I've had this issue for awhile and wasn't sure what to do.I know on the og EVO that the websites would shrink the size down to where you could read them.
Well on my 3d EVO I load up a page and it never shrinks the page to where you can read it..Well instead the page reloads its self repeatedly and shoots everything to the right kinda like a typewriter. Then after it reloads 100 times it leaves dots all the way to the left and the page disappears. There is nothing you can do to stop it unless you reload page for it to happen again. I'm not sure if its a phone issue or something else cause on my original EVO it never had this problem. Any ideas on what I should do? Sounds kinda confusing cause its something you have to see and its very frustrating..especially when you want to read something.

I have experienced this same problem! And man is it frustrating! Not sure what causes it, but for me its only on a few website, CNet certainly does it for me. Try messing with your browser settings, you can alter how it loads pages. Also, how it displays them.
Yeah very hard to explain to the people who don't have the problem.. but it happens 75% of the time on most sites. The settings don't do anything for me.

Well you could try just clearing the data on the stock browser. If your using it. If that fails to work for you may I ask what browser are you using and what do you have your settings at???
Locked & Loaded
"" Shooter on Deck""
Anything on this? I have the same issue. I notice it constantly refreshes the page, but I cant see one bit of difference. I can let it just sit there, not touch anything and it'll refresh at very least twice a min. And it only seems to do it on this website. I've pulled battery and restarted the phone. This is using the internet browser that came on the phone, havent tried Opera yet.
These are a few things that I have found while I've had the Jetstream. All are minute and I would still buy the Jetstream again even knowing about these small bugs because the jetstream is that functional to me.
Anyone want to check these out and confirm them?
Also, list other bugs you see and we can confirm then as well.
1. In gallery, touch and hold a pic, share to Picasa, at the window to determine which album to upload it to, it doesn't provide a list and therefore won't upload to Picasa via gallery. WORK AROUND: Download the app Photosync by Akira Soumi (Doesn't support bmp file uploads though, i believe) I use this app to sync my photos between my EVO, Picasa, and Jetstream.
2. Sometimes the music app will show a previously played song list when browsing into a new album song list. Ex: when browsing into arcade fire, the song list instead will be David bowie if he was played last. WORK AROUND: Do not select a song to play. Instead, long press on the ALBUM the song is in. Plays the album every time with no glitch.
3. When using google docs, no keyboard appears when attempting to type. Though, this is an android bug, not only on the Jetstream. My roommate has a Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and his does the same.
4. Like 3, this one is not native to only Jetstream, I assume. On some text fields on webpages such as Photobucket or Picasa, I am not able to touch and hold to bring up the copy/paste menu. I wish they would put copy into the menu list for the browser.
I cannot think of others at the moment. I will add to the list as I find things. Perhaps an update will fix these annoyances. Please share.
EDIT: Added work arounds for two of my glitches I've mentioned

Im sorry you are experiencing these issues. So far i have not experience any of them at all. the only thing i dont like about is is the lag. For been 1.5ghz dual it sure lags, specially the browser.also, the memory is always below 140mb free. Is this normal?
Thanks
I have the music app bug as well, so bad that I just downloaded the Music app from Google and was done with it. I miss the lock screen widget, but the HTC Music app was too painful to keep up with.
Another bug I've found is with using a Bluetooth keyboard. When the keyboard is left paired until the tablet sleeps, when turning the tablet back on and disconnecting the BT keyboard the onscreen keyboard continually pops up. This happens even on the home screen, and in the music app. Pressing the back key to remove the virtual keyboard does so, but it comes back in a matter of seconds.
I've had to turn off auto screen rotation because it was far too sensitive.
Still no option to sync picasa web albums in the Accounts & Sync section (such as was available on the Xoom)

Yep, seems to be the case here too.
1. Notes app, confuses itself with too many file revisions, notes vanish from view, but are still present in .data.
2. Browser not syncing bookmarks from chrome.
3. Quite disappointed by NAS and server connectivity and video playback options.

but my LTE connection fluctuates wayyy more then a normal connection. i can do 3 back-to-back speed tests and get 10mbps, 18mbps, 4mbps, 23mbps (highest i saw) all while my signal is going up and down. Im calling this a bug since i happen to work for AT&T and know that the tower im connected to is only a few blocks and i radio tested my phone next to my tablet and my phone wasn't switching nodes/towers whatsoever.
and considering where i live theres prolly 20 LTE users at peak using the node since LTE isnt available yet and isnt planed till 2012ish. i know its one of the like 10 test towers in the city
ps, also calling it a bug cuz i switched the sim
ps and i dont knoow how to get a tabletinto test mode to see if it is somehow bouncing nodes/towers
pen issue
i use the scribe pen alot and notices that if i'm not using the pen pallet for a few minutes while in the PDF viewer - it won't open again until i'll quit the app and open it again. and that too is not so consistent.
My sound cuts off. Seems to need a reboot to recover.

are you saying that since LTE isnt officialy lit till tov 9th in boston (where i live) its causing that issue? HTC said it was a fix they need to put out
i have also noticed video issues, mainly a lot of android vanilla stock video options are removed from the jetstream... thus apps like Plex do not work and it is annoying as hell. Also I wish there was a way to get root and enable the wifi hotspot ability. If i pay for data I want to use it as i want.
Occasionally when pressing the home button i get a box that says loading for 10-30 seconds before my home screen appears.
Sent from my HTC PG09410 using xda premium
It seems also that the external SD card loads quite slowly after a fresh boot. It takes a good 15-20 minutes to load all the mp3s into the music app from the sd card. It should not take so long.
bizarre split screen noise on top half
ok I found this thread and have the jetstream since Sept '11.
awkward thing I notice is that flash does not want to work via opera browser.
in generic sense browser the flash works but playing videos via full screen flash player the screen splits with noise, static overlaying the top half of the screen. Can any one else please confirm this?
lastly I enabled pin lockscreen and upon restart and attempting to unlock the screen upon startup in landscape mode the device will just do this boot loop. I noticed you can avoid the bootloop if you unlock in portraitmode.
settings app would just close out if I attempted to enter the power setting in the list. hard reset fixed that.
tablet completely froze out when fully charged trying to perform an encryption. Had to enter the recovery mode and factory reset.
Anyone else having the flash player split screen when watching a video?
No flash issues here in stock browser or Dolphin for tablets.

Ok, so I've have my photon for a few months now, and it seems like the touch screen acts up? I will touch one area, and it seems to activate a different area. Is this a normal thing, or is there something going on? Typing gets interesting, as you can likely imagine, due to wrong keys getting hit. Could it just be a sensitivity issue, if so, how can I correct it? Is there a way to calibrate the screen?
sent from my MoPho
Mine acts a little funny sometimes too - almost every time I am typing I either close the keyboard or exit an app entirely - my best guess is that it thinks I am either hitting the home button, or back. Drives me insane. Only thing I don't like about the phone.
I have looked at all the menus and cannot find a way to calibrate the screen. I've looked in the Market, cannot find an app that works on the Photon to do so either. I think mine can also use re-calibration.
Otherwise this phone rocks!
Is it just when you are typing or is it a general problem like if you try to select a specific app from the app drawer, will you end up selecting the wrong app? My Photon had this issue (just the problem with typing on the keyboard accurately, and this is not my first touchscreen only or android phone, so it's not my typing skills) when I first got it, but the problem went away after I installed Go Launcher and the Go keyboard. I haven't tried any alternate keyboards and I haven't tested the phone if I remove GO Launcher and the Go Keyboard. Everything else seems to be working and I love this phone!

Its random, typing, apps, doesn't matter.

I have searches and searched, but t appears there is bilt way to calibrate this screen. I don't know if the issue is hardware related, or just app related. The more I use it, the more I think hardware, because I wont even touch the screen and I end up at the home screen. There is no pattern, or anything, it just randomly messes up it seems

So I suppose no one has found a calibration tool for the Photon? I've seached everywhere I can think of and still no luck. I notice the problem also when playing games, especially Draw Something and Temple Run. Love my MoPho but this drives me nuts...
I bought the HTC One S and it is my first android device.
I am very confused how multitasking actually works and how to close apps. For example I am playing a game then I press the multitasking button to select the webbrowser. Well if I immediately switch back to the game again, it will resume where I left it. But if I wait a little bit longer and then switch back, it will automatically start the app from new. I lose all my progress. This happens so often and I am think this is not multitasking at all.
Also when I swipe to close an in multitasking mode, it just doesn't close the app. For example I am using navigation but then I don't need it anymore. I press the multitasking button, swipe up to close the up. And then I noticed it isn't closed at all but there is no app for it when I enter multitasking mode. I'd have to actually open the app and manually close the app from inside to actually make it quit.
Am I using android wrong or is this just it?
I believe that is the way how android works. When you switch between apps or press the home screen they will minimize and stay in the RAM memory. While in the RAM memory apps will use very litte recourse. This way you can switch between apps quickly because they don't close. Those apps don't need to start up again. If you've got some apps in RAM and you'll launch a app that needs more RAM then there is available, android will close some background apps to make room for a new app.
I hope this is clear to you?
I don't think that is the reason. I got 1gig of RAM and I barely have any apps open and yet it still starts from new after some time.
And why doesn't it close my apps when I swipe up to remove them from the list of multitasking. I am running sense 4.0, ICS 4.0.3
I don't have ics yet on my phone, though I have been reading a lot about its more effective multitasking. But one thing I know for sure: sometimes it depends on how the app you have suspended works, that is how it is written and how it is designed to behave once suspended.
It's not all related to android's multitasking. For example, I have experienced in android 2.3.7 that some games, once suspended, can be recalled even 1 hour later as if no time had last. I don't exactly know how it can work, but that's what I saw.

Yep, that's correct. That behaviour has to do with the life cycle of an Activity.
Well if this is how it works then I don't see how this can be called a pro for android. Then in my opinion ios has a much better multitasking system.
It instantly resumes where I left off and it instantly closes an app for good.
Not at all. In Ios apps (but for music and some other stuff I don't remember) once suspended aren't running any longer. Their current state is saved somehow, so that people have the illusion it is an actual multitasking, but it is not. That's not because Apple people are stupid (they're obviously as smart as at Google's) but it is a different approach which can't be compared to the one of android.
Among mobile system (but for maemo/meego and maybe webos) androids multitasking is the most similar to the one or your pc but I agree that it could be even better.
Yeah I am experiencing the same thing in my HTC EVO 3D. Here is my experiment.
An iPhone 4, and an HTC EVO 3D. I restarted both phones and opened Asphalt 7 on both. Opened the main menu screen on both phones and closed it with the home button on both iPhone and EVO. Now, opened Chrome on both phones and entered google.com. Searched blabity blabity bla and opened a new tab but didnt do anything. Then, went back to Asphalt 7 on both phones using iPhones multitasking bar (or whatever its called) and EVO 3D's recent apps list with long pressing the home button.
Result: Strangely iPhone wins as it continues where it left off, and sadly my lovely EVO 3D loses, opening the application from the begining.
Hell I tried to fail the iPhone but no, it always continues where I left off. I opened GTA3, opened Chrome, opened Asphalt 7, switched back and forth, everything continued from where I left off.
I searched this but it seems like its HTC's doing. People are having no issues with their non HTC phones about multitasking, but ONE X users are really complaining about this. Here, take a look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646409
http://www.androidauthority.com/htc-one-x-multitasking-problem-apps-killed-off-86498/
However, if Sense 4 users are having this issue, I really dont know why I'm having this issue with my EVO 3D as its Sense 3.6. Maybe this "aggresive memory management" is also there on Sense 3.6. I bought this phone when it came out a year ago and it was running Sense 3.0 and Android Gingerbread, I cant really be sure but I think it wasn't this aggresive back then.
Does anybody know if this issue can be overcomed by rooting the device? If so which ROMS have a feature like this?

I rooted the phone and downloaded ROM Toolbox from Google Play. Under Performance there is Auto Memory Manager. I never touched any of the settings, just set "Mild" from presets and checked Apply on Boot box. Now the "aggresive memory management" thing is gone and tried Asphalt 7, closed it, opened Chrome, checked mails, surfed about 10-15 minutes, closed chrome, text a friend, then returned to Asphalt long pressing the home button and the game starts from where I left off.
TL,DR: Rooting is a great thing if you are unsatisfied with your device and it fixes the multitasking issue with HTC.

The number (and size) of apps has nothing to do with RAM usage. I could write you a 1KB app that would use every byte of available RAM. It would be pointless, but I could do it
Games in particular will use more RAM than other apps, so will get shut down more often than other apps when not in use.
Fyi I had already fixed multitasking weeks ago and have just managed to fix it on sense 4.0 and 4.1.

So this is a weird one, I haven't seen this mentioned before. At random times, while my phone is locked and in my holster, apps open on their own. I will pick up the phone, turn the screen on, unlock it and the Internet will be opened to my home page (Google). I know it wasn't like that before I turned the screen off. It's been like that on any rom I run. Right now I'm on the rooted stock rom. Any one else seen this?
I get the same thing once in awhile. Usually the last Google search I did.
At one point it would have xda open in browser, which I don't use.

Good idea. Thanks.

I'll try that too, now that I think about it, it is just the internet app.
Must've been just the stock browser. I've been running maxthon browser and it hasn't auto-opened.
Happens to my wife all the time, she would come to me complaining and getting frustrated, turned out when she went to turn off the screen her palm would open what she had on the bottom right side of the screen lol. Now I've got an interesting one. I flashed stock w/ goodies 2.14 today, on a reboot the dialer is automatically opened. Just to test, I flashed back to stock and have the same issue. The only new thing I did was use superwipe prior to each flash and I've never used it before. I've seen this mentioned before in another thread but I couldn't find it again. Anyone else have this happen? It doesn't affect functionality, but kind of annoying.
