[Q] Use Java in a Web Browser - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can we use Java on this phone in a web browser? Either stock, opera or any other.
In Norway we are dependant on Java to log on to our net bank solutions.

its not supporting java but like most smartphones you need a third party app and then you can run java on your phone.fast and smooth.

Thats really disapointing as I'm a Java developer. I know Android is based on the Java programming language, but its not really Java.

You have to install emulator for MIDP. Check http://www.netmite.com/android/
Download this and install it.
Because the Dalvik virtual machine is based on the JVM, any JAR should be able to be recompiled into an APK.
PS: Sorry for the fake guide I posted before.
Hmm... i already tried this but it gives me error in many cases...

Then download the eclipse IDE for Java ME, install the Android plug-in and install the DJ decompiler. Then port the decompiled application to fit Android SDK 8 (Froyo).
I think you will prefer not running the jar applications .
O_O... I'm afraid I don't know anything about compiling... Not even basic developer knowledge...

AFAIK that only works on Android 1.6. Try Java J2ME Runner instead.

Jbed can also be run on Froyo. (I'm using it. There's a version for Android 2.2)
BTW, I also tried Java J2ME Runner, but errors always occurred when I tried to use .jar files...
