[Q] Why not add another chapter to the battery saga ? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Accessories

I was looking as we all have, for a high capacity battery.
I know myself and i'm not the adventurous kind, so I narrowed my search to HTC original batteries only.
A few days ago I found on ebay the holy grail of batteries:
HTC original (OEM)
1600mAh
35H00125-07M - compatible with HTC Pure cell phone models only
At least this is what the vendor states.
I asked the vendor to send me Hi-res pics of the battery and here they are.
on the front of the battery it is stated that the model is RHOD160, and i'm pretty sure that means it won't fit in topaz or pure (that is, without applying a moderate physical force), can someone state otherwise ?

you better try looking at http://www.htcrepairparts.com/high-...tc-touch-diamond-2535353882300mah-p-3364.html

you are right. double time with this battery. but looks crapy, heavier and brakes original cover holder. after that, china holder falls down, need a tape to glue it to main body. original one holds allright.
that was in my case. if u wont drop it - it might never happen

This is not the same as having a thin battery that fits the original battery cover, but is almost 1.5 in its capacitance.
My questions still stands, is it important that the model written on the battery is RHOD160 ? - would it fit ?
Any pure user knows what model is written on its phone's original battery.

yes, it will fit.

The Vendor told me that he sold all his batteries a few days ago, so I have to look for a new one..
Can I ask you what made you so sure about it ? - I thought that the model RHOD160 means it won't fit - cause touch pro2 batteries don't fit in topaz.

2400mAh battery for Hermes

Has anyone tried this one

looks lke the new back door they provide is no where near as bluging as the 3200mAh version doing the rounds ..... but the picture may be deceptive !!
Anyone got one or used one
I have a 2800mah one I bought from igonemobile.com (via eBay).. the one that is bigger than normal and requires the special case that comes with it. I actually like it since it lifts the speaker up. With the original battery, if the phone is flat, the speaker is blocked. This 2800 works pretty good. Seems to like playing mp3's, wi-fi, and T-mobile internet usage so far. I have not charged it since Friday (Monday now) and it has like 50% power left.
I bought one in ebay (from China). 7€ + 4€ postal cost. It works nice ¡¡

Why did you double post this from the accessories forum?
Whats case do you use?
Hey guys,
you use the bigger Battery.
Which case do you use, no case?
I find no case for the bigger batteries...
Thanks!
Oliver
Yes I was wondering the same thing but I don't know if it would fit into my i.trek charger so it could be a moot point for me.
I guess maybe I just need a good "eyeglass style" case for my device.
A case for a bigger battery
Hey,
do you have tips which case I can use if I want a Battery with 2400 or 3200mAH
Thanks!
Oliver
Go to fortte dot com they make great cases and now have one that fits both extended and regular.
d
so do you guys reccommend getting 2 regular size batteries or an extended. the picture for the 3200mAH extended makes it look crazy big. i like keeping it in my pocket. What do you prefer? Also, what is the longest lasting batterry that can fit in the phone without a different back? Thanks guys. Just got my phone yesterday. Loving it. Trying to get all the things i need.
Good tip, more tips?
Thanks dwella,
good site you recommended. Yes, there a cases for bigger batteries.
But I love cases I can use my TYTN in the case, no need to pull it out.
Normaly I worked with Brando Alu Cases ore PDAIR Leather Cases with open front.
Has anyone a tip for cases with these specifications (No nee to pull out)
Thanks
Oliver

2200mAh Extended Battery

The image looks odd because the battery cover definitely isn't for the hero, maybe the image isn't of the actual product but an example.

Can anyone speculate on this items validity?
or they make mystake with photos or is hymmmm .... funy
I'v just sent them an email requesting when they expect to get the stock in, will update this thread with their response.
Have they responded yet?

Nope they haven't, can you send them an email as well, this extended battery would be really useful
Interested too, any response?
I asked when batteries should come and they responded:
Hi, We don't have an ETA for the extended batteries, the standard batteries are coming into us later th is week. Best regards, Easy Devices Sales Team
I see they list the voltage as 3.7v, but the battery for the Hero is 4.2v according to the picture on the HTC accessory website (I don't have my G2 with me to check).
hmmmm interesting!
well, the battery in my hero is indeed 3.7v.
I guess that expansys (who run the accessory site for HTC) have done their usual stuff of putting the wrong picture up.
Finally! Batteries have arrived!

Says you need the cover that is supplied with the battery, you can tell by the shape of the cover that is supplied that it's different!
Barring any breakthrough it storage density, you will always need a bigger battery cover to work with a almost 2x capacity battery
Ordered one from ebay now
Please let us know how they perform and if they explode themselves
Ok, if you don't hear anything from me within 14 days then you better stay away then ;-)

I had a battery like that in my G1 and I hated the extra bulk in my pocket. I think the extra bulk on the hero would be even worse. I like the sleekness of this phone
Just ordered one of the eBay extended batteries myself, I dont like that the cover is white but will report back how the battery performs.
Mine arrived this morning, The battery indicator has been at full all day and still is.
It even still fits in my Krusell leather slip case ok as well.
I still dont like it being white but it sort of goes with the titanium of my orange branded hero.
The back cover was a perfect fit as well by the way, all the clips went in to place perfectly.
Very happy chappy so far.
have invested - same they only do white cases but a cross I have to bear.
will report back on life span etc.
can anyone confirm if they had to give it a full 16 hour charge or just the standard hour or so through the mains?
cheers

Are Tp2 or Hero batteries compatible with Topaz

Looking for higher capacity battery for my topaz, I stumbled upon this interesting ad.
Could this be ? Can us Topaz owners use Hero/Tp2* batteries ? (*another ad said stated "Hero/Tp2 battery").
If so, this means that there thin batteries such as this, that has the capacity of 1500mAh and to my understanding won't require changing the battery cover.
Going from the original 1100mAh to 1500mAh is a significant step (unlike the known 1350mAh battery).
I don't know of this is true or not, but it seems that touch pro2 batteries might not be compatible with our topaz - some battery ads on ebay state that the dimensions are not the same. Tp2 batteries are 2-3mm wider.
Although in picture they look the same, and in some ads even the part no. are identical.
I would still like to know if some one has tried it and got to the same conclusion.

The Hero battery is the same but thicker. It fits the Topaz, and will power the phone, but, the rear cover will not fit with the battery in place.

Case for Topaz with extended battery

Hello,
I've ordered a 3.200mAh Battery from Mugen Power.
Now the Phone thickness increases to 23mm, so the original case doesn't fit.
Is there a case like the original for this brick?
Regards
Wiesel
Sorry for out-of-topic question - but how long does this battery last after full charge? -Thanks.
"PLEASE NOTE THIS BATTERY INCREASES THE THICKNESS OF THE DEVICE TO 23mm.
REPLACEMENT BATTERY COVER IS INCLUDED. "
So you don't have to order another one, isn't it? ^^"
My current stock battery lasts for about 2.5 days. If the above mentioned battery lasts for about a week I would definitely consider buying one and keep the stock battery as a backup
but the price is crazy..$96?!?
I hope somebody can review a yoobao 2200mah.
The battery arrived, few minutes ago.
So I can give some statement in a couple of days.
Mugen is very expensive, but the batteries are high quallity.
I have a three years old 3300mAh in my tytn and have power for over a week
with bt on and mutch sufring on it.
hi,
Can you please let us know the results with your new battery?
sweet I would have loved that much juice in my toy too!! I can't wait for batteries powered by nuclearity! (there are those now, read it in a magazine) They can actually make them much tinier yet safe enough for daily use.. hell, even the older pacemakers were powerd by splitting atoms
BATTERY
The battery will come with a new back cover included
DasWiesel, do you recommend this battery? is it worth the $100? how much longer battery life are you getting out of it as opposed to the original battery? is the extended thickness noticeable by a lot? do you like chocolate chip cookies? oh sorry let's just stick to the subject
isn't it very heavy????
it seems the phone will be like a brick! no?
I should buy one battery...
see here 2200 mAH
it contains back cover too...
please write a review here...
thanks

devices with new batteries are all bricked or are there actually some results on the duration?
I just purchased the Mugen 3200mah battery for my HTC Pure. With the original battery, I'd get 15 hours of moderate use. I'm now on my second charge on the Mugen and it looks like it will run for 30 hours. That means even with heavy use, I can easily get a full work day out of it. Weight with the new battery - 5.4oz (155g). That's up from the original 4.15oz (117g).
Update = after 24 hours, the battery is still going strong and is at 49%. So looks like it will run for more like 2 days in moderate use !
2nd update = After 49 hours, the battery is at 2% and I'm going to recharge it. So, 2 days of moderate use !
As to size and weight, I previously had the AT&T 8125 and 8525 (HTC Wizard and Hermes) and the HTC Pure with the extended battery is about the same size and weight as these. So, I don't have the hardware keyboard those units had, but I do have a phone that will last through a day of even high use (push mail, web use, phone calls, etc.) ! Worth it for me.

i too just purchased the mugen 3200mah and have one question. on their website it say's that it's for the t5353 (touch diamond 2) and does not mention the st6356 (at&t pure). i know they are both the same phone, however, after seeing pictures of the t5353 back cover, it looks like it covers the entire back of the phone from top to bottom, while the st6356 has a back cover that only goes three quarters of the way down. did i just pay $100 for nothing or will the back cover fit just fine?

The back covers do look quite different so I can't say. I bought the mugen for the HTC Pure - http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-3200mAh-MUG...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item45f022bfc9
I recommended this battery to a friend and she got one as well from eBay and loves it. She was going to pitch the phone and buy an iPhone till I got her to upgrade the battery and then installed an Energy Rom for her.
i just saw some more pictures and yes, they are different. so the question now is, is it possible to buy just the mugen back cover for the pure without the battery?
[edit]
never mind that. naked cell phones from ebay offered to sell me the back cover alone for $11.99. but there was no need since mugen power batteries were kind enough to cancel my order. so i purchased the whole thing and received it today. i hope it's as good as everyone claims.
Can somebody post a picture of his Topaz and the mugen some that I can get a expression about the new look?

[Q] How much thicker is the extended case?

Hi,
I'm getting my Pro2 today and since I'm very worried about battery life (I hope to be using the TP2 A LOT), I was wondering how much an extended case adds to the phone.
This is what I had in mind (German Ebay but I think you know what I mean from the picture there):
http://cgi.ebay.de/Power-Akku-Li-Io...4579?pt=DE_PDA_Zubehör_KM&hash=item53e279e3e3
Does anybody have such a case for an extended battery? How comfortably can you carry the phone in your back pocket compared to the normal case?
Thanks in advance!
I don't know if I would bother with a case like that (it looks like it'll make the phone about 50% thicker). With the stock battery, it lasts more than long enough for me to get through the day, so all I have to do is plug it in each night. What I'd do is just see how long it lasts you for the first week or so then decide if you want to get an extended battery, HTC makes an extended battery and cover so I'd look into that rather than a third party one.

If you think the phone is fat now, don't try it. It makes it bulkier but also a bit uglier (and i have yet to see a silicon type 2-piece case for the extended back cover (how are you going to protect it after install the extended stuff?))
Wait and see if the normal battery suits you , then if yes just go out and buy another one plus battery charger from ebay and you are set! If not, well it doesn't really give you a choice. You are going for the extended.

After all the purchases i have inside ebay and seeing the prices of the original models, i'd be nuts to prefer the official against the oem from a seller with proven history!
Thanks for your replies!
The extended case does indeed look ugly, so I'm holding off buying one for now. However, despite my light use so far (I need to get the data connections turned off first), it does feel like the battery doesn't last long at all, especially compared to my good old K750i, which I could use to play mp3s for literally days (which I wasn't expecting with the TP2, of course, but still - that was really nice).
I'll wait and see, I guess. But since the docking station, which I also got from ebay, doesn't seem to recharge the battery fast enough, I might have to look for a solution soon.
I have also seen a 1750 mah battery that isn't bigger at all. It fits underneath your existing case, and it is an improvement of 250mah.
I cannot post links atm. Just google "Seidio Inno 1750mAh Extended Life Battery " and find it on amazon. It costs about 50 dollars.

Hmm, $50 is a little too much for my taste, since I paid only little more that $100 for the whole phone and there are plenty of batteries for less than $20 out there.
I have the extened back and battery. Well worth it if you use the phone alog like I do. with the OE battery I was getting down to less than 20% battery life in not time at all. Now I get down to around 50% by days end.
Google HTC and 74H01486-01M (the part number for the OEM HTC extended back) they cost $12.95 (USD)
When I set the extened back next to the phone with the OEM back on it, the extened back is as tall as the original phone, so it is adding about 1/2 inch to the thickness.
Don't expect to find a case for it either, I have had my phone for 1 year and have yet to find a case that it fits in. I have an old worn out one that was stretched that I can get it into.
@wooptyone: Thanks for sharing! I am back to considering the extended case as well since I will be reading a lot of ebooks with the TP2 and the battery does indeed go down pretty quickly. Also, I discovered that I'm not using a case anyway since I have the phone in my chest pocket all the time. The only downside is the docking station that I bought for it, but since that isn't working as intended (apparently the current isn't enough to load the phone while also acting as a USB port ), the extended case so look attractive right now.
Sadly though I can't find the case you mentioned in Europe and S/H would double the price.
