Anyone used this screen protector before? Nice price...but that makes me worry a bit about the quality.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=skinomi&aq=f
I have one on my Transformer and Nexus S 4G and I'm happy with both.
They don't feel quite as durable as Invisible Shield (yet far, far more durable than the cheaper adhesive plastic models) but the installation is easier and the price is nice.
I have one arriving on 7/12 for my Evo 3D. I'll make a post related to my first impressions on it if you like.
I would appreciate.
Not as durable, what do you mean? I have never used a screen protector. Screwed one up when I tried to put one on my hero. Almost think it would be worth getting a zagg at best buy and paying to have it installed so I don't screw it up.
I just haven't heard the best things about zagg.
Thank you.
Skinomi are nice. I like them better than Zagg. They scratch fairly easy though. I'm using Clarivue screen protectors and like them better than Skinomi or Zagg. Skinomi has a lifetime warranty, like Clarivue and Zagg.
It's the material they use. Zagg's InvisibleShield feels like a thin rubber sheet while Skinomi's are a little more rigid (but less so that the dime a dozen cheap ones sold by Sprint). Putting a noticble, permanent scratch onto an InvisbleShield takes some serious effort. Overall, some things that will put a scratch on a Skinomi won't on a Zagg. For the money I think Skinomi is pretty solid and a far better investment than the thin velum ones (by Innocell and Writeright) that the Sprint stores in my area are pushing.
InvisibleShield does make the screen feel a little a little bumpy, almost sticky, when swiping (the "orange peel" effect some people refer to) whereas the Skinomi is totally smooth. I've never cared either way but some folks do seem to have a preference.
I'll post here again when I get my 3vo Skinomi and let you know what I think.

I've had the Zagg screen protectors and really didn't care for the feel. As stated above than can feel sticky when swiping, etc. I found some decent reviews on the Phantom Skinz screen protectors and decided to try it. Much better feel and once dries is hardly noticeable. Also seem to resist scratching very well. Plus you get 2 for the price of 1 and protectors for the glass on the back camera. Check them out:

Ive had skinomi on my evo4g since day one and put it through hell. Not a mark on the screen yet. Feels smooth too!

Got it today. Will put it on later and let you all know what I think?
Put it on, feels great. Look horrible....but I am assuming what appears to be moisture, scratches, and etc will disappear in a few days?
Screen scratched....but they are sending a new one.
Got a zagg installed. Love it. May keep this and give away the skinomi.
If anyone wants it, ill consider giving it away, you pay for shipping.
My small contribution to xda.
I actually got the full body film and it was fairly easy to install. The only thing I don't like is the ridges in the back of the EVO 3d turn out white and sustain the moisture from the solution. But the cut outs are perfect and the screen and camera protectors are nearly invisible. The touch to the screen protector is nice and smooth with no catch whatsoever. Also the film on the body give it a nice glazed look that I've grown to enjoy. I give this product an 8.5 out of ten. The screen protector on its own is 10th out of 10.

Is it on your Decepticon or Autobot? Because I always wanted a Prime.
My last phone was scratched, and among other issues with it, so I returned it for a new one. The scatches bummed me out so bad I made sure this time I'll get a screen protector. Bought the Zagg Smudge Free one for my phone and the feel is awesome, but it looks like ****. Everything is grainy and there are lines throughout the screen, so looking at 3D pictures and stuff sucks. If anyone can suggest an awesome screen protector that doesn't mess up picture quality, let me know.

I have used Zagg & just about every other screen protector out there. I have found XO Skins to be the best. They are much like Zagg, but are smoother, clearer & cure much better with less bubbles & imperfections in it. Just use Google & you will find them. You can also find many coupon codes for them. If I remember right BYUBLUE will get you $3 off.
@ BlueGoldAce I sent you a pm regarding the skinomi.

I've been looking at some reviews including a very lengthy one from a couple of years back on Youtube where he tried about NINE different brands (Including anti-glare or crystal from the same manufacturers) and he tried pretty much most of the known brands including Zagg. He did miss out Martin Fields and a few others though.
I've seen the XO skins are pretty easy to apply wet. Much easier than the Zagg.
XO aplication.

Large shooutout of various screen protectors. But it's a couple of years old and for a tablet PC rather than pads.

I am going to continue looking. But if anyone finds the perfect screen protector let me know. That XO looks easy to apply. But I want anti-glare and anti-reflectin as well as anti-smudge and 0 bubbles (in other words eacy to apply). Protection from scratches is actually pretty low down my list of wants.
If anyone can post their experiences (good or bad) of various screen protectors please do so here. I noticed there is a reasonably priced TF1010 anti-glare protector made by Posr.us and has two five star reviews on Amazon. Also someone called MFX is making one as well as Martin Fields and SGP Steinheil.
Thanks I needed one still and this looked decent and easy to apply (I prefer the wet application) I bought it and used coupon code "retailmenotxo" for 15% off ... it covered more than the shipping so that was cool.
I put on Skinomi on my beloved transformer. yeah it's a wet app, and I'm not yet skilled in it's application yet, but certainly feel much safer with it on than not - even despite the alleged "scratch resisteance of Gorilla Glass"
well my screen has a scratch only had it a week

Well, scratch resistant =/= scratch proof, so all those people who say Gorilla Glass is the reason why you shouldn't need a screen protector are fooling themselves. I personally have a clearfreak protector on my transformer. It definitely makes me feel more at ease when I use it.
I bought two of the (as far as I can tell) unbranded screen protectors from ElectronicCrap.com. Other than the non-existent directions, I'm quite happy. Not terrible with the fingerprints, reduces the glare, feels and appears quite durable. Price seems a tad steep (given that you can get whole packages of universal ones for like $10) but these fit perfectly edge-to-edge with the cutout for both the light sensor and the camera. It didn't come with directions of any kind but it's a screen protector - it isn't rocket science. I'd say overall it's a keeper.
I picked up a dcmugen antiglare from ebay and I love it. Damp or dry install, the type with the two peel off layers, and repositionable to boot. It ships from Asia, and mine came with a slight crease causing bubbles that cant be flattened. I've requested a replacement, waiting to see if they follow through. So much easy to use indoor and out, and far fewer fingerprints to clean off.

Got a zagg at bestbuy today because I was bored more or less. Installation went well even though the thing stuck to itself. But a few hours later and I'm bubble and wrinkle free nd protected. Now to decide if I want a spg crytal or not....

My experience with Zagg has been mixed with all my devices but their customer support is good. If you get a bad protector(line down middle, or little imperfections) they will send you another.
The XO skin looked very promising, and for $10 cheaper I thought I would give it a shot. Just placed an order for the XO skin.
Use discount code retailmenotxo for $3 off(free shipping pretty much)
Pulled the trigger on an XO
after watching all the youtube reviews, i decided that the XO looked best.
ordered one this morning.
just a thanks to all the folks responsible for putting the links and testing together in one place for time-challenged guys like me.
btw, i think the transformer is one of the smartest purchases i've made in the last few years. i'm thoroughly enjoying it.
marvin
Following up on my earlier post. Installed the XO skin in my university's clean room(0 dust, yes I wore the cleanroom suit) and it has streaks. The protector quality is very good but once you put it on there are visible streaks all over. I kept the applicator wet so there would not be "burn marks" as specified by the instructions.
Going to ask for a refund... maybe I'll give Zagg another try. My first ZuneHD protector was wonderful but the 2nd one I got had a big line down it(bad QC).
The perfect screen protector
I always have problems applying the screen protectors to any of my devices, so I did some research and decided to go with one made by a company called Aurum. The deciding factor was that it had a large cut out for my camera so its easier to apply. Overall, I am very happy. I got the two pack in case I messed up the first one.
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Eee-Pad-...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1308242480&sr=1-4
I dont think I will ever buy the wet applicator types again, the dry is just simpler and gives me choices in whether I want a clear or the anti-glare. Hope this helps
Here is the link to the anti-glare offered by Aurum in case anyone is interested: http://www.amazon.com/Transformer-M...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311083745&sr=1-1
I usually get Bodyguardz for all my gadgets (mostly phones). It just feels better than Zagg's invisible shield and other screen protectors.
Anyone tried using Bodyguardz? I'm thinking about getting either the full body protector or just the screen protector. Hmmm this is tough.
Following up... after 24 hours drying/curing it looks much more acceptable. The funny part is there is a tiny black spec under the protector. I don't know how it got there since I was in a cleanroom!
Found this one in Amazon, similar to the Aurum with anti-glare.
Anyone has used this ? Is this any good ?

Hmmm... I have previously considered to buy it too, but I've seen the Gorilla Glas Test with the Transformer in a YouTube video... you dont need a screen protector
I just got a screen protector from Photodon. Their MXA film is great. It was a bit of work to put it on with no dust and correctly aligned. But once it's on it looks pretty good. It's got a glossy finish, so it looks just like the original screen. You can hardly tell that there is a screen protector on the transformer. It is pricey at almost $20.00 each, ut the screen is still sharp and crystal clear with none of the haze that a lot of cheap screen protectors have.

I used to have Bodyguards for my HTC Touch Pro and it peeled after three months both times that I used them. Now I use Phantom Skinz and I get no orange peel effect and I've had one on my HTC Evo 4G for almost 1 1/2 years with no peeling and no orange peel effect. Smooth as glass and you can't even tell it's on there.
Now I have Phantom Skinz screen protector on my TF and Phantom Skinz Chromatics white carbon skin for the back side. Very nice to say the least.
I would highly recommend a screen protector for the TF because although it has Cornings Gorilla glass, it sux for finger prints and fingerprints are easier to wipe off of a sceen protector than the Gorilla glass.
im using the steinheil Ultra Crystal. also use it on my phone.
I'm not a fan but want to try another company. I tried Zagg a couple of years ago and it felt like rubber and had orange peel, pulled it off after a day.
In the perfect world I would get one that looks clear, feels like glass and helps with finger prints.
What is your favorite and why?
Thanks
I've tried Zagg and a bunch of others on my Evo 4G. The best one I had was this cheap 99 cent screen protector I got off amazon. Had it on for months with no scratches, and it looked and felt just like glass.

Boxwave Crystal Clear.
The problem is, Boxwave has been really dragging their feet in getting ANY accessories specific to the 3D. They just finally got a rubberized case for it, but that's it. No screen protectors yet.
I ordered the BodyGuardz HD screen protector. These have anti-glare. Got it last night and it has a 'halo' effect. That is where the edges of the protector are not stuck onto the screen. It is not raised where it can easily become unpeeled. I wrote to BodyGuardz and they are sending me replacements that should work properly, which they claim are die-cut. A different manufacturing process that should work better.
Big plus for their customer support! I will post an update when I get them.

I have always used Zagg until I tried XO Skins. I was going to buy a Zagg for my GTablet, but someone posted the XO Skin for it on sale, so I gave it a try. It is somewhat like the Zagg InvisibleShield, but has that glass like feel with no orange or yellowish tint over time. It is a wet application, but when it cures it looks like nothing is even there. They also have a lifetime warranty just like Zagg, so if anything ever happens, you get a free replacement.

I had a Casemate brand protector on my EVO 4G and loved it. Now I have a Clarivue brand on my EVO 3D and love it just as much.
No tacky feeling, no orange peel look, and no adhesive/water required.
Anybody try OEM screen protector that Sprint sells?

For one, if you wanted to spend over $100 you could get a new glass screen and get it installed somehow. As far as getting protection then, I fully recommend it. Gorilla glass is NOT AT ALL as good as they say it is. My phone doesn't come into contact with razor blades and other crap it says it stands up against, but it does come in contact with minor pieces of lint in my pocket which somehow scratched this "impervious" screen...
As far as what type of protector...I didn't like Zagg or Ghost Armor or any of those stupid things. More expensive, more hassle than they're worth. I got I think a Splash Masque screen protector off Amazon or something. Something like that should do the trick. Not too hard to install w/o bubbles and I can't really tell it's there (feels normal, fits just fine).
zagg scratch guards are pathetic to use.
all rubbery feel with no smoothness unless you lube it
overpriced stuff that you cant through off because you overspent kind of feeling ..
get cheap clear screen protectors.. cost $2-5 over ebay for pack of 10 or something
I agree with the other two. Don't get a Zagg. I am currently using one and regret it. When I slide my finger to scroll or to play games, sad enough sometimes my fingers don't slide as smooth as opposed to some other screen protectors. Although I would say that it has saved my screen a couple of times. If your willing to spend the money on a Zagg and idk what your budget is like you could try out the otter box Commuter. Its isn't that bulky in my opinion and has a pretty good screen protector on it, with the bonus of protecting the phone itself.

I can deal with the proximity sensor issue more than I could put up with a scratch in on my screen. Not sure if the zaggs interfere with the proximity sensor or not.

I can't link since I'm a noobie poster. It's slightly spendy at 10.99 but has been great for me so far. Easy to put on with no bubbles, doesn't effect the usability of the screen either. By far the best screen protector I've used when compared to a few I've had on my iPhones.

Don't go the Zagg route.
First the invisible shields are a true PITA to install! (trust me it's a lot harder than a normal screen protector)
Second even if you get it installed correctly it feels rubbery weird.
Just go with the clear screen protector cheapies on eBay, and either a leather holster or a TPU clear case (depending if you pocket or not) and you'll be fine...
Im a huge fan of ghost armor. I like the look and feel of it. Yeah it sucks do pay $20 for the initial screen and service, but its $5 bucks after to replace it forever.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I went with Zagg myself, went in to the local store had them install it for 10 bucks. Just got it replaced, it does have a sort of grip to it on the screen that you have to get use to. Overall all I'm happy with the protection it's given my phone, usually after a couple months I'll start seeing scratches and stuff, I'm a little disappointed that I had to take it in to get the shield replaced today, but it was free save for the installation free so I'd say it was definitely a good investment for my device.
I'm looking at screen protectors right now. I decided to get the Otter Commuter case. Reviews say the included screen protector is terrible. So I'm getting a second one. I've look at a few. Moshin, Skinomi and invisibleSHIELD so far. I'm only getting a screen protector, not a whole-body cover.
I've heard some good reviews about invisibleSHIELD, but many say it gets dirty fairly quick. (Around the edges). Anyone have any first-hand experience? Any other recommendations?
Yes, I used it, and I hate it. With InvisibleShield, the screen doesn't feel as smooth as other screen protectors that I've used (PowerSupport USA, Belkin, Griffin, etc.) It seems to have a sticky feel to it when you're using the screen with IS.
I got a moshin for free from the atnt rep. Prob the easiest and cleanest protector I ever put on. It's antiglare, but has a nice finish.
Ill order two. I'll need to replace one eventually. Thanks.

the Moshi, at least the one I got at ATT, says you can peel it off, wash it and then reattach it to the phone. It even recommends cleaning it by taking it off the phone. I can't wait to see how that really goes...
Between my wife and myself, we've had InvisibleShields on iPhone, Cappy and HTC Aria. Both of us are happy with them. I will agree with a previous poster that they can get a slightly "sticky" feel to them, but I find they are much better, in terms of long term wear and consistency, than either the static or dry adhesive types. They clean up very nicely with LCD screen cleaner and a lint-free cloth.
As of early last week, Zagg didn't have IS available specifically for the ATT version of the SGS2, so I took the advice of a poster on another thread and bought a pair of Int'l SGS2 protectors from ArmorSuit for about 10% the price of the Zagg product (the paraphrased advice was "for wet-applied screen protectors, they are all the same, buy the cheapest one"). To this point they appear extremely similar to the IS, so I may stick with them.
Hope that helps...
I used invisible shield and body gaurdz, out of those 2 I like the body gaurdz the most.

All those "military grade" screen protector feels the same... lol
I've used it on my old iPhones. They are pretty useless, you lose the screen quality and the touch and feel of it.
They don't protect the screen at all, their warranties only cover the plastic not the screen so it's pointless. Only use for the covers is on the back of a phone since they get a lot of surface damage.
I would just get any type of cover and not waste 20+ on name brand military grade protectors.
i used a few different ones on the captivate. but i loved the Invishield one the most. i liked the more rubber texture and it is insanely tough. The same one has been on the phone for 2 years so far and it still looks great.
I hate them. They are crappy and they seem to lower the quality of the image of the screen. I can't stand the feel of them. The best one I've used so far were Realooks. I used that on my Captivate and my wifes HTC. After putting it on, the image quality stays the same and it doesn't look or feel like there is a protector on there. I don't plan on using one for this phone.
Just to add a little bit - no matter what you put over your screen, you are going to impact your image quality some - whether or not it is noticeable to you is a matter of several factors:
a) quality of the screen protector
b) how well it was installed
c) how much damage/scratching/smudging is on the protector
d) how attuned the user is to image quality
Personally, I find wet mount protectors much easier to install in a high quality manner and get less bubbles/loss of clarity compared to dry mount protectors.
This military shield thing I got cheap installed very nicely, and after a day of it being on and the microbubbles working out, I personally notice minimal impact on image quality.
I work at asphalt plants (a very dusty and dirty environment with numerous hazards to phones) so I am uncomfortable with not protecting my screens. I would rather have something damage a $20 (or $2 in my current case) plastic screen protector that is easily replaceable than damage the glass of my $550 device. In fact, I once had the Aria in my pocket when an asphalt sample container I was carrying broke open, spilling 330 degree hot mix asphalt all over my side and into the pocket with the phone. After digging the asphalt out of my pocket along with the phone (yeah, it was toasty and I was in a hurry ) I picked all the rocks and sand off the phone (which was also in a silicone sleeve type case) and cleaned it up with a little of the solvent we use. No permanent damage. I'll stick to screen protectors....
I decided to order the skinomi protectors. I'll see how they are. It is a wet application, so I hope everything goes well.

That is incorrect. Go get a zagg invisibleshield, and then put it on. they go on easy, and in return they degrade easier.
If you live near a mall with a Ghost Armor installation location, GO THERE. Their(as well as zaggs) prices are are steeper than your average 3pack for $12, but they install it for you.
I used invisibleshield/body guardz for 2 years before these guys put them out of business in my local mall. Their material is the same, EXCEPT it is thinner and MUCH MUCH MUCH more natural feeling. It does not feel grippy, and it is still extremely protective. The only thing is that your screen will look like crap for about a day. after that day, it should clear up and you'll hardly even notice the orange peel effect that zagg's have so much of.
I will recommend these guys for my screen protection any day.
I just ordered an invisible shield for my gs2. Should be arriving with my case mate pop case....everyone has their own opinions but I've always been happy with zagg products

In my experience very overpriced, and it gives the orange peel effect.
I guess they do actually work if you dont mind compromising screen clarity/image quality.

You are talking about Ghost armor right?

I picked up a cheap anti glare protector from ebay 4 for $4 lol quality is great. Easy to install. I just dont see why spend so much $$ when ther are cheaper options x)

I have used iShield before on my iPhone; but prefer the hard screen shields as they are less "sticky" for swiping with the fingers like the one that came with the TPU case for my SGS2. I find that the soft ones with the solution spray is more sticky for some reason maybe for grip as some do wrap the whole phone with iShield.
Trying to find a decent screen protector and want peoples personal experiences with theirs. I don't care so much about smudges, mostly just want something that doesn't effect the quality of the Notes image.
Really depending on case requirements the glas.t is probably the best I've seen yet.
Meaning, most aluminum bumpers don't play nice with it.

I use a cheap plastic tpu(?) case, like soft gel etc. Found it on here for like 10$ lol but it's actually great. No aluminum or anything like that. It leaves a nice ridge around the screen and figure it should be fine with most screen protectors.
+1 for spiegen glast, best screen protector I have ever owned.
SGP Glass.t is excellent. Cheaper option is the SGP Oleophobic which is also excellent.
glas.t ... Just look at all the posts on it ...
Yet another +1 for the glas.t
I had a plastic traditional screen protector on before it, and it really affected the feel of the s-pen. The glas.t, however, feels like it isn't there.

hate to tell you guys, but the Moshi screen protetor, blows away the glass T...easiest to apply, even has a template to make installation perfect every time, and, there are NO SMUDGES, and NO SCREEN DISCOLRATION, EVER!
I've had every SP known to man, and this one is the absolute best; its 25 dollars at ATT stores, and you won't regret it...
And yes, 25 dollars is crazy for a SP, buts it less than what the Glass T costs..
And, finally, you get 30 days to try anything from ATT; if you don't agree that the Moshi is awe sum, just return it within 30 days and get your $$ back..

I've had the moshi I dislike the feel of it completely. Whilst the Glas.t keeps the screen feeling as if nothing was there.
i guess the fact that my fingers are so chewed up and calloused from years of hard work/abusing them, I can't really tell much difference, except I know the Zagg stuff feels horrible on any device...
The moshi feels just fine to me, but, to each his own!

have the moshi and hate it. distorts the quality of the screen. my old htc tilt2 with a zagg / bodyguardz film looked better (side by side comparison).
I like that the moshi is removable and washable - but that's where my love for it stops. this device has a beautiful screen, it's an injustice to cover it with a moshi. i'm past the 30 days and sorta stuck with it, but wish I had gone with glas.t instead.
it's almost as silly as the people that leave protective film on devices when they first get them.

yeah, I agree the screen is the best with nothing on it, but I drop my phone often, and need to protect it from me!
I guess my eyesight isn't what it used to be, because I see absolutely no distortion with the Moshi...
I have the SGP Oleophobic. It feels great and looks clean. I had the Glas.T too. That was a good protector, but i got some dust in during the install and ended up replacing it with the Oleo.
Anyone have any experience with privacy screen protectors such as this:

I used Zagg before and had issues with install and s-pen...I always used Gadget Guard before and I love it...try it out it has a lifetime warranty so if you hate it you can always take it off ask for a replacement and sell the new one...

I've always used zagg on my devices and have been very happy. They hold up great and I do not notice any unpleasant feeling with them (that being said, between guitar and building engines my fingers might as well have a coat of epoxy on them, very callous and non sensitive). Zaggs have a strange orange peel look to them when viewed at an angle, but this has never been visible when viewing the device straight on so its never been a problem for me. I've had two of them that I wore out on other devices, and zagg replaced both for free, which was nice for resale value of the devices. Oh, and no problems with the spen so far other than the hardest one to fix, my drawing skills are terrible.
Tf101 megatron 1.1.6 guevor 22 @ 1.5
Steinheil
I put on a Steinheil Ultra Crystal. It went on perfectly and fits the screen so well that I cannot tell that it is on the phone.
And the pen does not scratch the surface. :good:
