You mean restore via rsd?
Ya typo to restore your phone via rsd I would look on how to use rsd and fastboot for your phone before you attempt to do anything. There are lots of forum post on how to do this

To make a long story short... I let someone use my phone, they updated it to 2.3.4 . How do I obtain root privileges again? I don't need a step by step explanation. The quick version should get me on my way.
From what it seems I need to flash one of the Leaked SBF's? I just looked on the side of the box and I have S/W version 1.2.148.MB870. Do I need the SBF pertaining that that model?
Not to fear! You can root your OTA update and enjoy the benefits of 2.3.4! Google "Pete's one click root" and follow the instructions. It's VERY easy to do. Good luck.
Also, there are resources in the dev section.

As stated. Petes oneclick root method works fine.
But if u were EVER going to flash an sbf just make sure it is one you get from the X2 development forum ONLY.
If u try to flash an sbf for any other phone model u will be in for some trouble.
Thank you

It was more of a cautionary statement to be careful if doing a search and you end up in the x forum by mistake seeing as they also have a gb sbf it can be dangerous when people just quick glance the forum they are in
I know I've almost made that mistake. Started to download the sbf and was like why doesn't this look right? Lol
I think i have ****ed up my Phone.
I've flashed 1.8.3 on my AT&T Atrix and then updated to 2.3.4 with the official patch from Motorola. ( From here http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=9098bc50a569f210VgnVCM10000081bbb00aRCRD )
It worked all without problems.
After this i've tried to flash this sbf: "Full 2.3.4 with preinstall root and pudding bootloader unlock, full sbf" ( from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15023030 )
At the end i got a error in RSD Lite:
http://i.imgur.com/I8VRI.png
I tried to flash the 1.8.3 again but got the same error.
When i start the phone now it shows "SVF:105:1:2 Failed to boot 0x1000" and turns off after two seconds.
What to do ?

If it doesn't give you any options to enter fastboot, RSD, recovery, etc then you bricked your phone
If you took the time to read in the dev section it would have told you not to flash to 2.3.4 from Motorola. Reading is important, could have saved your phone

When it gives the error and shuts off...it's hard bricked...no fix.
You have to send it in for repair. Same thing happened to me. :/

these guys don't know what they're talking about. google the error you got, go to the thread on "atrixforums" and follow the instructions. there doesn't seem to be anyone on xda that knows how to fix this for some reason. the same thing happened to my brother's atrix a few weeks ago and it's up and running now

I googled it and only found a recovery-solution for a SOFT-BRICK. Please be so kind and post the link to the thread that has the solution for a HARD-BRICK.
The thing that was done wrong here was first flashing up to GB, then down to FroYo again to RECIEVE THE OTA!!! After an OTA he first tried to flash pudding and ended up with error - that can happen, no big deal.
The capital mistake was to flash 1.8.3. AGAIN!!!!
If you had read this thread (it´s A STICKY for good reason!!!!) this would never have happened.
So yes, the guy bricked his phone and if he does not have the Motorola equipment needed to fix that, he has to send it in for repair...
No need to be pissed off with someone who bricked their own Atrix. The playground visciousness of our Atrix forum on XDA is absurd.

Me? Not really pissed but a little annoyed. The Q&As are full of people posting problems they simply could have solved by reading the instructions carefully and/or using the search. SBF is something to be handeled with greatest care!
What annoys me big time is people who say XDA doesn´t have the solution, claim that it´s written somewhere (just google it...) and don´t provide the link!
The poor guy hard-bricked his phone for sure and I´m sorry for that!

Care to link this thead for us?
If you get the message the OP got you are hard bricked. If you get the message the OP got along with a menu displaying options such as RSD, fastboot, recovery............you have a soft brick from which you can recover.
Hi,
it s me again (got my USB port working )
I got a CWM based Recovery and CM9 on my Atrix, but I have to go back to stock as I want to send it in for warranty.
So, I have to flash a stock SBF (Germany O2). Is there any risk to hardbrick? I am asking because i read for example this
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TRY TO RESTORE A 4.5.91 system to stock with RSD LITE.

1. So I am wondering whether there could be any problems from my setup to stock?
2. Anyone know whether there s any Germany O2 ROM or which Rom i should use instead?
Sry for these noobs questions again.
Best regards

Is there any way to return to COMPLETE STOCK 2.3.6 ? of course also to be rooted.
Thanks !
Not an OP but extensively read
I would like to know the answer to this also. I've read everywhere and there seems to be lots of warnings involved when going back to a stock room on the Atrix 4G. Is anyone available to confirm?

I have flashed two phones with the stock sbf. I don't know why everyone is freaking out about it. I just flashed a 2nd time to be sure. NO PROBLEMS ......

guide please ?
Download the latest RSD lite.
Install the program on your Windows computer. ( xp works best for me. Sometimes get errors on win7).
Download the 2.3.6 sbf. Make sure it is the one for your carrier.
Open rsd lite.
Select the sbf file.
Start.
That's what I did. It was simple.
A google search could probably find you a better guide though.
Good luck.
As usual, this is what I have done, and I take no responsibility if it doesn't work for you.
Using rsdlite to flash an .sbf is dangerous if you flash one prior to 2.3.4 gingerbread. All others are safe to my knowledge. But using pudding is easier and faster.

Quick note: If you SBF flash a stock ROM while you're on a custom ROM, remember to wipe the data in stock recovery when you're done! :good:
Thanks !
Now, where can i find SBF file which is compatible with ATT Atrix 4G in Israel ?
My carrier is Cellcom but i bought the phone with ATT Rom.
And another q's, if i flash SBF of complete stock 2.3.4, will i be able to use Moto OTA update through the phone to get 2.3.6 ?
Thanks again !

Do not use RSD lite and .sbf. do some searching and you will find that Motorola doesn't condone using RSd lite for public use. Flash the appropriate fruitcakes just like you would a rom except wipe the phone completely (especially when you are down grading. If you do use rsd lite and hard brick your phone I will have no sympathy for you as your phone will be a very expensive paper weight. Many many people have already started forum pages on why you should not use rsd lite. Just my opinion... take it or leave it as you may.

Your welcome... didn't mean to come off harsh, but I'd rather sound harsh then have another fellow member hard brick their phone.. use the search and look for fruitcakes... completely safe, just remember to always have a known working backup as always before upgrading or downgrading versions.

I live in Israel and have the ATT atrix 4G running Cm7 now.
The problem with sbf files is if you flash the wrong one. Make sure you have the right one and you will have no problems. Check the other threads. There are alot of us flashing them.
It would solve your problem.

So I rooted my phone about 3 days ago using a not so popular method i think. I rooted my phone without using a computer or a dock and pushed the tmp file with terminal emulator. That's not my issue though. My issue is that I attempted to install cm9 but I F**cked up because i am new at this kinda stuff. Now My phone is bricked and all it says is "failed to boot 2 starting RSD mode" I cant do anything though. I am downloading 1FF sunfire user 2.3.4 zip i have RSDLite 5.5 I cant seem to find the SBF for it.
If someone could help me by giving me step by step instructions it would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I need Urgent Help as I am leaving out of town this weekend and I need my phone working by then. PLEASE HELP
Thanks,
-Mario
Mario did you do the OTA to 2.3.5? If so you have a expensive paper weight. The new OTA doesn't allow flashing.

No worries, you'll be fine. Sounds like you're having the same problem as another gentleman we've been helpin for the past couple days. You've flashed a rom that you can only use while having an unlocked bootloader. Please refer to my post in his thread right here for a link to an sbf and video directions. This will only work if you rooted while you had 2.3.4. If you took the recent ota update from moto that put you on 2.3.5 then I can't help you.

You can root 2.3.5 just fine. You just can't install custom ROMs if you had it. No you're not bricked, it would have just been an easy fix if you tried this while having 2.3.4 installed. If you had 2.3.5, you just made it extremely difficult on yourself. Hope isn't lost, your just out of my area of expertise. Should have read around the forums a bit more, the 2.3.5 issue is common knowledge round here.
