My Apps in SD card not loading picture - HTC EVO 3D

I had to restart my phone and when it came back on, some of my application on any of the home screens were still there and worked when I engaged them, but the picture or the icon never refreshed. I don't have the fast boot checked, I like my phone to restart completely, if I remove the app then put back on home screen, the picture returns. What can I do?

There's another thread with the answer.
Short answer is: Sense has started up before the SD card is mounted. Hence, the icons for your apps on the SD were NOT available at the time. This is why some apps are phone only and you never put widgets on the SD.
You can do one of the following:
Move those particular apps back off the SD to the phone.
Restart sense with some app in the market.
Change your scene and change it back.

Work Around
Install Fast Reboot (Free from Market)
Run Fast Reboot
Icons will reappear.
I found the answer in another thread.

That's the market app. Couldn't remember and didn't want to go digging for the other thread.

Fast reboot comes with the phone in the power settings, icons came back when I force closed sense

NOT that fast reboot. hahaha. The fastreboot app in the market closes sense and such for you. it's not the Fast reboot built into the phone.

Also download "no lock" to disable the stock lockscreen
What's 'no lock'? I thought just using a lockscreen app would get rid of that one and put another one I want?
Yes, it puts it "on top", but doesn't completely replace out like out works with home launchers, abd eventually, the stock lockscreen pops up on top of your custom one.
No Lock disables the default keyguard so you can use a custom one without issues.

Be careful, once you use no lock the genius button can wake the phone and place calls.

If you are rooted, you can remove the HTC lockscreen app from /system. The default froyo lockscreen is just being overridden by that app.

Rock on! I always hated that lock screen! *presses easy button*
I would also add that a reboot is necessary.

I used root explorer to move the htclockscreen.apk and the odex files to my sdcard, got the standard froyo lockscreen. Moving it back didn't put the htc lockscreen back though, I still have the standard froyo. Now that I got rid of it, I kind of want it back, lol.
Actually, this may be a problem, I may need to exchange my Mytouch. Even a factory reset doesn't do it. I've wiped and restored it, still have the stock froyo lockscreen. The files are back in system/app, but I can't get it back somehow.
Try re installing the apk in the root folder, the n reboot, I haven't tried , just a theory

Tried that, nothing. I may just need to find a stock rom to flash now.
Did you reboot it after install
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
It wouldn't let me install, "application not installed". And yes, I had it mounted r/w. It's in there, it just isn't seeing it.
I tried, same here, I even tried fix permission in rom manager with no luck ...

Hmm, I think I should bring this up as a separate thread, this could be an issue if anyone needs to go back completely to stock.
Quick question though, do you ever see the left slide bar missing every now and then? Sometimes when I turn the screen on the left slide bar is invisible, but it shows when I touch it.
4 shared.com search for "go to .apk"

Yeah the left side did that to me too, luckily I did a nandroid right after root, took me back to stock. If you didn't, do that next time!
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
once this is doe is there anyway to get a picture on the background of the froyo background
I uninstalled the htc lockscreen on mine but I did a nandroid backup beforehand, and after doing that I just did a restore and it came back to working fine, don't know if that helps anyone out any

Is this another f****k bug ????

Sup guys, I was just wondering if this is a bug and if there is a way to fix it.
Ok when I restart the EVO 3D, all the apps that I have move to the SD, and I have in the 5 screen or in folders they loss like their picture and show a them andorid waving at u.
Btw I have a 16g 4class sandisk and I'm in my 4 EVO

It's a problem HTC is aware of I believe.
Just change scenes, from personalize menu, and change back and your icons will show up.
Yes its an issue with Sense. You can either move the programs back to the phone and their picture will show up or you can go to your themses settings and just reapply your current themes to make the proper application picture to show up.

App icons not showing

I'm pretty sure I've read about this in other threads, but the apps that I have on my SD card only have the generic Android app icon on the home screen and inside folders on home screen.
I read on Google that you can use an app called Fast Reboot and it would restart Sense, but when I run it, it says it restarted Sense but it didn't...
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem
go to personalize, then change the skin. Make sure you search before you post a new topic. Hope this helps though.
i found a way to fix it ...go to settings ....applications ....manage applications ...htc sense and then force stop the htc sense then press home ...sense will restart and the icons will show ...it worked for me

You know, I knew that would work but for some reason I just assumed that Sense wouldn't have been listed in the app list and just never bothered to actually check..... I feel stupid!
But thank you!

Lost apps on reboot

I've been unexpectedly losing some of my apps on reboots.
Wtf...?

What ROM? Are you using the SD flip flop? Which Launcher? This sort of thing has seemed to happen to me before, because almost all of my apps are on the sd card. The launcher/app drawer app loads before the stuff on the sd card, and it looks like apps are gone, but still show under menu->applications. Restart your launcher, see if that helps

Running eclipse v.06, with ADW launcher. And unless the SD flip is built into the ROM, I haven't flashed that modification

It is. I have an app or two disappear every now and then, but it's just GO Launcher being finicky. It's still there, I just need to restart the launcher and it shows up.

Downloaded Widgets don't show up under Widgets. HTC thunderbolt CM7.1.1

I just rooted amd installed Cm7 yesterday amd its awesome except for the facts that I can't find Widgets I download from the market. I long press the screen select Widgets amd there just not there. Even Widgets that come with apps such as advanced task killer don't show up. The Widgets I can use are the ones that came with the rom. Can anyone help me out here?

Assuming you followed the instructions and wiped everything and didn't restore any system data...
Apps installed to the sdcard can present widget problems such as this.
Other than that, reboot or restart your launcher.
Change any settings from stock install?
Ohh I changed the settings to put all apps I download on my SD. I was unaware that you couldn't use Widgets they were on the SD. I switched it back to automatic amd it works great now. Thanks for taking the time amd helping me out helping me out.
