There's also apps from marketplace I use. It doesn't hide the apps but it locks it and requires u to enter unlock code or pattern. The one i use is a paid app but i think there might be free ones

[Q] Launcher that allows locking to one screen

I have a 3 y/o grandson who loves playing games on my Atrix. Unfortunately he has discovered the camera and other things and has wandered into my contacts.
I use LauncherPro but have not been able to find a way to lock him to just one screen. Is there another launcher with this feature?
I like LauncherPro and don't want to use something else, but would if it didn't suck too much and had this feature.
There are several apps that alow you to password lock other apps, you can pick and choose which ones.
Thanks for the thought, but I was looking for a more general solution.

Just get data defender and lock all the apps you don't want people to get into with the fingerprint scanner?

Try AdFree from the market, maybe it removes it. Try Lookout as well, let it do a scan.
Report the theme in the market!

Its called AirPush. Download the app AirPush Detector and remove the offending app. AdFree & Lookout will not remove it.

[Q]app for system info

Hello!
I'm currently looking for an app that allows me to view system info, preferably as a widget, like temperatures, cpu usage, network in/out etc.
Anyone know of an app like this?

Thanks, but not what I'm looking for. I prefer a widget, cool tool was just rather annoying blocking the view of the top-bar

Search Google Play & try a bunch of free version of apps until you find one that has what you want. That's what the rest of us did/do.

A feature i actually miss from iphone software after jailbreak. (a simple gallery lock)
i had this app and lost a load of images, i wouldn't recommend using it unless you make a daily backup of your images!!
OK

Ok... now i found them. I found this solution from app description:
# Please unlocks Pictures/Media Files before deleting Gallery Lock. If you do not unlock them before uninstall Gallery Lock, you lost your Pictures/Media Files forever.
The way to recover: reinstall Gallery Lock > Setting > Recovering locked media
# If you see the message “No installed App” or don’t execute App in Home Launcher, that means you are using the feature ‘Hide App’ in Setting. It is possible to execute calling to dial #789.
Regards,
thanks

What app did you use? I remember i used app lock, it just locks the app, when you go to gallery it asks u for pass
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I'd just use Vaulty. It works very well and you can decide which images to lock/encrypt from the main gallery with a password.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.theronrogers.vaultyfree&hl=en
Use Smart App Protector..
Not only does it allow you to lock the Gallery. But also other apps according to your needs.
It even allows you to select either Pattern or Pin, and even gesture.
Here is the link:

Uninstalling System Apps after finding alternatives

As the title says, I've found some great alternatives to my Messaging and Phone apps and would like to know if I can uninstall those apps and only use my alternatives?

Depends on the app. Just freeze it first and see if it causes issues. If it doesn't then delete it to free up space

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
EDIT: Freezing the app disabled the actual call functionality from the entire phone, even from the user app PixelPhone Pro. Is there no way to disable just the stock phone interface without disabling it functionality?

You can disable certain components of apps using root. Like, if you don't want to see the default messaging app you can disable that activity. In your case, you can disable the dialer activity and it won't show up in your activity drawer, it also won't be launchable from other apps either, yet the rest of the app is still fully functional.
