Ever since I bought this phone the data speeds are real slow. When will duel core kick in. I rather a single core EVO 4g. These phones are getting worse and worst as there released.

You can return the phone if you like, I find the phone very fast.
In before the flames!
First, dual core has nothing to do with 3G speeds. The speed of the phone is much faster than 3G so you need to look into speeding up your 3G service. Do a search: there are multiple threads on speeding up 3G.

I hope you are ready for some harsh responses. The duel core is crazy fast....and has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DATA SPEEDS. The duel core won't make you 3g any faster...or slower....same with 4g, wifi, 2g, 1.5g, 1. .5, and yourGs.....
Can u supply a link to speeding up 3g please? Thanks for help

The cores have nothing to do with the download speed. It is know that some (most?) EVO3D's have ****ed up ****ty radios and terrible data speeds.
Wait dual core = moAr GGGGGG's???

Best explanation: You can have a desktop computer with quad core CPU overclocked at 6Ghz on a dial up connection, those 4 cores at 6 aren't going to make your dial up connection to the internet any faster.

Class 4 is standard, you won't see a boost from that.
If the apps load real slow either you have a lemon/bad phone, or you have uberhigh expectations. My apps load faster than I can blink.
If you have a task killer actively killing task that will slow down load time as well.

Note that ^^ that number is an average out of 10 tests. I know these tests arent very accurate, but theres a big difference between 760 and 56
The reason I am posting this here was because this app is buried very deep in an old thread, and located nowhere else. So the only way people would find it would be if they knew it was there.
I'll start off by saying that there is much speculation as to whether or not this app actually works (even by the developer). However, it poses no threat to your phone either way.
I decided to post it because I used it for the first time and it seems to have worked for me in avoiding being throttled.
It's a very simple process:
1. Install the app.
2. Immediately open the app and press "reset throttle"
3. Reboot
4. Hope you dont get throttled!
*i would recommend doing this at the BEGINNING of every pay cycle*
It's been said that this should be done BEFORE being throttled, so I do it at the beginning of every pay cycle as a preemptive strike. I've had it on my phone for about 4 months, but have never used 5gb, so I had no idea if it would work.
This month was the first time I've gone over the 5gb limit since downloading this app. I received the "you've been throttled" text message, but my speeds havnt slowed.
Anyways, thats about it. Remember, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK, BUT THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO HARM IN TRYING. I was skeptical, but I finally got results so I wanted to share with everyone.
UPDATE 09/13/11: So based on feedback from members in this thread, and the fact that I have been throttled the last two months in a row while ussing this app...i think its safe to say that this is not a method to avoid throttling. As you can see above from my screenshots, i had good reason to believe that it was, however I guess I mustve gotten lucky that month and dodged the throttle bullet.
I will leave this thread open, with the download link, just in case any developers ever feel like messing with it to see if they can get something going. Until then, happy data-ing, and down with throttling!
Download: http://db.tt/tXxhobt
Post feedback if it helps or not.
Sent from my pocket rocket!!
Rarely do you get throttled right away.especially if you have been with tmo for a long time, they throttle you at 10 gbs. there is no way or if throttling unfortunately. I didn't get throttled until 10 gb.

Excellent find TS
Guys, i said it twice in the OP.....theres no guarantee it will work. if youre skeptical, hit the back button on your browser.
just remember, i didnt just dig this app out and post it before seeing if it worked.
it happened to work for me. if i find a solution to being throttled, youre damn right im gonna post it for everyone to try......because the whole throttling/"unlimited data" is horse****
will it always work for me? i dont know. will it work for everyone else? i dont know. should people who have throttle problems try a possible solution, especially if its harmless and could work? absolutely.
updated OP with screenshots, to prove that it worked for me
Thanks for the info. I'm going to try this out and will report if it works 4 me. Worth a shot if it can't hurt

Okay.......you can look up "Idiot" in the dictionary and you'll find my picture.
TMO throttled me back when I hit 5.03gb. And I didn't even realize that was what happened. I tried everything to speed things up again but nothing worked. So then I just figured it was really busy on the internet. I then check my account and saw the red letters. Anyways......I downloaded the app and proceeded as instructed. The first thing I did was a speed test. Results = 72.3 Kbps. I do not care what anyone says.....IT DOES NOT WORK!
I'm just bored and interested in seeing what kind of speeds you guys get.
I'm in Albuquerque, NM.
4g-average about 3mb/s down and 4mb/s with a ping around 100
3g- Average around .7 mb/s down and .8 mb/s up with a ping around 140....
So post your stats, lets see where 4g is really fast
new 4g city here... been testing for a month, finally official on the 17th.. still crappy speeds

I'm in El Paso TX. I drive around all day throughout the whole city. In my house my DL is about 8.5mb .Around my in laws its pretty solid 20mb dl. Throughtout the majority of the city its about 13mb dl. I never pay much attention to up load though.
But these are also realistic speeds cuz I download roms, apps, and torrents on my REZ all the time and speeds are pretty consistent to where I'm at. Example. In my house it takes less then 10 min for 500mb of data. At my in-laws its under 5min.for the same size.

I just tried out the Speedtest.net app for the heck of it. I'm in a 4G extended network in north San Diego yet for some reason, the app said "Woodland Park, CO" was the best server. It didn't even let me select a CA server(didn't show any in the list for that matter.
Anyway, I just tested 4G and it showed:
12.75Mbps DOWN, 3.59Mbps UP, 109ms PING
----------------
Switched apps to the 'FCC Mobile Broadband Test' and this one allowed me to select a server in Los Angeles, CA. This time the results are different:
23.68Mbps DOWN, 4.01Mbps UP, 80ms PING
Yeah, beat my 4G upload! (without Photoshop lol)
For some reason, on 4G it likes to freeze the app right at 49% complete on the upload part. Exited out of the app, went back in and saw that lol.

Hi there,
I have HOX+ since 3 weeks or so, and I'm really disappointed with it.
It promises you the best processor nowadays to play games, but well... No game runs smooth, either Tegra Zone, and most of Gameloft games are incompatible with our devices.
I've been talking today with HTC spanish chat Service and the girl, told me the problem was that I have 53 applications installed and 730MB of used RAM,
Sorry but... What the **** do you want me to have in a 64GB storage device?
He tells me the problem is about the free RAM memory but well... there's nothing we can do to fix that, it's their problem!
No one answers at @HTC, either @HTC_Spain, and the girl of the Chat support seems to be a ****ing bot who can't fix real problems.

I'm in the same situation as you, the gaming problems are to do with the way the cpu and gpu are managed, some people got lucky and don't have this problem , me , you and many others weren't so lucky . Oh, and its definitely not the RAM.
I am pretty sure this will be fixed also from HTC
Most games I played and tested runs smooth after custom kernel and rom

The best processor & gpu now is the Snapdragon S4 Pro + Adreno 320, not the Tegra3.
Even the dual core S4 + Adreno 225 is as good as the Tegra3 at gaming, if not slightly better at times.

Well - I have now experiences using CM9/10 both on the HOV and the HOX+
and I can NOT notice much difference in battery life compared to stock
on either one of these devices.

Hi there,
I have HOX+ since 3 weeks or so, and I'm really disappointed with it.
Very bad HTC, it will be my last HTC ever

That's crap what htc say is not down to ram or how many apps you have installed its the way htc make the phones and sense. I have 212 apps on my note 2 and I get no slow down
I use to love htc years ago but they went downhill and I've not touched them since

I wonder if it will ship with Gingerbread...
I'm done with LG, I know AT&T probably has more to do with the update not coming out, but I gave them a chance and that's it for me. I will give my son this phone and take his upgrade and follow this forum to flash a little here and there for him. This is utter nonsense not to even have a stock 4.1.2 yet. And yet they keep rolling out devices. Total BS!! and before anyone says we do have 4.1.2 , I Know, but the premise of this rant is that devs could make better and more stable builds off of a stock release. Rant off.
Agreed. This phone is getting treated like garbage for no reason. At this rate, people on contract will have jellybean on this phone for maybe just a year, that's if we ever get an official release (not including snowjb, which I'm using now). I've never liked at&t.

Quit *****ing and convert your phone to a nexus 4 and you will be running the latest and greatest OS. There is nothing wrong with this phone

What I can probably guarantee you is that whatever OS it ships with will be what it dies with...at least as far as AT&T updates go.

As much as I want to try the nexus 4 ROMs, I'm not convinced the conversion is safe for the phone in the long run. There's nothing wrong with this phone as it is, but at&t has a track record of sweeping good phones under the rug.

We shouldn't HAVE to..... That's the issue
While I'm not for or against it since I feel what people do with their phones is their business, I do feel like we shouldn't have to turn our phone into another phone in order to make the best of it. We bought the OG because we wanted an OG (at least most of us).
I feel like the N4 conversion is more of a bandaid that's just covering the real issue.
Basically, step up your game LG/AT&T/whoever the hell else is responsible for us being on old software with a brand new phone

No one's *****ing here dude. As Murasakiii has stated N4 is not my cup of tea at this point. It's a "Great" device that's being treated like garbage.

Where's that because all I read is lte issues, etc. I'd like to know because if it is indeed bug free and good for a daily driver (I use my phone a lot for work and rely on local LTE), id like to flash it. Currently on snowjb

The only thing is GPS. You can flash a nexus modem but you will at some point lose connection and can't get data or phonecalls and it eventually will reconnect. Or you can keep your optimus g modem but you won't have satellite GPS lock.

So, answer to my question of is everything 100% is no.
Anyways, we are all here on XDA because we are not satisfied with stock to begin with. Right?

In that case I've yet to hit the "some point." However, I've been running the CM10.1 rom for the conversion with the custom faux kernel in an entirely LTE area, and have gone without a single dropped call, random reboot, lost gps, or anything for multiple weeks now (2 or 3 I think?). I'm normally a flashaholic, but this is more of a daily driver for me than snowjb was (with the random reboots).
I think T mobile are doing what they did with the G2X. The g2X is the cousin of the Optimus 2X. Only different was the partition layout. It seems on this one they are doing a complete overhaul, with the LGOG.

Same here. GPS works fine for me on the Nexus 4 conversion, using dvhexer's ROM.
On topic: The specs are amazing, but that SoC will probably set your hand on fire while playing intensive games. This phone is great, it's a shame to see it being pushed away so quick.
