Hello all,
I would like to (automatically) sync particular folders on my Desire's SD card with folders on Flyer's SD card (music,videos,e-books...).
Using WiFi, of course. My upload speed to Internet is really slow, so I would like to avoid any cloud solutions like Dropbox. From device to device, 2 way sync. Any app recommendation?
Thanks in advance!

There is an app called PCFileSync that does exactly this, though you will need to have a folder somewhere on the network, that will sync your devices. Or perhaps have on of the devices running a supported file server

Managed to make it works using PCFilesync on Desire and FTP server app on Flyer.
Pcfilesync is a little bit buggy... Need better solution than that...

Hello everyone. I wanted to know if anyone knows of any apps or PC desktop programs that will allow me to automatically back up my photos (and other folders if possible) to my desktop. Im really looking for something that will only back up new photos and not all photos. It would be nice if the app or program could do it wireless, but Im willing to connect my USB cable to my PC once a week or so just to back up photos.
If anyone has a recommendation that would be great.
Thanks.
The perfect solution that i use is an app called dropsync... Works perfectly and syncs the folders i selected with Dropbox which is synced with my pc.

Great. Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

You could get a Google+ acct and use the instant upload. It auto uploads new photos on the fly.

SEE POST 4 FOR MY SMALL RESERARCH AND PROBLEMS SOLVED.
I've been trying to find out where this is located on this phone. When I used sense 4 Rom on my rezound it was right there in the accounts and sync. I know it was supposed to be included with sense 4 and all the reviews I see show it on there. Did we get hosed or am I missing something?

I have never seen these included in a stock rom. They are both downloadable from the market though.
While it's not in my list of apps, if you go to the list of apps under Settings -> Apps, there is a listing for 'Dropbox for HTC Sense' and 'HtcDropbox_GLRPlugin'. Can't figure out how to access it. More than likely, it adds on to the Dropbox experience when you download the Dropbox app. I haven't tried it since I don't use Dropbox or any other cloud service.
I haven't downloaded dropbox yet so I will try that.

That is HTC's sense page. I guess only the One X got it....of course. The rezound ICS I believe was part One X so maybe that explains it. Seems a few of the reviews I've seen for this phone showed it as an option, but maybe they just assumed since it was shown as a part of sense. That was an exciting aspect for me because I use it a lot, but it isn't crucial.
As far as using a 3rd party app. I have some photos on there that I would rather not risk a sneaky developer getting his hands on ;c)
EDIT: At the very bottom it says check with provider so see if they offer skydrive on your device. I'm sure that Verizon had their grubby hands in it.
2ND EDIT: Okay, I downloaded dropbox and now it syncs in my albums and shows under accounts and sync. Now if I could only get skydrive working.
FINAL EDIT: I've had no luck on the skydrive integration. It was very nice to have but it also seems that it was removed from the at&t version One X. On a better note I have descovered that ES File Explorer syncs very nice with skydrive and other cloud services.

Thanks for the tip on ES with Skydrive! Been using that ridiculous browser MS recommends. This is soooo much better!

I tried the browser app once before but hated it. I stumbled across the ES thing in another forum.

I was browsing the Windows 8 app store and came across an app that will be able to access numerous cloud storage accounts from the one app. So far they have skydrive and Dropbox, and when I contacted them they said that they would also have Box access soon. You will also be able to access multiple accounts of the same type ie Ie have 3 skydrive accounts.
So my question really is, is there an app in android that can so this?

Maybe you should try this ----> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.tacit.android.foldersync.full&hl=en
They have a lite version too, if you want to try it first.
The description says they support multiple skydrive/box/dropbox etc acoounts.

EStrong (ES) File Explorer will do that. It's integrated with their file manager which is free on the Play Store.
Just swipe to the panel left of the main screen and you can setup dropbox, box, skydrive, google drive and several other cloud storage accounts and access them as remote file servers.

Sweet thanks. I actually have ES installed already. Will give it a look.

Solid Explorer is another alternative. Looks good with the dark theme

+1 for FolderSync. Can even setup to sync One-way either way, or both ways any combo, at any times, even upon change.
Also for a regular file explorer w/root HIGHLY recommend
X-Plore - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore
I use to have multiple file explorers until I found this.

Hey guys,
Can anyone recommend a good app to sync my photo's to specific folders on my iMac? Right now I am using Dropbox and I am manually dragging the photos into the folders. I also use Picasa so I can view the folders that are on my Mac on my phone but I need to have a good data connection and they load slowly.
Ideally I would love to be able to organize the photo's on my phone......for example move a photo from "Camera Shots" to a folder I created...then manually sync over WiFi when I get home at the end of the day and have the folders on my phone and Mac be identical once and for all.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance
AirSync by double twist? Anyone have experience with this?
Air sync is awesome! I haven't used it for pics but for music is works great. Definitely worth the buy

Thanks! That good to know because I just started using iSyncr to sync with my iTunes. This would kill two birds with one stone.
Do you know if I can choose to have it sync photo's to specific folders that already exist on my Mac?

Not sure about specific folders. Drop sync pro is another option for specific folders. Not sure if they got a Mac client tho, if they do that's what you need

I just came here from my gs4 today but I'm having issues trying to restore my sms from the app sms back up. It gave me my call log but with no contacts attached the the calls but it didn't give me a single text message. I've tried it 3 times...it just tells me "13000 duplicates". I just googled it and I guess the back up is placed on my sdcard on my other phone. I just dropped it in and I'm currently waiting to see if this restore will work. Has anyone else done this yet?

Same result after the latest restore. Never had an issue before. Any ideas?

if there is still a problem, go to your local AT&T store... if they have a celibrate machine.. .which 90% of them do, they can transfer sms from one phone to another no problem
I found an option within the phones settings that transfers data from your previous phone to the HTC one. You need to install HTC transfer from the playstore on the old device. Music, photos and bookmarks transfered fine but the texts still didnt. Oh well...at least I got the important stuff. Nice feature BTW

I would think each device has a certain file [email protected] back up files for sms and they are different between the two your trying transfer from...thats prolly the issue....as suggested the store usually can transfer them without an issue
if you are rooted, Try app ops on the play store (by Lars something). Enable it and go to its menu and find your backup app. Then enable write permission
