the devs are always working on new stuff, I'll trade stability for the bleeding edge these days.
My 2 cents.
Cognition 1.5.1 - fast, stable and battery-friendly.
Miui for me at the moment, fantastic ROM. However with the BT not working I will probably be going back to stock until thats fixed. Really need BT to work.

I'm using cognition 1.5.1, I like this rom the most because its decent on battery life, stable, and stock looking, besides the added power menu (reboot, download, and recovery), and added drop down menu allows for data on/off.
I am using check rom v2....and the battery life and stability is excellent so far. The dev answers all questions, and after trying ALL the others available, i find this is my personal favourite.
The full screen contact pictures when making a call are great and checks ram script make this a wonderfully smooth rom.....i recommend to anyone.
Surprised to see that u dont have gingermod rom listed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1220283
Its the best of both worlds. Has the ASOP looks and u can add any stock feature that u want.
I am an asop rom person and with this rom there are no deficiencies.
Cognition here as well: close to stock with all the right mods to make it a smooth and battery friendly experience. I also enjoyed using Sensation very much.
Have been using Cognition since I got my sgs2 and it is wonderful rom. Like the above poster has said it is close to stock and better.
Which ROM out there has the best support and the least flaws? I know none will be perfect but I would like a ROM that is fast, stable, and has optimal battery life. I know i could use the V6 Supercharger to make a ROM faster but I would like to know what ROM you guys recommend? Thanks
For the 10 billionth time: It's really up to you to figure this out. Considering that there's only 4 custom ROMs available (for the 7510), I think you are capable of doing the research yourself.

I'm going to second the in paris v5, I just rooted and flashed and couldn't be happier. There is one clich that I found and that is on some web pages in browser it will not let you go back with the back arrows, small problem but so far the only one I see.
Task650 makes the best ROM.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using xda premium
check out the dev. forums, do a little research. If your asking you shouldn't be flashing roms really. All v6 supercharger does in most cases is mess things up
So avoid flashing supercharger? It doesn't take a computer genius to flash a ROM, I just don't have the time to flash every ROM and mess with it, thanks for the positive responses though.

I have yet to see any real proof that the supercharger script actually makes this thing better. I have flashed and run all of the different ROMs, and its really up to you as far as look and feel are concerned.
As far as support goes, I will say that Task and Phantom has been great in keeping us bug free, but I have not interacted with the other devs as much, and so I won't knock their Roms because I can't say what their level of support is.
Happy Flashing
Overcome is good too
I will say that I like both in Paris and Overcome. In Paris has a custom theme which I'm not fond of but you can install the touchwiz theme over it if you prefer. I like Overcome because it is the stock honeycomb theme.
It's really a rather personal choice so you do have to try more than one to decide.
Hey everyone, I am going to be trading some services (a mechanic is doing my breaks in exchange for me rooting and custom romming his lady's phone) and would like to know what your opinion is on the best thunderbolt ROMs available? She is currently on stock software and hates absolutely everything about her phone and how it behaves.
What would you guys recommend? I'm looking for functionality, reliability, battery life and the smallest amount of software bugs as possible.
Tweaked stock ROMs? AOSP? CM7 or 9? I know nothing about the thunderbolt community and would greatly appreciate any info you can give me.
Thank you everyone

Leaving it on a stock rom unless you plan on maintaining the rom for her..If she has no idea what shes doing then dont cause a headache for yourself, with techs its nothing to change out a rom, or if it gets buggy, well you get the point... the best thing would be a factory reset, or check the memory on the phone she prob has to many apps, install the apps from the sd card to free up the memory cuz im on a stock rom and its way fast, great battery, most of all the battery issues are from apps..just trying to save you a down the road..
I would go to the dev section of this forum and look at the ROMs and see what catches your eyes its opinion over opinion when saying stock is better than custom tons, I myself like custom roms because you can choose a wide variety of tweaks etc etc

LiquidRom 3.2 and use Rom Tool box built in to download pink theme, use built in theme chooser and apply theme, the get a pink keyboard skin and appy. Btw you can customize splash screen and bootanimation to her liking with Rom Tool box too. No bugs for me.

You want no problems use zues.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
Definitely a stock based ROM, like Zues. AOSP's battery life isn't as good as Sense (to no fault of the amazing devs of course).
I also suggest Imoyeson's leankernel 5.1.0GB in battsaver mode. Amazing performace with amazing battery life.
I also recommend Zues. ran it for a month straight no problems. only switched roms to see what else is out there
BAMF 1.11 with kernel+++ and turn off task manager at startup. Since I've installed the latest version of BAMF I've had zero fcs, great battery life and good speed. I'm a tech all day long with Windows PC and understand little about behind tor scene android functions. BAMF seems most reliable and low maintenance. Remember every phone responds different to the same os. It's just like gas every kia responds different to bp gas.

With absolutely no information to go on, I'm going to say try them all and see which works for you.
Edit: or stick to the one that came with your phone. It's stable as it gets and has good battery life.

Try Nottratrix ROM, it's a GB custom ROM with optimizations and tweaks.
This thread is completely unnecessary, there are many others just like this one. Plus, you asked a question here and opened ANOTHER thread asking the same question? That's against XDA rules.
Both threads reported. You should really cool down on opening new threads.
Thread closed. Best/most stable ROM threads have no place as they're completely subjective and based purely on opinion. What's best for someone else is not guaranteed to be best for you as your needs will likely be different. Try them for yourself as then you'll learn at the same time as finding the best for you.
Thanks
