Anyone finding gingerbread on ace laggy in screen transitions and popups? Try scrolling through your widgets for example.
I've recently installed the chainfire 3d driver and everything is so damn smooth now even though it's meant for 1 ghz devices. Anyone can try doing the same and see if it does make a difference? I feel a difference.

Which version have you used...can you specify
you can try the free version first. The Pro is just for a per app basis settings.
I used the latest market version. I noticed the difference is response and animation smoothness after installing the driver. But I enabled crt at around the same time so that may possibly be it too. But I think it's chainfire driver.
XDA ♥
I noticed that too but, if you "enable" the crt animation you will see how fast the animations will be, no more laggy, and even if the lock crt animation doesn't work, the phone animations like scrolling the widgets list will work better.
Search for the boot animation + crt under Themes and Apps and edit the build.prop
Here, read the How to enable the crt animation

Then that's it, adding hexes solved lags. Simple and easy. check out the link!

crt is only for code roms..what about the stock ones
Hmm? KPH rom works too isn't it? Just open root explorer, go to build.prop and add a hex (#) in front of debug.sf.hw=1
You'll be able to find it.
Edit: yeah realised it's for coderom and deodexed kph. Please read original thread posts too!

By "Gingerbread" you mean "Gingerbread launcher" ? :/
Cause I've been using LauncherPro for quite a long time now and for me, the scrolling is fine. No lags.

I was just wondering since I have never seen this around here before if it is at all even possible to change the regualr zoom in zoom out transitions with a fade in n out one like HTC or adw launcher. That would look a hell of a lot more proffesional on these phones and doesnt it use slightly less resources as well? Would be neeaatttt.

Sure just download a launcher that has that option.
But I mean throughput the whole phone. I want to replace the zoom in and out with a fade.
I don't think I've seen an app that changes that transition throughout the whole system, but check out all the different ROMs. One may have an option for it.
There has been apps like jrummy's toolbox I believe that can change animations for the whole system. Search in market there is a free one but none that I know of with simple fade in n out.
You can check this out and see if it works for the Droid X2:

ROM Toolbox isn't compatible with oir phones iirc.
Sent from my Eclipsed and ICS themed X2.
Doesn't mean it doesn't work.
I believe I did it once on this phone when I first got it.
UOT Kitchen works wonders guys.
There is a tab in uot kitchen specifically for transitions. I've used the ics transitions from them and it works great.
Also jeffmeister is right about certain launcher apps having the option to change transitions. ADW gives you the option and I believe several others do as well.

When switching pages on the app drawer and home screen, I notice horrible lag compared to the buttery smooth stock launcher. Is anyone else having this problem?

Install the super script with dags of kernal v2 and you won't notice the lag any more. Hopefully this helps.
Launcher pro and tsf shell are extremely smooth. I've read superscript doesn't do much to some people... idk for sure.
Where do you get super script?

What are some of your ADW desktop scrolling speed & bounce settings? Or do you leave it stock.
nope i use adw on emily and is smokin fast!!
disable the text display in app drawer then see it flies.
Sent from my AT&T Galaxy Note™ - please forgive any typos
Go to GENERAL BEHAVIOR >SYSTEM PREFERENCES make sure to disable scrolling cache "DISABLE CACHE" that will help scroll fast on adw ex.. and nake sure your "PRESETS" are set to "FAST" . believe me this launcher is blazing fast on my phone ...help this works.. let us know ok...

TRansition effect NORNAL SCROLL and Set to the lowest values for bounce effect..it will disable bounce effect off,I believe you don't need any more animations as that will cause it less performance and more lag!
I find on stock note if you use a launcher and use crazy/high graphic transitions it will lag. Keep it simple and they don't. Unless you overclock.
Using GOlauncherEX myself. Stock...lag here and there.

I use Go launcher ALL THE TIME. I have zero lag...in fact it is running absolutly the best it has yet on ics as opposed to GB...on GB i couldn't have widgets on home it was so bad.
My settings are
screen settings are custom and i set them to speed 25 and elastic to 55
don't know if this will help too but i use homescreen transition is cylinder
app drawer enter is zoom and exit is sphere
try that...works for me after many hours of fiddling..lol
Helly guys, I have found some new feature in ICS that would benefit all of us.
Go to Settings > Developer option > backgroud process limit and set to 4 process limit at most. After set this I got 30mb extra free ram and find that my phone become even more snappier. After doing this repeatly, I can conform that it does. You have to set this after every reboot if the setting does not stick.
After flashing JJHybrid from using stock rom I felt the phone was buttery smooth, but on certain occasions for example when opening app drawer and toggling between apps the transition would stutter just a tiny bit. After playing with some setting, I get this smoothness.
Problem is solved if you go into Settings > developer options > and Window animation scale and Transition Animation scale > change both of those to 0.5x (or 0 for both, for instant reactions). The phone now runs like a beast it was born to be. Like you first get this phone like on GB.
Also change your launcher to Holo Launcher HD (or find this on Play Store) instead of trebuchet launcher. This launcher is based on Jelly Bean launcher source code that give you real smoothness like on Jelly Bean. Try it yourself.
Give your feedback and if you find that this post may help you, hit thank button.

Hello, as the title states the One is my first HTC phone, I technically had the HTC One X+, but only for about 12 hours before my son accidentally dropped it down the stairs. Other than that I have had all Samsung phones. I am loving the One and its working great so far, however there are two things that I am trying to change and have had no luck so far. First off I have tried multiple ROMs but I am currently running Android Revolution 10.1 with no mods other than what comes with the ROM. The two issue I am having are
1) The stock status bar transition from the solid grey to transparent, there is a noticeable delay when exiting an application and returning to the home screen where it takes a few seconds for the status bar to change from the solid grey to the transparent of the home/lock screen, also when unlocking the phone the status bar blinks from transparent to grey and then back, I was wondering if there was a way to make this change instant, or at least make it the solid grey all the time. I have done extensive searching in both the AT&T forums and the international ones, the only threads I could find are http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297043 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291078 and I tried them both but with no luck, the first one just makes it black when it would normally be transparent and the second one I couldn't get to do anything. If someone could point me in the right direction here I would greatly appreciate it.
2) Is there any way to add app closing animations to a ROM? It seems with Sense when exiting an application it just closes back to the home screen with no animation at all, and that kind of kills the smoothness of the phone for me.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
try trickdroid it has a tweaks and themes package. one of the options is to choose animations

I tried that one and flashed the mods package and couldn't find the option anywhere, from what I understand from reading the forum, since v6 and the update to 4.2.2 a lot of the mods are not compatible and have been removed from the mods package until they are.

yes but themes and tweaks have been updated. idk how much has been implemented but i was running 7.0 and it had the animations
The status bar is like that because of the transparency feature, it did it on some of the aosp Roms I used on my old gs2sr. And I would like some good transitions to/from apps. I agree that it makes opening and closing apps seem smoother.

I flashed 7.0 along with the tweaks and themes packages, but my app open/close animations do not change, I have tried all the animations in the installer, but not matter what I choose the animations stay the same.
One way to get a solid notification bar is to install a 3rd party launcher like Nova/Apex/etc. That will make it solid at all times (the lockscreen will remain transparent unless you use something like Widgetlocker or holo locker), plus give you more customization options (like editing icons, text labels, animations, etc.). Seems like that's what you're looking for to answer your concerns.

Yeah that's a great suggestion, I just tried it and not only does it make the status bar solid but also adds animations to the closing of apps. Only issue I can see is none of the third party launchers allow the adding of the stock widgets yet, but I'm sure that will be sorted out in time. Thank you so much!

Is there any way to make the opening transition for apps smoother?
LG has the speed set so fast it makes the animations choppy .-.
Changing the settings in developer options only helps the animation when closing an app, not opening.

Try overclocking, changing the animation framework, or changing the animation speeds? Not quite sure what you're asking. If you're talking about launching an app from the launcher, the LG Home app launches ridiculously quick and it not as fluid as it should be. Try Nova (I know it's unoriginal, sorry)

I've tried using several different launchers, editing the framework with the framework changer on Google play, and looking for build.pro tweaks
I'm not sure if maybe I'm missing something, but none of these things make it as fluid as stock jellybean would be.
However if you've ever noticed, when you open settings from the home screen it opens as it should, fluildly.
Its not a life changing issue it's just annoying and sometimes makes the phone feel unoptimized.

Here in developer options, going higher is slower and smoother, going lower makes it fast and instant.

Have you tried MIUI, that has nice smooth transitions throughout the OS. Not too fast and not too slow.
