[Q] Access to Images from 3D photos - HTC EVO 3D

Evo owner here, haven't upgraded yet, but I have a question. When taking a 3D picture, is it possible to view each 2D image that is taken with each camera or are the images automatically combined into the 3D image file?

Pretty sure, you can't split the two images. Unless, there is a way in the many steroscopic software's we have listed in the themes and apps forum, I believe

If you open the picture in the gallery and "Share" it it will ask if you want to share in 3d or 2d, select 2d and share it with your own email (or the person you are actually trying to send it to).
Granted it will only use one camera angle (and if you use Messages to share it will automatically knock it down to 2d).

You can also just hit the "magic wand" button and chose "Save as 2D"

Thanks guys ... Just wondering as I was wanting to take each individual image and combine them into a gif image with high frame rate to make 3D effect for viewing online

do that and post one, im curious. if it doesn't work as an .mpo, change the filetype to .jps and try that?

I have an idea. If you view the pic on a 2d screen, doesn't it show it as a side by side? Photoshop, cut the pic in half. Maybe that would work?

To all those that didn't know you can veiw 3d in 2d and back into 3d, to see which you like better just tap the screen on your 3d pic's/video's and then tap the 3d icon next to the title at the top right when the menu is up (which will toggle it between 2d and 3d like the LG Thrill 3D does).

Any one who has a 3vo want to test a video for me?

I converted a video to fit the 3d's screen size and I want to see if it works well on the 3d. I won't have mine until Friday.

It was already a 3d video. I just shrunk it... It was 258MB and now it is around 34MB. The file size difference is what I am after.
Still split screen

Try playing it from the gallery (if you aren't doing that now.)
Sorry it doesn't allow me to, it starts the player automatically from the thread

It's almost certainly a file extension issue.
:-( Appears side by side double screen.
What are the file extensions of the camcorder on the 3d? Here is the instructions I used, I was hoping it would carry the 3d over with the file I used.
http://www.knowyourcell.com/htc/htc...deos_and_transfer_them_to_the_htc_evo_3d.html
It could also be that the file type was wrong to start. I don't know if side by side is the format needed.

I'm on the XDA App so I can't give the link to the page, but there is a thread with lots of pictures in the general section

There are definitely lots of good pics in that thread.
I found a 3d gallery full of .mpo's but I haven't explored it on my phone yet, hope it's good
http://3dmedia.com/gallery/
edit- looks like the phone won't display the images. I don't know anything about these files yet but the extension when downloaded is .MPO, not .mpo
I use 3dporch.com. they have pics from different devices including the 3ds from Nintendo and more. All files are downloaded in .mpo if you have that option selected.

its easy. have to resize them into 540*950 with stphmkre.exe (photo editor)
Phereo 3D is available on Market and has lots of 3D pics.
The best ones can be seen on the frontpage, family filter keeps it clean.

3D video conversion

Is there a way to convert the 3d videos on the phone back to 2d like u can with the pictures....took a video of some friends at a marathon in 3d and they want Tue video but I can't seem to find a way to get it to 2d so they can view it
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
touch the screen during the video on the top right click 3d icon and it will change to 2d
Yea that works while viewing it on a phone but I mean if I was to send the file...when I try to send the file or upload it some where, becuase it is a 3d video it shows the clip side by side....I want to convert the file to 2d so people who can't enjoy the richness of 3d can have the file sent to them so they can view it on their devices

Request for a Port 3d spaces from lg thrill

It would be really cool if a Dev could port this app from the lg thrill.
Is anyone else interested.

Link to app thread?
3D Space?
If its the app from the LG phone, I think it just puts a bunch of 3D stuff in an easy to find directory. Unless I am thinking of something totally different?

convert 3D video to 2D for off phone viewing

Is there anyway to convert the 3D videos recorded on the Evo3D into some format that plays back properly elsewhere? I'd like to play a few of the files on my computer/edit BUT the recorded file plays two side by side squished frames
Anyone?

Click Thanks Button If I have Helped You In Any Way
If that is too confusing a quick/dirty way of doing it is to upload them to YouTube. On your computer you can then choose to view 3d videos through one "eye" only.
