Hi,
First of all o tried to serch something like that all day and didn't found, so, if anyone knows a topic about it with anwsers or some website, pls post it and close the topic.
So, yesterday i took my x10 with 67% battery and connected to the PC to charge and gone to sleep. I use a desktop and it was on all the time. But like 5 hours later, my phone was powered off and completely drained. It only flashed the red light 3 times when i tried to power up. So i connected again to the same computer without touching the pc. It started to blink the flash light for a while, then the light turned green. I waited a little and tried to turn it on. Again, it blinked 3 times and nothing. Connected again and some time later, the charging battery icon appeared, and it started to charge again, and i powered it on normally, and my battery was at 1%.
Even it got no recharge at all, with 67% on standby, my phone lasts almost 3 days, so only 2 options left: The pc is draining it, what i think its nonsense, since it never drain battery from nothing i connect, or theres a bug on the mod, or its a problem on the phone itself.
It's not the first time it happens, but never happen when i used the Miui mod or stock mod. Happen about 5 times already, only on cm mod.
What i already did:
- Reseted the battery stats when it was 100%, drained it until it turned off alone, charged again.
No more ideas.
I noticed something like that too few days ago..
Usually, when I want to charge it from a computer, I turn all the radio (wifi, 3G, sync, etc..) and let the phone charge and its working fine.
Don't know the reason though.
When your computer goes into sleep mode the phone doesnt charge anymore but its not supposed to eat 67% of battery neither ....

I was using Wolfbreak's ROM (v007) up until two days ago, and one of my biggest complaints was poor battery performance. Not sure if it's the ROM or the baseband (52), but when I was at work my battery would drain stupid-fast (100% to dead in 5-6 hours). Part of that I think was that I get poor reception in my office (typically around 99 dBa), but the battery didn't drain that poorly using the old FreeX10 ROM.
I'm now running Jerpelea's CM7.0.3, but still on BB52. So far battery use seems about the same as with Wolfbreak's, but I'm still trying to optimize my battery stats.
Ive used the last few versions of trips roms and on v008 now..battery drain is the only issue ive pretty consistently had with them. Im on bb54..
*wouldnt necessarily call it excessive tho*

last night i had my tbolt charging. the phone was off while charging, and it was left plugged in for a few hours beyond the led changing over to green.
after i unplugged the phone and went to turn it on, well... it wouldn't turn on. i did feel the initial vibrate i always get right before the htc screen comes on, however, the screen never came on. i ended up having to pop the battery out and then after putting it back in the phone booted normally.
however, now it seems as though my battery is draining way faster than it has been. i've had the phone a few weeks and the battery has been properly conditioned. after taking it off the charger at approx 2:00am this morning, a mere 10 hours later (whilst completely in standby for the entire time) it's already down to 83%.
what gives? could this just be an accuracy issue with the reported levels? i've read about fully charging and booting in to recovery to reset battery stats. or is it a far worse issue and something has happened to my phone that's damaged the battery in some way?
btw, i'm rooted and running das bamf remix 1.7 with imoseyon's leankernel (running in normal mode with swap enabled).
just a quick update:
after some moderate use (texting, web browsing, downloaded a few market apps) the battery continues to drop much faster than it ever did before. i'm using wifi at the moment.
Have you cleared battery stats lately?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
no, but i'm going to do just that tomorrow after work when i have a chance to fully charge the phone.
one other thing i just realized that may be contributing to the problem though... my g/f was playing around with my phone and she signed into latitude. doh!
Im a little fed up. Ive had the phone for over a year, and the batteries always been the worst, but lately its been even worse. I left the house at like 7:15am this morning and its 1:45 and the phone just died, and all ive done is text and have a 30 min phone call.
I hoping a couple of you can tell me what youve done to get some more life out of your battery. Ive been running CM7. Ive used Glitch kernel with it before, but didnt see any improvement at all, though i dont know what i was doing.
please help me.
When I was using CM7 my battery was terrible until I switched back to a froyo rom. I am running trigger right now and my battery lasts me all day unless I am constantly watching videos. I use my phone all day long though, from surfing the web to talking and texting and listening to my podcasts and it still lasts me all day.
Battery calibration app and an extra battery is my best advice. I bought a wall charger off ebay from hong kong for $1 it also came with 2 spare batteries that I keep charged at 100% and switch out often because I agree about battery life not being as good as one would like on GB.

HOW TO RECALIBRATE YOUR BATTERY (by heartagramm):
COMPLETE GUIDE!!!
You'll have to use the phone for about 1-4 days (although it varies depending on the phone and battery used; every phone is an individual). It runs out of battery. Yes. Let it run. Recharge. After 3-4 recharges the battery will "gain" it's performance back.
After 3-4 full charge/full drain -cycles, do the following:
1. Charge the battery up to fullest.
2. Keep it plugged in to charger, and reboot to recovery.
3. On the recovery, go advanced, wipe battery stats, scroll on to yes BUT Don't wipe them yet. When you're ready, quickly remove the battery cable and push to wipe the battery stats.
4. Reboot the phone, use normally. Let it run completely out of battery.
5. Charge the phone back to full. Turn off phone. Charge until it says 100% on the green bar and vibrates for full charge.
6. The Important Part. Remove the charge cable for 0-0.5 seconds and plug it back in instantly. Let it charge to 100% again. Do this 1-2 times again, so you've done this 2-3 times total.
7. Reboot to recovery, wipe the battery stats again as on the step 3.
8. After wiping the battery stats, plug the charger back in the phone.
9. Reboot to ROM. Keep the cable plugged in. Keep it plugged in for about 30 mins to 2 hrs. Unplug. Should say 100%, mine did for about 40 mins after it depleted onto 99%.
And this is the way you should really gain great battery performance.

Just shut your data off when not in use your battery will last all day that way

Hi, I've been having some problems with my Galaxy S2. About a week ago(maybe a day after flashing MIUI), my phone wouldn't boot normally, and only gave me a symbol which I ment battery overheated. Only way to start it up was CWM. So I did that for a few days, and then the battery drain would get really intense. It'd be at 100% for a few hours, and then suddenly it'd drop to 80% in a minute or two, and then it'd go normally down to 70% and then down to 40% in a few minutes, etc.
It wouldn't charge when I plugged it into the wall, either, and it's not possible to turn the phone off either, it just starts up again by itself and gives me the "YOUR BATTERY IS OVERHEATED/AT 80% BATTERY" error. But even if I plugged it in in that position, or actually running it wouldn't charge for a few hours, and then it'd start charging randomly for about 5 minutes. So after a full night of charging (8 hours) it'd get about 30% battery recovered.
I didn't really read into it any and just figured buying a new battery would fix it, but it didn't. It still won't charge properly and the drain is pretty intense still. And still gives me the overheat sign, and won't boot properly, etc etc..
The reason I haven't just tried flashing a different ROM is because I live at school where a 100-300mb download is impossible to pull off, and I won't be back home for over a month.
If this is too long to read, lol here's a summary:
Flashed MIUI
Battery won't recharge
Drains fast
Phone won't boot properly
Bought new battery, same problems
Live at a place with no proper internet connection to download a different ROM with.
Does anyone have any idea what it could be? The rom? Some rampant application running wild in MIUI? The phone?
Oh and also I've tried re-flashing MIUI, and clearing the cache, data, battery stats, etc etc.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Have you tried to flash back a standard rom?

Is anyone else having issues with this phone loosing around 20% to 30 % after a restart. It doesn't happen everytime but sometimes when the phone is turned off and on the battery drops from, for example , 50% to 30%. I had this issue with official roms and unofficial roms.
Hi mali019, this happen to me as well, i'm not sure this is cause by the battery itself or the phone itself. My phone will auto restart when the battery usage is @ 4x percent. After itself restarting. The battery will drop to 33 percent every time. I'm swapping a battery with a fren of mine and started testing today. I'm using KG6 roms.
never had that problem...
Do you guys quit apps or just press the home button? Use the in-built task manager, it's good.
I don't use taskmanagers. Only use the one that comes with the phone. This problem happend on every rom i tried. From 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 . I'm gonna buy the new 2000mah and see if it happens again.
Just now i pulled out the battery without turning the phone off and battery percentage dropped from 41% to 22% . Currently I'm using KG6

Isn't that what I've said?
Anyway, you can try installing Watchdog from Market to see if you have apps misbehaving and what is using you cpu.

The problem is not an app using the battery. The problem is the phone loosing 20-30 % percent battery after a restart. The phone is not displaying the correct battery percentage.
I even had the battery percentage increasing after a restart without being pluged in to a power point. For example I'll restart the phone for any reason with a battery percentage off 50%. After the restart the battery percentage will show 23%. Sometimes the percentage will increase like its on charge. It will go up to 30%.
Never had this problem better get checked the battery in Samsung service center
Said that because it happened to me that if the phone gets hot, percentage drops. Later, it returns to a higher percentage.
I was experiencing the auto restart and instant battery drain issue while using ninphetamine 2.1.x
After changing to other kernel. No more auto restart nor instant battery drain issue.
You might need to a battery calibration.
I got a new battery ( Perks of working at a phone shop ) hopefully it will fix the issue
I also notice that it takes quit some% after each restart but not 20%. Actually the battery was good when I first got this phone. But after 175 apps installed, battery isn't good anymore.

Moving to Q&A
Today I left my phone in my room and after an hour I wanted to check my emails before going to bed the screen did not turn on so even after a long press on the power button, so I removed the battery (it was ice cold) after replugging it booted and voila there was a huge drop 50 percent perhaps? So I said to myself, I think I left a resource intensive app running and forgot about it and went to bed without plugging the charger, 3 hours later I wake up thinking it would give me a critical or charge your phone dialog, but instead I have a battery that charges itself ...
Now in reality that would be cool but i think there is a problem. Using the ninphetamine 2.0.4 kernel for a few days for bln but it was disabled, stock rom.
I have attached two screenshots one taken right after and the other one 3 hours or so after.
I don't think that I would need a recalibration after a few charges the phone is not a week old.
Hi, I have this exact problem with cognition+ Siyah kernel, how can I fix it??
So I changed the kernel and everything seems ok now, my problem was with Siyah Kernel.

I experienced same problem - I was browsing, then phone restarts itself and the battery is instantly on 18% (from 50%).
And then started to recharge itself.
Stock 2.3.4 ROM (version XWKH4), running the same configuration for nearly two months now, with only few restarts (once in 20 days), no new app installed recently.
Maybe some glitch in internal electronic?
Same problem, just a bit more drastic. My phone seems to freeze, in which I have to manually restart it. And then I see the battery falls sharply. This is on stock Firmware (unrooted) too.
Hi XDA,
Ive been getting alotta help from you, great developers, and had this question
that dont think has been solved yet. (I searched for 2 days)
So my current situation is;
Im running the latest energy rom (sense 3.0) with stock kernel, (as it was recommended on the post).
After flashing custom roms, beats audio and etc via ADB, i believe my
battery stat display is not normal.
It would take at least 90~120minutes to reach 100% from 99%.
And sometimes even if I have the charger hooked up to the phone
it would still drop to 99% from 100.
I have two batteries (Stock and Anker) and tested them both.
It looks like no matter how long i charge it, as long as i have 100% or 99%
on the battery, it takes around 12minutes and 13seconds screen-on time to drain 10% of the battery. Which it was way less than i expected.
but after dropping around 68~63%, the battery seems to last longer on each
percent points.
On top of that, I think my phone is not charging anymore when I turn to power off. I can feel the phones gone cold and not charging, but the orange light is always on and never turns green for some reason.
So my question is:
IS THERE ANY SOLUTION (LIKE BATTERY CALIBRATION THAT ACTUALLY WORKS?) TO THIS? IVE READ SO MANY THREADS ABOUT THIS BUT NOTHING IS GIVING ANYBODY A CLEAR ANSWER.
I have the same problem as you. I'm on Sense 3.5 RC1.6. Infact I just restarted my amaze in hboot mode and then back into normal. My battery went from 10% to 60%. Then after like 15 minutes of usage it went back down to 10%. Also my battery drains to almost dead at about ~3 hours of screen time with moderate-heavy usage.
have you guys fully charged it ? gone into advanced in Clockworkmod and deleted battery stats?
i havent hacked my amaze but when i had my g2x after every flash i would charge teh battery to 100% then wipe battery stats x2 and then let the battery drain to 0 percent. then it should give you accurate readings
I did that but I used Battery Calibrator app from market. 2 times and discharge to 100%. Also how long should the battery last on average?
I'm runnign stock, it lasts me a day, but depends on usage. I text alot, some calls, twitter facebook, a lot of music, some FML, and some camera lasts me all day, (i charge in the morning so it lasts me a full 24 hour cycle)
Hmm seems as if my battery drains pretty fast. I timed it with medium-low brightness just leaving the screen on, with 3g and music. I get 1% per 3 minutes on. No auto-sync or background data either.
as most of people usually say i should fully drain my battery and charge til 100%,
im doing that right now.
My phone got shut off during my jelly defense stage 13 session
and plugged the phone but it didnt turn on for like 10 minutes.
so i kinda freaked out that the clockworkmod recovery that i have right now
does not support charging when the phone is not awake, but i guess the charging is really slow since i have finally turned on my phone.
im just gonna let it sit on my side table charging, and ill prolly fall asleep..
cuz im definitely not in the mood to watch LeBron James' face tonight.
I will let you guys know.
Thanks.

i hear you.
but after searching several threads about HTC AMAZE's bad battery life,
im slowly being convinced that 3 hours of screen time doesnt sound really that
bad. lol
mine just died around 2 hrs 45 min screen time while the phone was up without a charge for 14 hours. well i guess if i start using the phone nonstop after a full charge, then maybe ill get 3 hours or more.... but still...its only 3 hours...

Once it`s charged make sure you flash 5.5.0.4 recovery. Using the toolkit makes that easy.

ive overheard from someone that 5.5.0.4 is causing bootloops when flashing
other roms, but did you have any problem with this?
