Rain X - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

I finally got around to trying the Rain X on my screen ( i have no screen protector)
Let me tell you it is working great.
Took off my Pdair case ( which i love) I thoroughly cleaned the screen, than applied a coat of Rain X - original version $3 at Walmart., waited for it to dry 1 min, buffed it out, and repeated this step 2 more times ( 3 times total) now my screen crystal clear and smooth as butter. my fingers and most importantly a stylus slide effortlessly and no finger prints for 3 days. anything that does make its way on the screen- minor print etc. buffs off quickly with no effort.
Not sure if the extra 2 coats of rainx was over kill but for me this is working great.

Please let us know how it performs over the coming weeks.

Sub to see result in a few weeks. That Pdair case that you have is pricey. 119.00 on their website.......

see previous post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121184&highlight=rainx

so what's your point.

Thanks!...will give it a try....fingerprints driving me crazy too!

Want to know what works VERY good too? Carnauba wax....
There is a screen application called Nu Screen and it has mostly Carnauba wax in it. I just applied some to my screen (Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax), THIN layer, avoided the edges so I don't get any in the edges, buffed out..... smooooooooth.
I already bought a skinomi, but this feels excellent. I needed a replacement skinomi because my packaging was crushed when I got it, but I think with a screen protector and some carnauba I will be golden.

Don't know if I can use any of these. Just wanna make sure so that I don't f'up my screen.

Really any of it should be good buddy. Just don't spray the edges, don't go crazy. Same with if you use wax. A very thin coat is all you need. Put a dab in the middle and work it out from the center.

It really works. I put a coat on my Gtab & SGS2 and the fingerprint marks are aren't showing up.

Just apply rain x and its looking pretty good no fingerprint yet..... Very smooth. Thanks

I am going on 5 days now with no prints, except for a few minor ones which wiped rt off with a light wipe.
I did however apply 3 coats at one time.
But either way after using this it is a different feel for the screen. very silky smooth.

I would like to add that if you use wax, pure carnauba is best because it is 100% non abrasive. If you use a cleaner wax, just make sure it contains only chemical based cleaners. And dont scrub, you really need next to no effort.

UPDATE:
I finally received my invisibleSHIELD the other day. Past by my local kiosk that does the professional install. After 1 hour give or take I went back to the store. Right away the store attendant told me it looked sharp and I had to agree with him. To my surprise it looked better than I thought. I purchased the full body protection and it pretty much wrap the entire body. The kit fits almost perfectly on every curve and holes. The mocha color has a glaze look to it like a coat of glaze you would apply on wood. He told me I shouldn't put it in my pocket or place it in any case for at least 24-48 hours, letting the process take place and reduce the lint and dust. During the first 24 hours, it did felt the rubbery feel to it. It felt awkward at first. However after my first 24 hours, that rubbery feel disappeared / less noticeable. Not sure if I got use to it or it takes a while for the product to settle. Now waiting for ProClip to release its device holder for the T-Mobile version.
Comparison: Screen Protector that came with my HTC Rhodium vs. invisibleSHIELD - no comparison. After couple of days with the stock, there were visible signs of scratches from my nail and stylus. invisibleSHIELD - none. The only thing that the stock has over the invisibleSHIELD is that it was more flush and didn't have any major gap. I can't complain.
Overall: I'm happy with it and I don't have to worry about it getting scratched or dent with the full body kit.
I would strongly advise not getting an invisibleshield. My friend bought one and its not really touch screen friendly. Its very squishy (for lack of a better description) and when using the stylus and or finger on the screen you finger/ stylus gets stuck, almost sticky like. The screen does not react to many of the screen taps or slides.
My friend hated it so much he had to replace it with a generic screen protector (but he kept the rest of the body on.)
Try the Bodyguardz, they're somewhat similar but they are much more responsive and easier to deal with, and you get 2 sets with each one-
http://www.bodyguardz.com/content/accessories/57---2007.htm
I'm waiting for bestskinsever.com to get it. I've been using them ever since I had my Blackberry Curve 8320 and I think they are the best. Works great and without any problems with touch screen devices, I have it on my iPod Touch.
As of right now I'm using the piece of crap one that came with the phone. Got a few scratches on it already, I mean as long as it keeps my screen safe then I don't care.
same here and i hate the one that came with it.
I tried an InvisibleShield on my TP2 last week. It went on easy enough with just a few bubbles that slowly dissipated over a few days, but it is definitely not touch screen friendly - using your stylus with it feels like dragging the stylus through treacle.
Luckily it came off easily enough too....

Try the Bodyguardz, they aren't as "grabby" as the InvisiShields-

They also give you two sets with each box, nice if you mess up (like I seem to always do lol).
Anybody tried the Bodyguardz protector? I'm loathe to spend more money on something that looks practically the same...

I'm waiting for bestskinsever as well. I just noticed last night that i have minor scuffs that you can't really see on my screen unless you look under a light. I tried to install the original screen protector & it just didn't want to go on.
Oh well.
Bodyguardz...... I have the screen protector and its great!!! "the one that came with it"? I looked at that for a second (us tmo) and it only looked like an template to me...lol
Did you guys buy the full protector or just the screen protector from bodyguardz? How's the full version? Does it fit well?
Hello, I found one that works well. It is from www.clearprotector.com I bought the entire phone protector and am very impressed. I did have to use a heat gun to shrink the edges a little on the battery cover, but that was because I did not align it very well As for the screen, it did feel a little on the sticky side for the first week, but as of now I cant hardly notice it and I personally dont feel that it had made the screen any less responsive. Overall a good investment vs. a beat up phone.

I have also tried the invisable shield. It is a great product...but not for touch screen devices. You have to oil the screen to get your fingers to slide, LOL. I took it all off except for the back cover protection and went back to the factory screen protector till one comes out that "FITS" and works with touch screens

He is saying the surface of the protector is much more "grabby" then the oem protector or protector's like Boxwave and Martin Fields. It is much harder to slide your finger with these types (body guardz, zagg, etc...)
I got news for you, Bestskinsever uses the same material as the zagg stuff.. I ordered a universal cut your own kit. Its just as sticky as Zagg (which I have also owned before)..
So sounds like body guardz is also the same material, yes?

[The Bodyguardz] Tips & Techniqus !!! Pls. feel free to share your experience here: )
Hi guys,
I presented you a little tips & techniques on how to install the Bodyguardz. : )
Any body here using the Bodyguardz? Mostly I saw you guys talking bout the
Invisible shield. I know some of you are using the Bodyguardz right?
I got it a couple of days ago and installed it, now it's all dry up and
ready to use! I'll show you guys some pics of the result.
Overall, the installation processes took me about 5 hrs (a bit slow right?
I just did it step by step slow and clam LoL~) I want to share you guys
some tips here. (If you guys considering to apply the Bodyguardz I suggest
you to carefully read the whole manual inside the box first. )
The following tips is not included in the manual. I hope you guys find
it useful in some ways. : )
- I did this in my kitchen just beside the stove's top (weird right? Some
people did this in a bathroom) and then I boiled the water with a large size pan
on a high temperature. The reason of all these is to generate a steam!
In order to limited the movement of all the dusts! so that when we're installing
the Bodyguardz the steam can help reduced the chance of any dusts appeared
under the Bodyguardz and the screen. (BUT shame on me, finally I got
1-2 very tiny eyebrows on the screen... Anyway, luckily that it's not on
the center of the screen! LoL~) One more thing, I also took the battery
out before I applied the Bodyguardz.
- After I applied the front part, I left it dry for about an hour. Then the back
part with a little use of palm technique on each of the corners. (I guess you
guys already know the palm technique right?) The back part is a bit
tricky though.
Now, the rear part. Overall the T-mobile TP2 has 9 pieces
of the rear part. Those rear pieces that stick to the upper part of the phone
(the screen half) is pretty easy. But those rear pieces that stick to the
lower part of the phone (the key board half) required huge!
amount of patience because of those little slope that lean toward the back cover.
(so be cool guys )
So now you got all pieces of the Bodyguardz on your phone right?
Then I left lied down for 30 mins, then I used the palm technique
for the next 45 mins. (all over)
Then here comes the trick! I suggest you guys to use the 'Cling Wrap'
(like the one wrapping your sandwiches LoL~) to wrap the whole phone.
Tightly wrap the phone by focused on those corners and edges.
Moreover, I used the clear sticky tape to taped those corners and edges
again to forced those corners, edges and rear pieces down. (use the tape on the Cling Wrap not on the Bodyguardz)
All these is to keep those corners and edges stick to the phone.
Then I left it over night. Now your phone will look like a Mummy!!!
By the end of the next day I cut big hole on the front plastic wrap
to let it breath a bit.
By the next morning I took the whole wrap things out.
And everything is perfect! From now on, no scratches on my phone!
Finally, I can stop worry about the scratches issue.
Feel free to use the above techniques. (BUT IF ANY DAMAGE OCCURRED
TO YOUR PHONE, I'LL NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY.)
If you guys already know about those tricks I must apologize for
posting something that you guys already know.
If any of you have any further tips and techniques then you are more than
welcome to share them here.
Cheers!
Looks good, I have a set coming in for my TP2 and Zune HD. Your tips should come in handy. Thanks
I have it on my phone now. i wouldn't have any other screen cover on my phone. its not the easiest to install but its worth the stress. let me tell you a blower dryer makes it 10 times easier.
thing that piss me off was i got to pieces of lint stuck under the protector and i didnt notice it until it was completely dry.
i would reccomend this 100 percent. the customer service is also excellent. i had a bodyguardz on my g1 and couldnt be more happy. you also get life time replacements.

I'm totally agree with you about their customer service.
They're very nice.
be sure to check there twitter page before you order they have promo codes posted there sometimes. im bout to use my second set already corners came lose already for me.
Looks great on your Tmobile, but if you have a VERIZON TP2, you DO NOT want a Bodyguardz. The one they sent me has a front facing camera cutout for the screen protector. It's going back on Monday.
I'm going to order the Ghost Armor protector, which was specifically made for Verizon.
I Just put this one last night on my TMO Tp2 - its by far better then the zagg/bestskings , No finger drag.. Also the wrap method is a great idea, helps get rid of moisture and made the install near perfect (not completly because I just wasn't steady enough to get it perfectly aligned) but good enought.

Hey there!
The palm technique is how you pressed those edges and corners (or any other
parts) against your palm firmly about like 1 min I supposed... or longer if you
if you want, let the heat from your palm send through to the Bodyguardz
in order to forced those edges and corners down.
Cheers

@ what150. Great job on the protector install. One of the better installs I have seen. But 5 hours? Man, I don't have the patience for that. I used the method of what another guy had mentioned in here, the hair dryer helped me speed things up a lot more. But I still took my time when applying the protector to the device. A hurry up rush job will get you an ugly install. I learned that from a G1 install about a year ago.
Once again, props to you for a clean install.

็ำัLoL~ Thanks man, but I didn't spend 5 hours in front of the phone
Though, I spent a lot of time using my palm pressed against those edges and curves. (While, I watched the movie...)
I'm not sure about the hair dryer cuz I heard that it's not the best way to do it.
(I'm not sure whether I read those from the Bodyguardz website, or from its Youtube videos.) But, I may be wrong! may be it's better to speed things up a bit
Cheers
@ greatbrit
Nice find! 20% off is a good bargain.
Actually, Bodyguardz reccommends a blowdryer on the cool or low setting in 5 second intervals to speed up the process. I did just that and it turned out great.

Screen Sensitivity?
Is there any noticeable loss of screen touch sensitivity-- do you have to press harder, etc., with the Bodyguardz protector?
I just received a set of these -- screen only -- but haven't yet installed it... Now that Boxwave will soon (Oct 9) have a screen protector available for the TMo TP2, Bodyguardz aren't my only option that fits, so I was just wondering...

Hello all. I have been waiting for SGP to make the crystal screen protector for the prime. While browsing for accessories I came across this promising prospect. This screen protector is not made by SGP but it way be worth your consideration. This brand is advertised as Armor Suit. I am going to order mines now and will provide and update on its use.

Update 2-11-2012
I received mine yesterday at work. As soon as I got home I opened the package and applied the new screen protector. The instructions recommend keeping the tablet off for about 24 hours after application before use. I did miss one part of the instructions which says to wet both sides of the screen protector. Make sure you do this because it will help you remove the liquid and bubble better with the rubber card. It has been over 12 hours since the application and it is curing nicely. I still have about 10 tiny wet bubbles that I am hoping will dry out before I say that it is perfect. One thing I did notice when I removed by prime from its folio case is that I had a tiny scratch a quarter of an inch up above the Asus logo. I was very upset about that because I handle my tablet like a baby, unless somehow the scratch was caused my the inside material of the case. Anyways, the good thing about this screen protector is that now you can no longer see the scratch. If this continues to cure like I hope it does, I will order another one for my girlfriends prime. Did I mention that wifi and GPS performance also improved after the application ??? Lol jk. The screen did lose a little of its smooth glide when swiping with your finger but that should improve over time. Touch response has been the same otherwise. I will provide an update in a couple of days once it has cured some more. If any of you reading this have purchased and installed the product, please provided your experience. I would like to know if the quality is consistent.
***Important***
Just an FYI to those who use the keyboard dock and are considering installing this screen applicator, removing the prime in and out of the keyboard dock is extremely tight and is marking up the screen protector film where the dock and screen meet. I am going to contact the manufacturer about this to see if they are aware of this issue...

looking forward to your update! only problem i have with their listing on amazon is that i says its non sticky, but also says its self healing... i sell screen protectors in a sprint store. from my experience, the self healing ones tend to be the orange peels and rubbery (sticky) kind. but if im wrong, please let me know! interested in this!

Will do, I received my order confirmation last night. Standard shipping so maybe sometime next week I will have it.
Lifetime warranty means you'll ruin 5 of them just trying to install them! This is why right now I'm not wearing a condom on my Prime. If I can't get the perfect screen protector on there perfectly then I just won't do it at all. I'm fairly careful with the front and I may eat my words one day.
Mine should be here today thanks to prime shipping I will give my feedback on this protector later this afternoon
Ok abit of an update, just installed the protector first impressions are this
Install was the best ive done in about 10 protector installs over the years, protector comes off the backing with very little pull, enough solution that i was able to wet my fingers twice and soak the adhisive side and front side well enough that it only took one attemt to postion the protector to the screen and boom it was done after a little squgiing with the rubbery card they give you, i had 3 tiny bubbles that came out easily then 2 slightly smaller bubbles along the top rim that im just gonna have to wait out till tomorrow
So so far im enjoying it, havnt noticed any imperfections, cut outs were extremely accurate now to just wait
Edit: The feels exactly like the screen if not a bit smoother at the moment not sure if this will remain but its pretty slick at the moment

Sending a thanks your way for your update. Later this afternoon I still had a couple of bubbles that I was to impatient on waiting to see if they would dry out and disappear so I decided to apply some of the solution on top of the surface and opted to use a credit card to push out the remaining bubbles (I did not like using the included rubber applicator much.) One Important item that I did not realize until now is that getting the tablet to dock with this screen protector is really, really tight. This may be a deal breaker for some. I don't use the keyboard dock all the time but it looks like the constant swap will make the screen protector look a little beat up at the bottom...

That's understandable. This is my first time using a wet screen protector. I wasn't concerned about damaging the prime because I have the accidental protection plan.
Do you have to pay for the replacements? I know most of these "lifetime replacement" types you have to pay $5-$10 just to get them to mail you a new one.
Bogus.

aww thanks dood! i totally forgot about the protection plan! did you go through squaretrade?
back on topic: went with an Acase matte anti glare, dry install. took literally over an hour to get it perfect, but i did it. wish it woulda been easier, but im just too shy of the wet installs...
I'm looking for a top quailty anti-glare screen protector. I mainly want the anti-fingerprint part of it, but I like the matte screen look too. I had a Acase one on there, but the anti-fingerprint wasn't that great. I really wish Realook would come out with one for the Prime, b/c their's are awesome (have it on my phone). Realook (http://www.realook.us/dales_html/) has almost a textured feel to it, which is beyond awesome for keeping finger prints off. I have a email into them now to see if they plan on making one for the Prime.
I'm also thinking about NuSheild too:

I don't think you need to pay for a replacement. I should have an answer to that question in the next couple of days if they respond to an email I sent to them early today...

I can tell you the armor suit does very well reducing finger prints. Your fingers glide smoothly across the screen. Now this is something I am going to try my best to describe, when typing ( I use thumb keyboard) you sort of get what feels like a slight rubber bounce with each press, I actually like that. Obviously its going to feel different then just typing on the glass but for me it works.

tempered glass screen protectors

Tempered glass screen protectors. Anyone using them? I have put one on my iphone 5s and was really impressed. Found a no name brand and it worked well for $6. I can't pay alot for them. Goes against that sale instinct in me!
So it made me look for one for the mega. I had a cheap glare free plastic one on temporarily which was fine, but I wanted a glass one. Hard to find. Here's what I bought. $12.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111253895644?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Put it on last nite. I used the hinged method, with an extra piece of tape on the free side for precise placement. It went on beautifully, but I thought I was sloppy cause I saw a fingerprint after application, and I was really mad at myself. But I was so meticulous, I couldn't believe it.
The more I worked with it, I saw it wasn't a fingerprint, but a portion of adhesion that didn't stick the size of a fingerprint. I worked it more, maybe the warmth of my fingers finally got it to adhere. So I was not sloppy afterall. If you have this problem, just give it a little time. I almost was tempted to lift it and clean, resisted the thought, and I was rewarded for my patience. It's a perfect application 8 hours later.
I'm a perfectionist.... Couldn't do it lol selling my mega anyways

I can never fit a screen protector without getting a bit of dust underneath it, I'd hate to do that with a glass one.

I have applied 2. the iphone was perfect, the mega ended up with 1 tiny speck of dust on the top- off the screen, in the black perimeter. It only bothers me cause I know it's there. lol. If you use the hinged method, with that extra piece on the free end, and use a tape roll on the screen (tape rolled around your finger with the sticky side out) after you clean it, and right before you peel stage 1 on the protector do it again, you should be good. There are some pretty inexpensive glass ones now available. No way would I try it with a $30 one. I paid $12 for the mega one and that was big $$ for me!! lol
I also hear if you put your screen saver on after someone showers in the steamy bathroom it cuts down on all the dust! (tip from G) I never resorted to this, wanting to be comfortable at a table that has been cleaned well.
you need to use the hinge method, with some tape on the side of the sceen protector/phone before you peel of the bottom part, but theres another trick i learned which i practice and lets me put a screen protector 100% perfect...
you do all this in the bathroom, before you do tho, you turn on the shower with hot water, and let the room get steamy.. picks up all the flying arrownd dust, and your screen protector will be 100% perfect.
try it on, thank me later.
I have one of the screen protectors, i can say they are awesome, they make your screen feel so buttery smooth, I bought the Glass.m one and i havent got any finger print mark or oil, or even dust applying it.

Absolutely!!! If you mess up the application, you chalk it up to experience. Although if you are careful, check out videos on youtube, and follow the tips here, you should be good for a terrific application! Just be mindful of dust. That's your worst enemy and will create bubbles. So dust proof all you can. I work on my kitchen table that has been dusted and windexed. dust off all my tools and use tape rolls. roll the tape around your finger and pretend you are removing dog hair. But it is invisible dust. Then go for it! I never tried the shower trick. I hear it really helps. but again, make sure the surface you are working on is really clean. Good luck!
I found mine on ebay. Amazon has them, but charges shipping.

Tepshine / PThink Glass Protector - Good!
Got this one for my i527 a few days ago:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ICZ4GE6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Went on very easily once I removed the hard shell case I had on the phone. Comes with moistened cleaning cloth and microfiber cleaning cloth and I didn't need to mess with hinging or scotch tape or anything else. Used both cloths to clean the screen and quickly applied the screen protector and NO TRAPPED DUST.
It's only been a few days, but no bubbles, no slipping, and everything seems to work with no lag. Even hovering still works.
-Z
just got mine from overseas for a whooping penny. Only problem is the button is sunk down a little bit. guess ill get use to it. putting it on is easy. you can lay it on and slip it around before you push on the middle to get it to set. mine came out perfect
Just be careful on where you get it, I got my first one and the glass got messed up from the cleaning I did and when I tried to get the lint hair out of the adhesive part of the screen it broke. Now on to my second glass (privacy shade) and the only defect is that it is a little too thick for touch response but it serves it's purpose (touch still responsive at times)

i have it on my Mega ( i9205 ) and i must say it saves the life of the screen. dropped it several times and only thing that breaks is the temperred glas so i ordered several times on ebay and apply goes easy, just clean the screen and see if the bottom and the top fits then drop it on the screen
it will apply by it self in a minute
then just gently push it till all ends are applied.
and to be sure use a hair dryer over it.
got my 3rd tempered glass now since 26-05-2014 and still no scratches/burst of something weird its just perfect.

Screen Protectors

Anyone recommend a screen protector which actually has the pin hole at top and cover full screen.
As the ones about i see, don't even cover all the screen, leaving gaps at both top and bottom
Well, I found one absolutely perfect on amazon after reading numerous reviews on numerous screen protectors.
You get 3 in a pack, comes with usual wipes and also some glue for the edges, which really is not required at all.
Not a bubble anywhere, simply wiped with wet wipe and then dry, lined up camera dead centre and gently placed it,the screen did the rest and see the air bubble disappear, few more light presses to make sure and its bang on.
I am ocd and can say this tempered glass screen protector is absolutely spot on, covers all screen and hole for camera.
I also for first time ever did fingerprint on lock screen, didn't back up neither as i ain't letting samsung have my private info.
Took approx a minute to setup so you get full print, and on every single test approx 30 test now, it unlocked straightaway, soon as i touched screen.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B083P4D4HH/ref=cfb_at_prodpg
UPDATE:- the glue or liquid that comes with it, i decided to use also, as it got the better of me haha.
The edges there are a slight gap and I mean tiny, so have this liquid a go.
I poured it into a cap and used the little brush that comes in kit.
I did bottom first to test, brushed it on edge and it filled that gap.
Wipe with wet wipe and dry and pressed on glass to make sure it made contact and filled which it did.
I proceeded to do this on other 3 sides.
Dont worry about any going on the glass itself.
Simply use small sponge and soapy water to wipe of and then dry.
The glass can not be seen at all now, I forget I have one on, it is that good.

well on amazon it is CAD$500 tax included, pixel 4a is CAD$541 after tax, aside from the better camera processing on pixel which i personally dont care much, i dont see a reason why should i go for pixel instead of this amazing mid tier phone!
I really dig the large screen on here
Still love my A71
Really surprised that this phone is not more popular! The camera is good for being a mid-range phone and price is definitely fair.
Anyways I am using https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0852YB79R?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It's extremely clear, doesn't attract fingerprints, and comes with a fitment frame to make it really easy to get it applied perfectly.
Fingerprint sensor works perfectly as well.
