hey guys... im thinking of buying he evo 3d in the uk when its out soon.
just a few quick questions that id like answering please
how does the evo 3d turn the 3d screen from 2d to 3d? lol
whats battery life like
and if the build quality good?
thanks guys
Switch on the side only camera.
Battery life is very good for me atleast.
The phone feels good in my hand feels well built imo
The 3D is controllable for only the camera. You can adjust it by using the switch. As for the other questions. Your answers will be subjective. I myself experience great battery life, but others don't. I like the look and feel of the phone, but others don't.
how do you turn the 3d off on the screen?
thanks for he reply, how many hours do you get out of battery
ah okay so im guessing sense reckonises when a 3d photo or video or app is running and automatically turns 3d on

The only things that will display in 3D is movies, games and photos (that are 3D). You can turn 3D photos into 2D by using the settings. The rest is 2D. I can get around 16-20 hours with normal usage, but that is also subjective. What is normal for me may not be normal for you.
Ah well thanks for your help one last question, how much free ram do you normally have free?

Spent some time in PA last week and had fun with my new EVO LTE's slow motion video. The intro is using a program called Lapse It Pro, but the phone fell before we finished building the slide. Thought I would show off some creative capabilities of this phone since it's 2.0 aperture lens is why I chose this over all other smart phones.

As a new film maker, I'm really excited that I can use a device I can bring in my pocket as a creative tool. I really want to play with the Nokia 808 at some point. But this phone is really holding me over.
Nice vid.
The slow motion is surprisingly clear. The resolution of mine drops when in slow motion. Is your camera app modified in some way? Was that the stock can app?

No modifications, just a sunny day. Camera sensors and light are best friends.
Was it edited with an app or on PC? I tried the movie maker app but its almost worthless.

I used Sony Vegas on my PC. I've yet to find a good android editor that I liked. Most are clunky, and I think they render poorly. Almost always notice a drop in video quality after I render an edit.

I couldn't find the settings for slow motion. How do you get slow motion video?

when you press the "A" icon on the camera where you change the auto, close up setting there at the very top is the option for slow motion
Anyone else having a nightmare of a time with video recording? Compared to my original one x it's very choppy and loads of picture noise. Very very disappointed. Think I might sell it. I don't find anything else, apart from jellybean, worth the upgrade to be honest.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Hmmm i thought they might actually have tweaked the camera at least on the software side of things to make it better than one x but this turns out to be just the opposite ! Anyhow thanks because these days only real user opinions can be trusted not those reviewers !
I don't know what's going on, my HOX+ records very well... I have to guess if
1) users do something very wrong
2) there are some faulty devices out there
3) the want to troll the HOX+
Don't forget it's a smartphone and no DSLR, so you will need enough light for pics, but that's the same with all similar decives with this small sensors out there...
Mine is very very fast, get's warm but never in any way hot, battery life is great and recording of stills and video is excellent compared with other smartphones...

I love my one x camera. Stills and video are great. The one x+ stills are not quite as good but I can live with it. It's not bad by any means but the video recording is very poor. Can't live with it like this. Going to do a factory reset and see if that helps. If not I'm going to try and exchange it. I'm thinking I might have a faulty device.

Maybe a third party video recording app can fix this?
Any suggestions for 3rd party apps?
I shouldn't have to rely on them but it's worth a shot.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
You might want to try this one.
Thanks. Will check it out. And report back.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Just checked the app you suggested. It's definitely better. Love the fact you can alter the bitrate. It seems to solve the blockiness and noise. Although im only checking on my phone as I'm not at home to try it in my tv. Unfortunately the chopiness is still there. Most annoying. Will have to check more when I'm home. You guys who are having no problems, what are you comparing the video recordings too? Which phones?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
Just an update.
I've exchanged the phone for a new one and the stock video camera is still definitely far inferior to the original one x. Not sure if it's just a software problem but I assume it is. Can anyone else with both phones confirm this to save my sanity please.
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda app-developers app
I'll try it tomorrow and report back.

Almost guaranteed to be a software issue. HTC just looooooves to compress the living hell out of everything without giving an option to remove compression.
Thanks. Try and compare on a tv if possible
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem with poor choppy video. I did a side by side comparison with the original HOX and the video is much better than the HOX+.
Anyone else having disappointing video recording on the one x+?
And also has anybody got any 3rd party camcorder apps to recommend? I'm using LG cam at the minute but it seems a bit buggy.

Any problem for my part, j 'ai having made a concert of the group " the cranberries " and my videos photographs are splendid
Are you looking at the videos on a tv or just the phone?

Agreed...mine is terrible too. Most certainly the software. Trying Procapture, as the app listed earlier in this thread just crashes when I click on the advanced options.

Thank god I'm not going crazy. Thanks for putting my mind at rest. I'm a bit worried that not enough people have noticed this to bring it to HTC,s attention.
Hope they fix it soon or I might just keep my one x and sell this.
Shame because I love everything else about the phone.

Hey all, quick question regarding cameras on Android phones.
What affects how fast the camera takes a photo? Is it software (app or possibly rom?), hardware(camera, ram, cpu), or something else? Just wondering, because I noticed my friends s3 take photos much faster, especially in regard to auto focusing (iphone as well). I have an HTC Sensation, and my camera takes much longer to take a photo. Any info or insight would be awesome!

is there fix for this yet?
Yup. It over compensate for the low light by adjusting the iso higher therefore making some images and videos blurry.

night shots are pretty bad. hopefully is fixed

Yeah, if you wanna run that boring and crippled OS. Just carry a compact digital camera if you are that desperate for better shots and video instead of lowering your phone standards.
I'm not directing that at you, just in general.

Decent still not great. I guess it could be improved, but only as far as the sensor allows.

I still think we are not going to see "great" night video/picture on any phone for a while yet. We could be two three years away from that imo.
The only way that will happen is if you get a big enough sensor that bulges out of the phone. Like in the case of Nokia builds.

You honestly can't see the difference in lg G2 and HTC one night video? The fps is so...slow it doesn't look natural at all.
Sent from my C6603 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The f2.4 lens can only get so much light. The low light video was sweet in my one, but that's an f2 lens.
The g2 has decent video, but not being able to lock focus and exposure is a really downer. The continuous autofocus kills the videos
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk 2
Both video show a brightly lid night scene but blurry, probably the result of low shutter speed and wide open apertures. If there is some way for people to manually set the shutter speed and aperture or make it less aggressive while taking the video, I am sure everyone will be happy.
Trying lower the brightness setting while taking the of the video might help with higher shutter speed and better focus.
The video that shows the drive through Bangkok's road I am impressed by the stabilisation though. =)

I honestly think when I had the SGS4 it took the best videos. Sound capture was really great and also fps was superb. Think I am going back to it ((((

yeah the S4 kills the G2 in terms of video all around.
damn it, I really want this phone over the S4 for its battery, I dont want to go to Note 3 cause that thing is way too big....WHY LG?! WHY?! U WERE SOOO CLOSE.....
I had a HTC one and the the video was ok for the one time I tried a night video since launch. Are you lot going bat watching or something as I'd gladly have a much faster phone and better screen then go to a s4 or HTC one.
