Hi !
Everything is in the title
I'm looking for SE stock apps to use them as replacement for SMS/dialer/contact, because I don't like the ones built in CM6/7. So, is there anyone who have managed to use them with CM7 ?
Thanks you in advance
BTW : The stock 4 corners launcher would be nice too
(Or maybe we should wait for the next x10 mini/pro and get the new rom to butcher it and port it to our phone :/)
I am looking for it too please
T9
Can't help you on the stock progs, but, take a look at Go SMS Pro and TouchPal Dialer. I found them way better than both CM and stock dialers/sms

Indeed, Touchpad dialer is fine, even if the fonts are very small :-/
Go Sms seems good too, not totally at my taste, because again of the fonts' size, but it would do the job

Well.. small screen - small fonts
Have you figured what to do with with the in-call screen? When I use in-call dialpad (to browse throught voice menus) the bottom rows (7890) are hidden ...
I use external keyboard for that..
Any ideas?
Thanks
Not a clue :-S, sorry

About that, we know now why SE did choose the four corners ui xD ... To gain some place for things like a dialer :-S

I modded the xperia arc launcher abit. I liked the original launcher but didn't like the look of the folders.
It has a working dockbar (visible).
See screenshots for demo (XperiaArcMod.apk).
Install:
Copy to SD
Uninstall previous arc launcher. (if you have installed it)
Install from phone.
Two more mods uploaded, Both have the regular homekey (I personally think it's ugly, but here you go). One has a visible dockbar, the other invisible. (neither of these two have been tested but they should work, if not i'll fix it ASAP)
Thanks for this one, working fine on floyo4, wondering however is there's any way to configure the number of pages one can have.
There is, unfortunatly it has to be done by decompiling it and changing the xml. You can try the two new ones just uploaded. I have not tried them myself but they should work.
Thanks but for me, they both just force close, no biggie, I'll just use a couple empty tabs
Sent from my x10 Mini Pro
Force close here too, only the first one is working. And would be good if anyone can fix the screen rotation
Thanks
Using this but I haved moded it about..
Changed the dock to transparent and took another appdr. Button instead of the iphone

I just got my galaxy s 2 today n beim using it fr a few hours. Came from the nexus one n im missing pure android feel to apps.
I also cant seem to figure out how to get the dictionary working on the samsung keyboard or swype n i seem to miss the old keyboard layout too.
Is it just a simple case of finding the apk n installing it?

Gingerbread keyboard:
Search for "Keyboard from Android 2.3" in the Market.
is it reliable though? do you know from where i can get the actual one?the official one?
Sorry can't test it, my S2 is still on its way :-(
But I read about it and afaik it's ok.
I don't know if there is an "official" gingerbread keyboard for the S2, I think the one in the market is the best you can get.
Don't sue me if it's not true - This is just based on my little research
I have the CM7 keyboard as I much prefer it thanks to the long press delay option that the normal 2.3 KB does not have.
Just pull the apk from the CM7 ROM zip and install using the SGS file manager, simples

found it..but ended up using the Keyboard for Android 2.3 from the market because the keys in that are bigger!
Do you find that you don't get the dictionary come up in the email program though? It works in Handcent SMS, but not in email for me... (when using the market GB Keyboard I mean)

Hi
I don't think it is an official version rather it should be a mod version. I am using it for the last one week from the time i had S II and it works fine for me.

I installed the CM7 KB but I can't get the haptic feedback to work.
How did you manage this?
when i installed the CM7 keyboard, when i switch to landscape it cuts off the area where you would normally see the typed words, this is not good.
any way to shrink down the size, or get rid of the line with the extra characters?
after installation of Swiftdroid 2.0 4M, the dialer application does not have T9 support so the calling is bit harder, i tried to install glass dialer i found here, installed it with recovery (the newest clockwork that came with the installation), it says its successful but when i restart i have the old dialer. Is this glass dialer not compatible with swiftdroid or there is problem with the clockwork? or any suggestion for good T9 dialer?
if you want a new dialer app download go contacts its a great app
Id like to have the dialer that was in Gt540 2.1 version if anyone could share it here ill be grateful, or if someone can tell me how to install the glass dialer, coz more of those custom applications are ether too colorful or slow, or just add t9 support to the one that is integrated in cm7 swiftdroid 2.0
I do too like 2.1 dialer and contacts search box, im testing quite of few , also i found a tutorial that explains how to modify themes and apps. I'll come up with something usefull i feel like working on that today.

Guys,
I Really need a stable, minimal, fast launcher & dialer combo for my streak.
My trusty Go launcher+dialer are creating a mess for past two weeks!:crying:
I am expecting a few interview calls soon!
I really dont want my dear streaky to let me down by goofing up!
I am on DSC 1.3
Rest all apps run fine.
It just goes so nuts with the Go Dialer/Launcher screens! :grrrr:
Thank you folks!

I use exDialer from Market. Good App with nice UI (themes) and T9 support.
Contactmanagement is also included. You can find it in the market.
As launcher I use ssLauncher.

Tried the exdialer - but - it lags a lott! Does it run fine with you?
ssLauncher - hmmm
Is it smoother than Holo launcher? - I am using it now- its very lightweight.
Thanks,
Sony.
Hi,
ExDialer works fine for me. I use it since a half year. Only problem: clearing missed calls, but you can fix it in the settings.
I didn't use Holo-Launcher since now, so I can't say if ssLauncher is smoother. What I like is that ssLauncher is highly customizable.
An other dialer suggestion is dw contacts & dialer. Looks not so good (in my opinion), but has a lot of features (especialy the Pro-version).
Hope I could help.

I did try it - twice!
But- it was one of the 5 things I uninstalled - when I was having really terrible battery life! ( and now - battery life is much better! )

I am still using Holo-Launcher.
still not tried ssLauncher - but when I do get tired/bored of the Holo - this one I will try - thanks!

I was also thinking - don't we have flashable phone apks or zips?
that way - we will not keep switching between "installed" dialer and the "default" calling screen + dialer also!
Is it not so easy - or is there some catch?
for e.g. in my DSC 1.4 ROM - I wish the stock dialer was ICS stock ( with T9 support )- I wouldn't need another dialer then!
Any pointers?
Cheers!
Sony.
I've got a htc sensation which I rooted a while back, and have been using virtuous inquisition since then. Since that rom was sense based, I've been using the sense keyboard and liked how i could have it in a phone keypad layout. This one was modded too to have arrows for moving the cursor around which was great since tapping the screen in exactly the right place is a real pain in the arse.
Thing is I've now recently changed to cm10 which isn't sense based, so the sense keyboard has gone. The standard keyboard only has the full keyboard layout, so the buttons are too small for me.
Apparently you can't make the sense keyboard work with it, so I've tried go launcher's keyboard, multilang and a few other free ones, but none of them are perfect. Can anyone recommend a decent keyboard to me which will work as I want?
Perfect keyboard. First app I download when I flash a new rom, highly customizable.
SwiftKey. I believe it's still on sale, but there is a free trial.
Best keyboard ever.

+1 bought it, very nice, using it without correctionstuff, i´m an oldschoolwriter a lot of customizations as mentioned
Just tried perfect keyboard and yeah it seems nice. I've got my desired layout and cursors, and the dictionary works well enough to be used without fuss. Can I make it so that it doesn't suggest words longer than what I've typed? For example if I type aunt it suggests words more than four letters long, like cumulative. Any way of making it stick to the correct number of letters?

SwiftKey. I've been using it for a while, and even when I'm not typing English -with English being the only dictionary installed) it still offers me corrections (although they're not automatically selected, which is good).
It literally learns how you type.
Right, I've tried SwiftKey, a.i.type and jellybean keyboards and none of them appear to let me choose the layout that I want.
That perfect keyboard seems alright, but how can I stop it suggesting words longer than what I typed?

Yes. I have never used predictive text/spelling as I hate it so know naff all about it.
To be honest I think its a crap suggestion because the whole idea of predictive is to help you place long words by only typing a few letters so it will never work the way you want.
For me smart-keyboard is perfect. You can use ready made skins or create your own quite easyly.
