anyone have success using the ADK with the atrix after the phone has been flashed to 2.3.4? just curious
If you're referring to the SDK then yes. It works perfect for me. I actually have to use it because I can't get my phone to mount properly to USB storage.

I've tested apps in the development kit on the HKTW version before. I have not tried since I switched to Ken's 4.5.91 build, but I assume it will work too.

Do you mean the Accessory Development Kit or the SDK?
I haven't been able to get the ADK's demoKit app to deploy successfully after I upgraded my Atrix to 2.3.4.
Keep getting the following error
Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY

Just purchased my 1st Android phone and am getting used to everything. Without sounding like a broken record and having spent some time on the forum, can I please be directed to or have answered how to root an Atrix 4.1.83 v2.2.2 without flashing back?
Does it make sense to wait for Gingerbread to come out or does it make sense to unlock the boot now?
Any input greatly appreciated.

Look for Gingerbreak in dev section to root.
I would unlock and flash Kenneth Penn's 4.5.91. The Moto release in SOAK will stop you flashing back if you want to.

If you wait and get an update from Motorola and you have your artix rooted on 2.2. How should one proceed? Does one just update and then re-root after that?
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if I HAD to flash back in order to gain root. As much as I don't like the motoblur bloat, a few items are handy. Any ROMs to look at?

When I was running 1.83, I used a method from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138204
Check out the third post in that thread. You'll need ADB to get it done, but if you don't have ADB installed you may as well do that.
ROM-wise, I'm using CherryBlur, which is a modified version of the latest 2.3.4 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160649
And I think it's great. The original HKTW 2.3.4 beta leak had a lot of bugs, many of which have been corrected by community updates and hacks, but Kenneth's 2.3.4 seems to be pretty clean so far. As to whether it's worth waiting for the official release, well... I think it's worth modding your phone just for kicks, and to gain a better understanding of how it works.
Thanks Obscene! Now all I have to do is find the time. In theory; to get bothyour methods done - how long should I expect barring no issues?

A user posted a fantastic MB860 AVD on the Developer forums @
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983116
I originally assumed (stupidly) that to update this to 2.3, all you would need to do is unpack the latest SBF and replace the image files. Forgetting that the phones nor the world works that way, I thought I'd ask if anyone had ideas on making an update of the MB860 AVD to 2.3.
Thank you!
These are published by Motorola. I downloaded the new one a few days after the OTA came out.

Edit: I should note that I haven't gotten a 2.3 MB860 AVD to boot. It just bootloops. The 2.2 MB860 AVD works great for me though.
You're a beautiful human being. Thanks!

It seems every other ROM I use has a market issue, even on stock 2.3.4 its telling me I have no apps on my account. Anyone else having these issues? Has anyone found a solution?

Eclipse 1.3 it works fine for me, but if I go back to stock 2.3.4 it shows no apps plus it won't update them either but will show them as installed.

Mine did this at first on eclipse 1.3 but after a week or 2 they finally started to show up.

Same exact prob here. When I contacted google they said I must be running a custom rom. Thing is it works fine with eclipse. My stock moto rom is when it doesn't work the prob.

I have had this issue for 4 months. Back and forth with Google "support", they are trying to blame it on root access. Basically, no fix. I finally installed Eclipse because I was tired of using a combination of ChangeLogDroid and Appbrain to get updates.
Eclipse fixes it. I think the original issue was caused by Titanium Backup messing up the Market DB.
The real problem is once the damage is done even if you're on a non-rooted stock rom it stays broken. While going back and forth with Google support I SBF'd back to stock and it still didn't fix anything.

I did use titanium backup before it happened. Is it messing something up on the phone or Google servers? After a sbf everything should be stock. Right? Seems like a server or account issue. I created another google account and it works fine. I really just want to go back to stock but can't. Very frustrating!

Anyone tried installing market 3.4.4?
It's in our themes/apps section
No problems at all for me on that version
Also.
It isn't just the x2 with this problem.
This is all over xda all types of devices
I tried to do the market fix. It didn't help.

3.4.4 is the only one giving me a problem. If I install another version it just automatically updates itself back to 3.4.4

Has anyone had luck installing Ubuntu on their I777?
I'm using the stock ROM that came from Rogers (canada telecom), and I've tried two different guides for installing ubuntu, neither of which have had any success.
The phone is rooted, but I'm assuming this is my stock ROM preventing me from doing things Rogers doesn't want me to do. I'm planning on switching to Cyanogen, but I figured I might as well just wait for stable cyanogen 9 instead of struggling to get 7.1 working.
you need a custom kernel like entropy and or siyha or whatever is called

I think you're in the wrong forums, I believe you want the skyrockets forum
Edit: unless I'm wrong there wasn't a rogers version of our phone, just a version of the skyrocket

I posted a guide about how to do this... it's really easy actually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517178
cheers.
This actually works on every Galaxy branded phone I've tried (as well as any android phone), as long as the file system is set up the same way... (with /sdcard being the internal and /sdcard/external_sd being the external SD.
Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place (sorry I'm new!) but I have a Motorola Flipside MB508 and I cannot get it to root! I downloaded the z4 rooting app and the androot app but neither seems to work. Is there something else I need to do or download cause I desperately need to get my phone rooted. Thanks!
See here. I found it in the Motorola Flipside forum.
Having owned a Motorola Flipside, you can use SuperOneClick. Make sure to flash CM7 because if you don't it's a crap device even with bloat removed.
