I have diamond tweak and wake on sms is disabled (by default even)... and even the registry key is set to disable wake on sms, but the phone still wakes up and shows the screen when i get a text...
I'm guessing it has to do with the sprint stuff on the phone but i don't see what would have changed it... (it has done this since i got the phone so it hasn't CHANGED... i just mean something that would have made it not work as intended)... maybe it's checking a different key?...
Does anyone know a way to make sure the screen doesn't come up when i get a text?... I just want it to ring / vibrate... even the little circle button light is fine... but not the screen
You don't want the device to wake (i.e. turn on the screen/backlight) or you don't want the device to show the text message itself?
If you've used the registry editor to disable wake on sms, I'm guessing you're trying to resolve the other issue. Under sounds and notifications, where you change your SMS tones, is a box for displaying incoming text in a pop up window. hope this helps
When the screen is locked, and a calendar remidner pops up, is the an option other than dismiss or snooze? For some reminders, I don't want to keep snoozing, and I don't want to dismiss cause it'll disappear. On the htc magic I would unlock the screen, check the reminder and then leave it or press home and it would stay in the notification pane until dismissed. But with the hero to even access it it seems I need to dismiss it. Any way around that?
On a completely unrelated matter, when you're talking on the phone and someone rings you, is it not possible to check the number afterwards? Seems that it doesn't register in missed calls.
Cheers.
I can answer the second question, when you go into your contacts (People shortcut), you can scroll to stuff in the bottom. When you slide all the way to the right, there is your call history. You can check incoming, outgoing and missed calls there.

Checked there, it doesn't seem to list missed calls that occurred while you were talking on the phone. So I hear the call waiting beeps, they stop, I end my call, and there's no record of the number that rang during my call.
the calendar thing is indeed a bummer, there should be the possibility to deactivate the alarm AND leaving the reminder unread, so it stays in the notification bar. i am wondering that i didn't notice this by myself yet, since i used to use the calendar this way all the time...
as for second question: just tried it, i see the missed call in the status bar, when i click on it i see it in the call history as missed call. i also see it when going by contacts -> most left icon in the bottom slidebar.
so far: 1. issue is a real annoying issue, 2. issue isn't a problem at all
hmm, thanks, maybe the beeping was in my head and not a call that was waiting!
On the calendar issue, seems to be an htc sense thing, as it worked fine on the htc magic that was plain android.
To not dismiss a reminder dont slide down but press the menu button on the lock screen, it removes the lock screen and takes you into the main screens.

Tried that, it still dismisses (or snoozes) the reminder. Which reminds me, in the calendar options, you can change the reminder display from 'show in notification bar' to ' show as alert' but both seem to do the same, at least when the screen is locked?!

What happens if you just hit the power/end button to turn teh screen off and then turn it in again?
same effect as snooze, pops up again a bit later
Next to the clock in the statusbar there is a little minus sign. When I tap it, it says"notifications off, tap here to turn back on". When I tap there, nothing happens.
I don't know how I turned them off to begine with, and can't seem to turn them back on. If I tap the clock, a popup appears with time and date, then I can see the notes, but they don't appear next to the clock like they used to.
Does anyone know how to get this back to normal. I'm on hc, stock rooted. Did a search, didn't see anything that sounded like this.
Press on battery icon, you'll see notification pop up, press small icon at bottom right (looks like 3 slider lines) you'll get the menu with possibility to tick/untick notifications.
It doesn't happen all the time but when I get a text & use the notification for that text on lock screen it goes to the oldest message from that person & not the new one.
I have it set on SORT to go to newest but like I said it doesn't do it all the time.
I have reset my phone back to factory 3 times & still have it.
Anyone else having this or have any input
Before the KitKat update, there was a feature that was simple but very effective and I absolutely miss it. Let's say you were in any application and someone called you, you would receive a call pop up from the bottom of the screen with three options (to accept call, deny call, I do not recall the last one) and when you decide to accept the call the popup would disappear and now your status bar would be green (to let you know that you are in the call) and you were able to keep doing what you were doing before the call (like multitasking the call and whatever you were doing). Since upgrading to KitKat, the popup shows up as normal but when I accept the call I am forced into the call screen. I've checked throughout my settings to see if it's an option to get it back but nothing . I am wondering if anyone knows a fix to this.

If I have to multitask, I just press home and it gets out of the call screen. I have that issue with my S-view flip cover when in a call it always goes to the call instead of what I was doing before. If you just press the home key, it should get you out of the call screen. It's something I always had to do even with JellyBean.
