Anyone know if the 3D has different LCD manufactures, like the EVO 4G (EPSON/NOVATEC) ?
I ask b/c i just replaced my phone due to it randomly freezing and the new one seems different. Maybe its just me, but the first one i had seemed like it had brighter whites.
both phones are HW002.
Thanks!
I'll check my dads and my girls E3D's to see if I notice any difference. I'll post back soon.

cool, thanks,, im very curious.. i hate it when i start doubting my own eyes lol.
My 3vo has a noticeably purer white display than my wife's. They are both from the sprint pre sale. Hers looks like a warmer color temp than mine.

I effen knew it.. darn it LOL.. i knew something was up.. i prefer the brighter white!
I picked the brighter white before I activated them. Interestingly when I compared to my Evo 4G the 4G looks red! Flipz, of Fresh Rom fame mentioned that the color temp was warmer on his 3vo in his review compared to his 4G. Pretty strange.

can you post up a picture with auto brightness vs max brightness with both phones side by side for me?
really appreciate it.
Thank you,.
Big difference on my phone between 50% and max brightness. The whites are dingy at 50% and brilliant at 100%.
I did notice the same thing.. what bothers me is that at auto or anything less than 100%, my previous evo3d looked as white as my current evo prob @ 80%.
this to me literally will equate to battery life.
bump... if someone who has multiple EVO3d's can post up the screen differences, i would greatly appreciate it.
I assume you mean both 3vo's side by side. Unfortunately my wife works the opposite shift so hers isn't here.

yeah. just like with cars. if you have pop up headlights its automatically 10x's cooler+faster then anything else.
Or, despite the lower pixel density, some people actually think the GNex has a better screen.
You know, just takin' a shot in the dark here.

Doesn't the Galaxy S II have a better screen?
Galaxy S II = Super AMOLED Plus
Galaxy Nexus = Super AMOLED .... No "Plus".
Hmmm...

That's cool. People can totally have preferences. I love both, i've seen both. To say one is factually better is ridiculous though. I hate blanket statements like "betters it," especially when on paper, it doesn't.

Apparently, "HD" - yes... Although thanks to the upgraded RES/DPI, they had to downgrade from the Plus' "Real Stripe" RGB display back to Pentile.
The next generation phones, after the Galaxy Nexus will then have a true upgrade to Super AMOLED HD Plus which will maintain the high RES/DPI as well a have RGB support again.
All depends on what you want.
More natural colors? Rezound.
More cartoonishly bright colors? Galaxy Nexus.

I agree with both you guys. I have only played with each phone in the stores but I liked the looks of the Rezound better. I will know for sure on Wednesday

I couldn't tell if the screen was decent on the Rezound or not because I was too distracted by the red LEDs and the Sense farting up the Android experience.
(Don't really care, glad you guys like your phones, just thought the GNex deserved some love in here.)

Ohh ohh! Don't forget the blue tinge! Also don't forget the banding, the grainy look, the pixelation and the whites that look like plaque/fabric yellow!

hahaha yes!
I think we need a list of things that we can make factual comparisons.. you know, take the opinions out. you cant debate facts, they are what they are.
does the screen have banding - yes - fact
is the screen pixelated - yes - fact
s there a grainy look - I think this is an opinion
Whites look yellow - yes - Fact
We need more True/False things to use for comparisons
I took my bolt with twisted's ICS build to the Verizon store and compared to the nexus. What a difference, the bolt screen was beautiful. The colors looked the way they should. Ics on the rezound is gonna really make the nexus look bad

Thoughts on the Pink Note, hate it or like it? Would men carry this? I personally think its the nicest of the three colors. What other colors would you like to see the Note come in?
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2012/04/09/pink-galaxy-note-goes-on-sale/note-10/
After tablet mode comes I think someone should incorperate Cornerstone into a rom. I know its one thing at a time but I would love to see true multitasking on the Note cause I believe the screen is just big enough. What features would you like to see?
http://www.onskreen.com/cornerstone/
Nice color for a girl. I know of no man that would carry that. Of course, we may hang in different crowds.
No pink for me... But i could care less if i see another guy with it. A note is a note! Maybe i can convince my girl to get it... She thinks mines a monster

I rock a black/grey with pink letter keyboard setup. I got tired of the blue and green everyone else uses. I prefer my pink to be subtle tho, like highlights and such.
I wouldn't rock a pink exterior tho

I was watching the new Star Trek movie in 3D in the cinema yesterday and I was wondering if you could watch Real D movies (like most of the ones in the cinema) in 3D on the Nexus using the passive glasses that they provide?
After all, the N10 screen is super crisp and very high res so can it be done?
Has anyone done it?

No
Is that a Grumpy Cat "NO" or a it won't work type "NO"?!

I think i'm correct with what i'm going to say, so correct me if im wrong. You are trying to watch, with 3d glasses, a 3d film, on a NON-3d screen. Is that true? :silly:
It's like trying to make a video with a potatoe.
Lol, ok. Please correct me if I'm wrong too but there's no such thing as a 3D screen at a cinema. It's just a flat screen and the 3D comes from separating the colours slightly to give an illusion of depth. The N10 screen has more than enough resolution to achieve this precise separation and I just wondered if anyone had used it to view 3d on it. How awesome would that be?!

I suppose a 3D effect could be gained on virtually any device by using Anaglyph 3D - parts of the image are encoded in either red or blue, and the viewer would have to wear passive glasses to see the 3D effect. You would be hardware limited from displaying any of the "good" types of 3d...refresh rates aren't high enough and it simply isn't the right type of screen for lenticular 3D (as with the Nintendo 3DS).

Passive glasses need a polarized screen. The nexus 10 doesn't have a polarized 3D screen.

That makes sense!
No wonder I can't see any 3d on it!

What did you think I meant when I said that N10 hasn't got a 3d screen? If it could be able to reproduce 3d videos, don't you think Google would have written that in capital letters?
PS: Can anyone help me? I can't get my potatoe to record a video... I have peeled it but nothing has changed...

Thanks for the tip boss. We learn from our mistakes
PS: Close this thread?
The difference in the cinema is that each image is passed through a polarising filter that matches each of the two on the glasses.
The light projected is polarised and the screen is irrelevant.
On a device that emits the light however you would need polarisation built or synchronised active shutter glasses.

Comparing it to my HTC One, the One Max's screen does look distinctively warmer..
I currently have GSM versions of both (One is on eBay but hasn't sold yet). The one's whites are very cool and bright. The one max is very warm by comparison with a yellowish hue to it. Which do I prefer? The One Max. It's easier on the eyes.
Mine has a warmer hue to it as well, noticeably more yellow than my DNA, which had a neutral if not slightly cool tone to it. Honestly I prefer the DNA but I don't really notice too much unless I have them side by side.
When I picked mine up, I had the Verizon rep open 7 of them, so I chose the one with the least amount of yellow in it.
For some reason the display units in the Verizon store where cool and super vibrant. I wonder if the panels are different or kernel related. I remember we had a color fix on our droid DNA. Zarbos figured it out I believe??
