So I have Das BAMF 1.8.6 and use the stock boot animation however I have one that comes up before that.
It's the HTC splash screen with the green android guy that says ROOTED in big letters diagonally across the screen. I don't want this splash screen however I have no idea how to remove it. I don't need a total of 3 different splash screens (the stock BAMF says the black HTC - quietly rooted screen followed by the Thunderbolt animation).
you should have an app called DasBAMF in your app drawer. open it and go to system settings enable/disable the boot animation. go back a page and go to extras. you can choose what splash screen/boot animation you want from there. you can also change the font from this menu.

It's not the boot animation I am having problems with, it's the splash screen *before* the boot animation.
The black screen is part of the boot animation, not a separate splash screen. You only have the splash that comes up when you first boot then the animation. Anything after the first screen is part of the animation itself.

Ok thats all fine and dandy however the problem is still removing the initial splash screen that comes before anything else.
I get the white HTC android logo splash screen with ROOTED across it and then the other screen + thunderbolt animation. I want to remove it!
I dont think you can remove the splash screen. IF there is a way, I do not know how to do it. you can change it in the das bamf tool kit, but other than that, I think you are stuck with it
I know you can modify that splash screen through the Das BAMF toolkit, and I did when I had it. But now I am on CM7 and still have my old splash screen. I want to change it back to stock so I am in a similar situation as the OP. Any word on whether you can use the BAMF toolkit on non-BAMF roms just for the splash screen setting?
Edit: I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1006999 basically the same thing just not nearly as convenient.

I second that. I was on 1.8.6 and set the splash screen with the chick on it, but now I am on 2.4.1 which is ginger based and I still the the splash screen with the girl on it, then I get the standard HTC quietly brilliant screen, and then the boot animation. How do I removed or go back to the original HTC Splash screend?
I would just change it in the toolkit however they removed that feature from the toolkit, now Im stuck.....
Go to this thread. In the OP there is a download called stocktbPG05IMG.zip. Download that, and flash in bootloader like any PG05IMG.zip. Then you will have the stock splash screen with the white background and HTC in green. I'm fairly sure you can't get rid of that first splash screen.

Hey guys,
I've done my homework and searched for similar topics as these but so far none came close to my solution (correct me if otherwise). Recently I flashed to this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1561705
from a stock ROM. Have done it a few times before and no problems have occurred. It's an MIUI rom and I decided to customize the theme a little. The themes section allows to change most of the detail ie fonts, status bar, home screen, lock screen, icons, boot animation.
And that's where it started, when I changed the boot animation, instead of using the default one. When I did a reboot after the switch, the usual boot logo was up, but then the screen turned pixelated like a CRT monitor/damaged LCD screen with colourful pixels. But then in boot into the new animation all fine, and has been ok since. The device boots fine, but I'm worried about that pixelated screen.
Is there anyway to fix this?
Please kindly advise Thanks!
anyone have any idea? x.x
You said it's been okay since? I wouldn't worry about it then. If you can't reproduce it, its not an issue.

Is it possible to change the splash screen on an SGS3?
By Splash Screen I mean the text "GALAXY S3" that shows up for a few seconds right before the boot animation when you turn the phone on.
No, unless you've root.

A splash screen is an image that appears while a game or program is loading. It may also be used to describe an introduction page on a website. Splash screens cover the entire screen or simply a rectangle near the center of the screen. The splash screens of operating systems and some applications that expect to be run full-screen usually cover the entire screen.

Anyway, somehow I managed to get into CWM (Don't know how, i just kept pressing Power + Volume down) and flash Miui
I'm still somewhat of a noob but I'm assuming that there is a way to show the POST screen when booting rather than the HTC splash screen. Does anyone know how to get rid of the splash screen?
You can flash a custom splash screen if your still off.. If that's what you mean

POST stands for power on self test. On a PC, its the black screen that shows up before the windows splash screen(if you're running windows). If it's a pre built system, usually the manufacturer's logo will show up in it's place, however there is a way to show the POST screen in those situations as well. The post screen just shows everything that the system is doing before actually loading the OS. So I'm not looking for a custom splash screen, I'm looking to remove the splash screen.

not possible. closest you'll get is a boot animation that'll mimic one
Well that sucks. I'm grateful that I won't waste any more time looking into it though. Thanks!
I'm running aokp jb on my phone. The other day I decided to change my boot animation so I used the tool in Settings to do so, then rebooted. However, after it got past the Samsung logo it was stuck on a black screen for about half a minute before the screen got brighter and the touch keys lit up, and it never boots into the OS. What's also strange is how I can feel the vibration of the pattern lock. I entered the pattern and heard the unlock sound. Is there any way that I could remove the boot animation and bring it back to the stock Aokp one, or do i need to reflash? Thanks.
